Internet Marketing Blogs Can Help You Learn And Help You Make Money

Internet Marketing Blogs Can Help You Learn And Help You Make Money
When you have a home business you will need to know all you
can about internet marketing. There are a lot of different
ways that you can learn about this. There is also a lot of
ways that you can make money with internet marketing. The
best way to do both of these things is with internet
marketing blogs.

Internet marketing blogs have two different purposes. The
first is to help people all over the world learn about
internet marketing. The second is to help people that want
to make money with these blogs. You can even do both, first
learn, than make money, the choice is yours.

So, how can internet marketing blogs help you learn? These
blogs are set up with articles that you can read to help
you learn about different marketing strategies. They will
also have tools and resources that you can use to build
your own home business. Most of the information you can use
to learn from will be free but some of it you will have to
pay for. A good site will give you articles, tools,
resources, tips, and many other things that will help you
learn.

Now that you know how you can learn from an internet
marketing blog you need to know how you can make money with
them. When you want to set up one of these blogs it is very
easy to do. The difficult part is writing the content for
it, especially if you are not a writer. For this you can
hire someone to write the content for you. You have to be
careful though because this can get expensive, so you may
at some point want to learn how to write for yourself.

There are many places that will help you set up a blog of
your own. You just have to look for them and then take
steps to get your site set up. The next thing that is
important besides the content is the affiliate programs you
are going to promote. You can easily find more than one
program about internet marketing or about a strategy and
promote it from your blog.

You want to make sure that you give your readers a lot of
free useful information but there is no reason why you
can't make money with your internet marketing blog too.
Many people do this and are very successful with it. You
can too if that is what you choose to do. Just remember
that you have to learn before you can start making money
with your own blog.

HubPages Equals Free Traffic

HubPages Equals Free Traffic
Many of you may have heard of Squidoo which is a competitor
of Hubpages.com. Basically both of them are a "free-hosted
community of content producers". Both Squidoo and Hubpages
can be "grouped" into the Web 2.0 movement - where user
generated content rules.

If you are already familiar with Squidoo, the your entrance
into working with Hubpages will be very straightforward.
Both Squidoo and Hubpages SHARE REVENUE with their content
creators.

What Makes Them Similar, Yet Different?

From HubPages.com: "Hubpages purpose is to provide
easy-to-use tools and traffic to help anyone to produce
content and monetize their knowledge by creating webpages.
There will be monetization programs to choose from
consisting of products, advertisements and lead generation
tools that each person can easily incorporate into their
pages.

Hubpages will split revenue with the content creator. The
pages are organized in the Hubpages website based on
algorithmic quality index that promotes the best pages
throughout the hierarchy (based on tags) of the website.

Each author will earn a reputation score called a HubScore
that can be referenced to meter the quality of the content
by an author. Hubpages will be positioned to take advantage
of the significant numbers of new web content providers
that want to supplement their income through content like
many people do on eBay by selling goods."

From Squidoo: "We divide up the money we receive in a very
public way. First, we pay our bills. That's direct out of
pocket expenses like rent and servers and salary and
benefits expenses (our CEO doesn't take a salary, and
neither does our board of directors).

Then, with no other deductions, we pay 5% of our
post-expense revenue directly to the charity pool, 50%
directly to our lensmasters and retain the rest to pay off
investors and employees."

So, other than the obvious revenue sharing, is there any
other reason to consider using Hubpages? YES! As Hubpages
is considered an authority by Google, you are able to make
money with the Google Adsense that is on your hubpage.

Developing content on Hubpages should become an important
part of your overall web marketing / promotional strategies.

In addition to your actual 'hubs' ranking on the various
search engines, you can link directly to your other
websites! And guess what? These backlinks are being
'counted'.

So Hubpages can help you strengthen your entire marketing
presence and 'network of sites'. One of the best things
about creating Hubpages and Squidoo lenses is that it can
be outsourced.

Outsource the writing, and by doing so, you free up your
time to create more Hubpages. Another great aspect of any
free content hosting site, is that they have already
built-in traffic from other members, and if you are
applying your linking knowledge to this, you will be
creating tons of back links...Power Linking!

Web 2.0 properties such as Hubpages and Squidoo have become
an important part of our overall traffic strategy and works
well in any niche market.

Remember, your competitors are most likely NOT on Hubpages
so it is still a 'land grab'.

Website Marketing: Dramatically Increase Your Conversions with a Clear Call to Action

Website Marketing: Dramatically Increase Your Conversions with a Clear Call to Action
One of the things I often notice on websites is that I'm
not sure where to go or what to do when I arrive. There
are those websites that are simply online brochures that
tell me all about the features of a product or service, but
don't ask anything of me. There are other websites that
give me a headache, as they try to send me in too many
directions at once. When faced with too many choices, I
become overwhelmed and ultimately leave the site without
taking any action.

How do you get your visitor to stay on your site and
convert to a prospect? By presenting one clear call to
action on every page of your site.

Do you want the visitor to listen to an audio clip? How
about signing up for your email newsletter? Do you want
the visitor to call a toll-free number and listen to a
message? Would you like them to subscribe to your blog
updates? Do you have a free ecourse that you're offering to
your visitors? Don't be shy about telling your visitor
what to do. Most people don't want to have to think when
they arrive at a site (myself included), and are more than
happy to follow whatever directions you provide and actions
that you outline.

For owners of service businesses, I strongly believe that
the most important call to action that should appear on
your site is asking your visitor to get on your email list.
This information becomes the gold in your marketing
funnel. You begin to build a list in this fashion, and can
email your contacts on this list on a regular basis with
special offers, new programs, or just news updates.

The primary way that I capture someone's contact
information is through my email broadcast service, aWeber,
which offers me the coding for a subscription form that I
can place on any page of my website. Once they have opted
in to my list, they begin to receive my email newsletter,
as well as emails about special offers, sales, and other
pertinent news about my business.

Too many times I hear my clients lament that they're
getting traffic to their websites, but the phone isn't
ringing. I think it's pretty unrealistic for you to expect
a visitor to buy from you immediately upon "meeting" you
via your website or becoming acquainted with your service,
unless you offer a very highly specialized product or
service that visitors cannot obtain elsewhere. Think of
your own buying habits. I'll bet that you fall in the 7-10
"touches" category that marketing experts say is needed in
order to get someone to purchase what you're selling. What
do I mean by a "touch"? It could be an email newsletter
that you send out regularly, a direct mail postcard that
you send, a phone call that you make, or a lunch date that
you set. It takes roughly 7-10 contacts (touches) for
someone to begin to get to know you, respect you, and like
you enough to make the decision to buy from you.

If your offer is compelling enough, 1%-3% of the visitors
to your website will convert, or take the action you want
them to take. What constitutes a compelling offer? Once
upon a time, it was simply an invitation to subscribe to
your email newsletter. However, it seems that everyone is
writing an email newsletter these days, and with the levels
of spam growing increasingly larger day-by-day, a free
email newsletter is no longer as enticing as it once was.
Instead, offer a free giveaway that provides a solution to
a problem that keeps your visitor up at night. Make it
compelling enough that your visitors doesn't hesitate to
give you his name and primary email address.

To be effective, your call to action needs to prominently
displayed on your homepage, not hidden mid-way down the
page in a paragraph of text, or "above the fold", to borrow
an old newspaper term. In this case, your call to action,
should be the first thing a visitor sees when arriving at
your homepage. In some cases, you may want to have the
call to action appear on every page, making it crystal
clear to your visitors what action you want them to take.

What compelling piece of information can you offer visitors
to capture their names and email addresses? Once you have
that info, what is your plan to follow up regularly?
Creating a clear call to action on your website, along with
an effective follow-up strategy, will measurably increase
your sales. Isn't that we all want from our businesses?

Why Money Can't Buy Happiness

Why Money Can't Buy Happiness
It has been said that "money can't buy happiness," but that
is mostly true because happiness is not something for sale.
You cannot go into a store and buy happiness. The
implication with the phrase, though, is that happiness has
nothing to do with money. There is also an insinuation that
people who want more money are superficial and are only
interested in material possessions. I beg to differ. If you
understand what happiness is and you also understand the
difference there is between having money and not having
money, you will see that there is no contradiction between
wanting money and wanting happiness. They are not only not
mutually exclusive, there is a relationship between money
and happiness. It is more accurate to say that money may
contribute to your level of happiness. The pursuit of
success may, in fact, coincide with the pursuit of
happiness.

There is no one definition of what happiness is exactly.
There have been philosophical discussions for centuries
about what it is and how one might attain it. Some have
argued that it may be attained simply by being virtuous.
Others define it as the absence of pain. Others claim it
can be achieved by indulging in pleasures. Others believe
it can only be found through faith in God. Regardless of
the theories, we all know when we are not happy. Most
people would agree that happiness itself is not merely a
simple emotion like elation or bliss. It is deeper than
just a fleeting feeling that may both come and go within a
moment of time. But a state of happiness does affect our
emotions even though it may not be considered an emotion in
and of itself. Because of this, we can tell whether we are
in a state of happiness or not by how we feel.

I think of happiness as a positive state of well-being with
many contributing factors. It is kind of like soup. There
is no one ingredient that could be considered the soup. The
soup is a combination of all of the ingredients. Whether or
not the soup tastes good or bad depends on the combination.
Too much of one ingredient or not enough of another will
make an unsavory soup. Likewise, it is very difficult to
describe oneself as being happy while undergoing extreme
emotional pain, worry, stress, fear or any other unpleasant
state of mind. But this does not mean that happiness is
merely the absence of negative feelings. These are just
ingredients in the soup. Conversely, not feeling enough
emotional intimacy, recognition, accomplishment,
appreciation, attention or any other basic human need or
desire can also lead to unhappiness. Again, no one of these
can be said to be responsible for happiness alone. A
positive state of well-being is a combination of different
emotional experiences that lead one to feel fulfilled and
happy.

Money can play a role in both averting some negative
emotions and also building positive ones. Success can help
change the ingredients of the soup so it tastes better.
Living life with enough money to pay all the bills and
still put money away for the future is far less worrisome
than not having enough. Living life with enough money to
work fewer hours and go on vacations is far less stressful
than not having enough. Living life with enough money to
have the ability to enjoy hobbies and interests is far more
satisfying than not having enough. Living life with enough
money to get the education and training to do what you want
for a living is far more fulfilling than not having enough.
A person who wants these kinds of benefits would not be
considered to be superficial or materialistic. Although
having money alone will not bring happiness, having money
can contribute to happiness by giving you the ability to
have more positive experiences.

Money can't buy happiness, but it can lead a person to a
lifestyle that contributes to a state of happiness. With
the right motivations, when we pursue success, we are
pursuing happiness, too.

How Many Home Business Opportunities Should You Be Involved In

How Many Home Business Opportunities Should You Be Involved In
One problem the Internet has brought to the home business
opportunity market is volume. By that we mean there really
is a never-ending supply of opportunities out there for
you. In this article we want to talk about how many home
business opportunities you should be involved in at any
given time.

In the old days, most people joined a home business
opportunity after they were invited by a friend or
relative. As they became more accustomed to how these
opportunities were they might subscribe to a home business
opportunity magazine and have exposure to more
opportunities.

Generally a person would only be in one opportunity at a
time and they would try to get that one going to see if
they could make money with it. Sadly, most people failed
because they really didn't have the skills or the work
ethic to do a home business in conjunction with a full-time
job.

Today the Internet really makes it possible for you to be
involved in a multitude of opportunities if you choose to
go that route. There are a couple of downfalls to this
though, and let's talk about those right now.

1. First of all it can be expensive to operate a home
business on the Internet because you have to advertise and
promote. For this reason being in more than one opportunity
at a time can be tough to do for most people.

2. Secondly joining more than one home business opportunity
at a time can become counterproductive if you do not get
your first opportunity up and running properly. The time to
add a second opportunity is not until you are profitable
with your first one.

Many people cannot focus on more than one thing at a time,
and therefore will find themselves jumping from one home
business opportunity to the next. This never works because
you do not give yourself a chance to be successful with one
opportunity before starting another.

Once you develop a system that works for you then it truly
is possible to make money in a multitude of ways on the
Internet. There are many opportunities available for you to
work from your home in virtually any niche.

Therefore it makes sense to want to promote more than one
thing at the time and not pigeonhole yourself into one
specific product or opportunity. But again we caution you
that until you are profitable and have the current
opportunity you're involved in up and running, it makes no
sense to add another one.

Home business opportunities are easier to operate today
because of the Internet. If you follow the tips we've given
you above you can be in more than one opportunity at a time
as they become profitable.

Real Online Business Opportunities

Real Online Business Opportunities
The internet has many real online business opportunities
available for anyone looking to make some extra income. If
you have the ability to learn and determination to succeed
you can tap into a powerful income source that the internet
can provide. Believe it or not, people as young as 13
years old are using the internet to make money. The
earlier you start the learning process, the more money you
will make in the long run.

The internet is quickly becoming the ultimate source of
information for almost anything throughout the entire
world. It has recently become more mobile with laptops
with wifi and cell phones that have internet capabilities.
Soon, all information and media will be available whenever
and wherever you want by connecting via the web.

What this means is that there will be plenty of real online
business opportunities available for some time to come.
Defining real online business opportunities from ones that
are not real are in the eye of the beholder. Since there
is so much information online, you must do a ton of
research to figure out which are legit and which are not.

To find real online business opportunities look for forums
where there are internet marketers discussing the various
aspects of the home based business market. Many of these
forums are free and very easy to find. Once you join, you
are free to ask questions to real people who are actually
making money online. There is no better resource than
getting advice from people who are doing exactly what you
are attempting to do.

Other than forums, there are also many informative and
fantastic free E-books and newsletters you can sign up for
that share how to make money using real business
opportunities. These E-books and newsletters are strictly
written to get people to sign up for their opt in list but
you really can learn a lot from them. Because if they
don't offer good information, many of the people who signed
up will indefinitely opt out.

That brings me to my next point. Find out who is making
the big bucks online, study and copy their methods. Type
in some keywords that have a lot of competition and click
on some of the top results. Those are the people who are
are working hard at making money and are using real online
business opportunities to do so. If they are making money
doing what they are doing, you can too!

The one thing to remember though, the internet is not going
to be your get rich quick ticket out of the rat race.
Think of it more as a marathon. Find out the real online
business opportunities and work hard to make it happen.
Make the commitment to succeed and don't give up till you
reach the top.

The Best Way To Make Money At Home Online Today

The Best Way To Make Money At Home Online Today
First off let me say that this is not an article about a
specific product or program. What I want to talk about is a
system that I feel is the best way to make money at home
online today. I think you will understand the reasons why I
say that as you read the article.

1. You obviously need a product, and I'm partial to
affiliate marketing as a way to find that, but I'm going to
assume that you will find something to sell that will make
you money. I'm not trying to minimize the importance of the
product, but that will be up to you to decide what you want
to sell.

2. You need a pre-sell webpage, or a landing page. Your
primary purpose is to provide a little bit of information
and get your visitor excited enough to give you their
contact information for future follow. You're not trying to
make the sale, but you're just trying to get their name and
e-mail address, or to get the click through to your sales
page.

3. Once you've gotten your visitors contact information it
needs to be sent via a sign-up form to an auto responder. I
personally like Aweber, but there are a number of quality
auto responders available online.

In your autoresponder you need to have a series of 5-10
prewritten messages that offer more information designed to
build your credibility. When talking about the product you
hope to sell in the initial first couple messages you may
not even want to directly identify the product or website
sales page.

4. Once a person has given your contact information you
should send them to your blog, which contains additional
quality articles about the niche that your product is in.
Blogging is extremely important today for attracting
traffic and building credibility.

5. The final thing you want to do is to consistently mail
to your list as you build it. The way to make money online
is to sell products. Many people miss this point, and they
spend all their time building relationships and this sort
of thing when in reality that is important, but if you're
not selling you are not making money.

What you're really doing here is creating a funnel for the
traffic that you are attracting. As you can see the funnel
contains a quality product, a pre-sell webpage or landing
page, an autoresponder for future follow-up, a blog for
building credibility and search engine traffic, and a
strategy for selling at every chance you get.

The only other thing that we haven't mentioned is how you
get traffic to your funnel to start with. There are a
number of different ways to do this, including pay per
click advertising, article marketing, blogging and social
bookmarking, forum marketing, classified ads, e-zine
advertising, social networking, or just plain buying it.

The benefit of approaching how you make money online using
this strategy is you are create a long term approach to
your success. Having an e-mail marketing lists can pay off
for you for many years to come.

Blogging can create search engine bait that can produce
additional traffic for many years to come as well. Once you
master this basic system you can do it over and over for
any product that you want.

This is why I say this is the best way to make money at
home online today. Give this a try and see how works for
you.

The 5 Biggest Six-Figure Profit Secrets Most Bloggers Don't Even Know!

The 5 Biggest Six-Figure Profit Secrets Most Bloggers Don't Even Know!
Some cynics claim that blogging is a fad and is dying off,
solid data proves otherwise! And indications show that the
trend is still in the very early stages of growth and is
going to go ballistic!

You may be surprised to discover that blogging has in fact
been around a lot longer than most people think.

Here's a potted history:
o June 1993 Netscape begins running it's What's New! list
of sites.
o Jan 1994: Swarthmore student Justin Hall creates first
blog ever.
o April 1997: Dave Winer launches Scripting News. His
company, Userland, will release Frontier, Manila and Radio
Userland, all website and blog content software.
o Dec 1997: Online diarist Jorn Barger coins the term
"Weblog" for "logging the Web."
o April 1999: Programmer Peter Merholz shortens "Weblog" to
"blog."
o July 1999: Pitas launches the first free build your own
blog web tool.
o August 1999: Pyra releases Blogger which becomes the most
popular web based blogging tool to date, and popularizes
blogging with mainstream internet users.
0 Jan 2000: Boing Boing is born.

Fast forward...

o June 2003: Google launches AdSense, matching ads to blog
content.
o Sept 2003: Jason Calacanis founds Weblogs, Inc., which
eventually grows into a portfolio of 85 blogs.
o Dec 2004: Merriam-Webster declares "blog" the "Word of
the Year."
o Jan 2005: Study finds that 32 million Americans read
blogs.
o Oct 2005: Calacanis sells his blogs to AOL for $25
million.
o Dec 2005: An estimated $100 million worth of blog ads are
sold this year.

All of this took place well before most of today's web
users had actually heard the term "blog".

In December 2007 blog search engine Technorati tracked more
than 112 million individual blogs on the blogosphere,
confirming that blogging has become and is set to continue
as a massive, mainstream trend.

Not surprisingly, many blog owners look to converting their
online journals into some form of income generator. This
begs the question; Is it possible to earn money (even big
money) from blogging?

Results show that as more people figure out ways to
monetize their blogging activities, it is very possible to
generate an income from a tightly targeted niche blog.

While many bloggers will find they can make some money from
their blogs, it is a fact of life that there will be a few
who just "Get It" and apply techniques which blast their
blogs into money-making hyperdrive.

One such person who has done this is UK based 22-year-old
Rob Benwell who claims to earn six-figures from his
blogging empire.

Rob maintains that his massive success is down to five
simple but little used techniques (he calls the 5 Blogging
Commandments) which have literally transformed his blogs
into non-stop cash machines.

1. "Most people are still on the SEO kick," he explains.
"They stuff keywords into posts and go overboard trying to
fool the search engines. Blogs should be more organic and
imitate nature. Google,Yahoo and MSN are looking for
quality sites by real people, not someone spitting out
hundreds of blogs each month filled with keywords and ads."

2. "Every post should offer visitor value. This doesn't
mean it has to change their lives or anything. Even posts
about a related article with a link or a product review are
good. Blogs filled with RSS vomit don't offer value and
won't last."

3. "Your blog should have people coming back again and
again. RSS buttons help and an opt-in newsletter that
offers more than just updates is always a good idea. The
number one way to get people to come back is to give
excellent, likable content."

4. "After extensive tests I've seen huge differences in
blogs that are kept up to date against others that don't
get new (or very few) posts. You don't have to post every
day or even every week, but make sure you don't just set
them up and forget about them because they will die off."

5. "If you are after making the most money you can from a
blog, then the most important decision you make will be the
market you blog for. So make sure you research it well
beforehand."

Rob has written a step by step blueprint which lays bare
everything he does to build long term, profitable niche
blogs, and although from a grammatical standpoint, it could
be improved, the information in this publication goes way
beyond anything else that is available regarding turning a
standard blog into a fully focussed cash generating
mechanism.

As rough and ready as it may be, this is a great resource
for any blogger who wants to earn money (dare I say big
money) from their daily posts... I've already started to
make the recommend changes to my own sites. See you at the
bank!

The Quickest Way To Get Cheap Sustained Website Traffic

The Quickest Way To Get Cheap Sustained Website Traffic
During a recent radio interview, one of the callers asked
for several ways to get fast, cheap, sustained website
traffic. She added on top of that "tall order" that she
didn't want to use pay-per-clicks!

Digging deeply into my toolkit of traffic generation
techniques that had actually work beautifully for me, I
suggested joint ventures and article marketing. Then I had
to admit that article marketing often doesn't produce an
immediate flood of traffic but that it can be sustained and
highly targeted.

Joint ventures get you fast and cheap traffic because
you're arranging for those who already have the attention
of your ideal customers to send them to you. You're
convincing those who already have the trust and respect of
your ideal customers to point out to them that you can help
to solve their pressing problems.

My "answer" to the question of the quickest way to generate
sustained, inexpensive website traffic still is joint
ventures. As a joint venture broker, and Executive
Director of The International Association of Joint
Venture Brokers, I've seen first-hand how large, successful
joint ventures with just the right partners can deliver
7-figure days.

However, the joint ventures that so typify product launches
in the Internet marketing niche often miss delivering real
"sustained" traffic. They are mostly "flash in the pan"
launches where the traffic flow dies-off even faster than
it builds up.

A better option for generating inexpensive, sustained,
targeted website traffic is an affiliate program, or
strategic partnerships. The strategic partnerships can
even BE an affiliate program, where the partners have
agreed to promote certain products within that affiliate
program contributed by various members of the alliance.

In ultra-competitive niches, such as Internet marketing,
where you often see dozens of new product launches per
week, strategic alliances are almost a "requirement." It's
sometimes so difficult just to get noticed that the secret
to breaking through the clutter is TEAMWORK.

You often need to find a group of likeminded individuals,
and then work to jointly develop, launch and promote group
products and projects.

An example of a product launched using this model is the
ebook "20 Ways To Make $100 Per Day Online"
(http://20Ways.org). This ebook was written by members of
The Internet Marketing Inner Circle (http://TIMIC.ORG),
then group members created the buzz that got the product
noticed and eventually started other affiliates promoting
it.

The "20 Ways" ebook had a viral twist to it too though, and
that's what created and will sustain it's growth. That
viral aspect is the customer-only affiliate program. A
customer is eligible to register as an affiliate, and
then use their affiliate link to sell the ebook at 100%
commission.

The 20 Ways Ebook was indeed launched via a strategic
alliance, an affiliate program, and viral marketing. It's a
launch formula that you could easily model, and use to
generate a steady stream of quick, inexpensive traffic.

Some would look at the "20 Ways" ebook though and ask
"What's the point - if you then give away 100% commission?"
The answer is that you need to build-in backend sales.
Add links to your product that drive repeat customer back
to you, or offer additional products to those customers on
your download pages.

When I further contemplate the question of the fastest,
easiest, cheapest ways to generate sustained website
traffic, I would still have to say joint ventures... and an
affiliate program. An affiliate program fits the
"inexpensive" criteria because you only pay for
performance. If the traffic doesn't convert to sales, it
costs you absolutely nothing. Any costs involved in an
affiliate program comes from revenue that you wouldn't
otherwise have anyway.

The only twist missing from the "20 Ways" model that I
would incorporate in hindsight... is to perhaps make some
part of the ebook rebrandable. Perhaps use software such
as Viral Document Toolkit to allow customer who buy resale
rights (as an upsell) to change links within the ebook. No
kind of resale rights are offered for the 20 Ways ebook,
but it is a twist that you might want to consider for one
of your products.

Anyway... joint ventures, an affiliate program, and
releasing viral rebrandable products are all proven
methods of quickly, easily, and cheaply setting in motion
a sustainable flow of traffic!

How to Earn US$1,000 with Google Adsense each month?

How to Earn US$1,000 with Google Adsense each month?
One of the most popular sources of income for websites and
blog owners is the Google adsense program. Google adsense
whereby you can put in Google advertisers on your own
webpages and when your website visitor clicks on such
advertisements, you will then earn money from Google.

Can you really make money on Google adsense? I've seen many
successful cases of entrepreneurs earning thousands of
dollars each month using this method alone. The key is to
fully understand how this works, and then study the
statistics that are derived from the Adsense area.

One of my internet marketing coaching students recently
asked me this question, when should i apply for Google
Adsense?

First, the details about this program as listed at
www.google.com/adsense so you can read more about this
money making program before you join it.

Before applying, you should think of these points:-

a) What website are you using to apply? That domain name /
website should already have a few contents pages and no
under construction webpages.

- if you are using a BLOG to apply then the best choice is
to use your Blogger account (Google's blog website will
display your blogs as id.blogspot.com such as
http://1discountshopping.blogspot.com ) - if you are
hosting your own blog with the installed blog version, then
you will specify where google adsense codes are to be
pasted. Sample blog is
http://www.eonenet.com/internet_marketing_blog

- contents on your website do not mean that you just cut
and paste some images there, or add in a full list of
affiliate programs but to really write useful tips /
contents related to the topic of your website.

b) When creating your google adsense account, please make
sure that you use your correct / real name as they will
make the cheque payable to that name. Sometimes in Asia
many are confused about their First name and Last name

- First name is your name eg Yok Ling while Last name is
your Surname like Yap or Lee. If your name is Yap Yok Ling
but the cheque is paid to Yok Ling Yap (as in US, the Last
name is normally placed at the back), you don't have to
worry as this can still be cleared by your local bank
whether you are in Singapore or Philippines.

- If you wish to use an English name which is not listed in
your identification card then it's better of that you
register the name for the Google adsense account or your
future joined affiliate programs using your "as per
identity card / bank account name"

c) One more pointer to remember is to "hold" your cheque
payments from Google Adsense. For international website
owners, they will issue a cheque and mail to you for each
US$100 that you earn from this publisher program. However,
if you are clearing this cheque out of USA, then you will
need to bear your local bank charges that varies from each
country.

For instance, in Malaysia, a US Dollar cheque can be
charged at RM25 to RM35 per cheque so the total amount that
you receive at the end, will be a lesser amount. Moreover
it will take about 21 working days before the cheque that
you bank in will be cleared into your account.

What are the types of websites not approved or rejected for
Google Adsense program? These include gambling,
pornographic, and illegal activities website. Therefore,
whether you have a personal blog or a managing a
manufacturing factory's website, you can still earn money
by placing Google adsense there.

After you have 1 registered google adsense account, you can
use the codes provided inside the Google adsense's member
area for your other blogs or websites.

SEO for Successful Webmasters

SEO for Successful Webmasters
Getting an advantage in the competitive online marketplace
can be quite challenging. Once online marketers start to
see some success, some have a tendency to put their head
down and focus solely on the business at hand. This can
lead to missing some of the other opportunities to gain
business, like using SEO.

The most successful webmasters have some understanding of
SEO and how it affects their websites. There are many myths
about SEO and what it is, but even if you have never heard
the term it can be easy to apply and benefit from SEO.

SEO is the process of optimizing your website from a
technical and stylistic viewpoint. The technical
optimization takes the form of using the proper Meta Tags,
Alt Image Tags, and off-page optimization techniques. The
stylistic adjustments are made in order to make the content
more search engine friendly such as keyword density, bold
text, title text, headings and other ways to highlight the
most important keywords on your site, so the search engines
can deliver accurate results to users.

The natural outcome of optimizing a site is increased
traffic from search engines, and ranking higher in the
results that are delivered to their users.

SEO won't necessarily change the look of your site.
Although, sometimes it is a good idea to make structural
changes to a site to make it easier for the search engine
to read the page. Many times some subtle changes in your
headings, focusing on your keywords in text, adding content
can make a big difference in your overall SEO.

Depending on how competitive your chosen keywords are, you
can expect to see results from your SEO efforts fairly
quickly, sometimes in just a few days. However, when you
are starting your SEO effort you should start with some
broader, less competitive keyword terms and work up to more
competitive ones. This will allow your site to gain
momentum and gain ranking for the more competitive terms as
you work your way up the search results.

Tracking your website statistics is the best way to track
your SEO and know if your SEO efforts are bringing the
desired results. Most hosting sites offer basic statistics
for this, or check out Google Analytics.

When you are analyzing this data, pay attention to where
your traffic is coming from. If you see increasing
referrals from Google, MSN, Yahoo or another search engine,
then your efforts are working. Next you should watch where
your traffic is coming from geographically. You wouldn't
want to attract visitors from India, if you only ship to
the US. If your product or service is available worldwide,
then you can see where your product might be hot.

If you are using other advertising methods like pay per
click, or Banner Ads, direct them to special landing pages
so you don't skew your results with traffic from paid
advertising.

SEO is the best way to drive highly targeted, traffic to
your site and best of all it can be free. SEO can easily be
incorporated into your advertising and marketing efforts,
and the increase in traffic, and ultimately sales will make
the effort well worth the time.

How to use a Co-Reg List to build Your Own Opt-In List

How to use a Co-Reg List to build Your Own Opt-In List
MLM businesses are all about building networks. The greater
and stronger the network is, more are the gains for
everyone involved. This explains in a great deal why people
in the MLM business are so inclined to get as many leads as
possible.

What's a lead actually? A lead is simply some contact
information (mostly an email id because we are living in
the world of the Internet), which can be pursued to convert
the owner of the information into a customer. The way this
is done is by aggressively pursuing the prospect through
various marketing methods till the time the person gets
interested enough in the product to become a buyer. Hence,
it can be seen that a major part of the success of the MLM
business lies in getting a list of leads.

Now, where can these leads be got from? There are various
lead providers working in the online world, and these
people are willing to sell leads to whosoever may purchase
them. There are various packages they offer - they offer
fresh leads for a higher price. But if you are looking for
cutting costs, you might go for something known as a co-reg
list. Co-reg stands for co-registration. This is where you
can hook with some other MLM owners and purchase the list
of leads, and then share it with your affiliates. If you
are able to get 5 MLM affiliates to buy a co-reg list with
you, you are paying only one-fifth of the cost.

A co-reg list is more like a general list. It is like
shooting an arrow in the dark - it might hit the target or
not. The main point here is to deal with a greater number
of leads, which increases your prospects of getting
potential customers.

But what you actually need for furthering your business is
an opt-in list. An opt-in list is a list of only the people
who are genuinely interested in your business. These are
people who have much greater likelihood of growing your MLM
network.

There are various ways in which you can use a general
co-reg list to build a specific opt-in list for your MLM
business. One way to do this is to communicate with your
co-reg list with autoresponders. These become easy because
you will probably have thousands of people on your co-reg
list and it is virtually impossible and impractical to
communicate with each of them individually. Your
autoresponders will be your channel to provide them with
interesting information that can end up in them becoming
members of your MLM network.

One more way is to provide the people on your co-reg list
with some free offers, which can make them more interested
in your network. You can provide them with a report or an
eBook that can make your business appear more credible to
them, and can also consolidate your position as an MLM
leader.

Just getting a co-reg list is not enough. This is a shared
list, and you have to make your individuality felt in them.
You have to use various tactics like those described above
to build your opt-in list from this co-reg list. That will
ensure a better conversion of your prospects into customers.

Three Tips To A Good Follow Up Email Series

Three Tips To A Good Follow Up Email Series
If you're an online marketer then you know that one of the
keys to success in your home business is "in the list".
Every training course will tell you that and every sponsor
or mentor will preach this to you. But just how do you do
that?

Well first you have to generate traffic to your site...and
that's another entire training course. For now let's assume
that you have an interested prospect. He or she is looking
for something similar to what you sell but there just not
quite ready to buy.

If you capture that name and email address and then do
nothing with that while they are contemplating a purchase,
you can be assured they will go elsewhere and you stand a
very good chance of loosing the sale. So how do you keep
them interested in YOU?

Email -it's a perfect way to stay in front of your
prospects.

There are many new home business owners that fail to follow
up with these prospects for several reasons; one they
simply do not know how and for another they don't know what
to say or how to approach them.

So here are a few guidelines to follow to ensure a good
email follow up series.

Start with a thank you page. Let your customer know that
you received their request and reinforce what they have
purchased or subscribe to. It is also appropriate here to
ask for a confirmation to ensure compliance with any anti
spam laws.

If you are not going to ask for a confirmation then provide
a link to the product or service. Make sure you have them
white list your email so that future correspondence does
not end up in the junk.

Now your email follow up series begins. The most efficient
way to manage this is by using an autoresponder product. If
you are unfamiliar with this go to Awber or GetResponse to
get more information. Put simply they automate the sending
of your emails.

The first email should be sent immediately after your
customer took action. Welcome them again and re-assure them
that they have made a good decision in purchasing your
product or service. Again give them access to any download
links and ask them to keep this email for future reference.

In the second email you should start with mentioning the
product or service again and give a bit more detail on what
they can expect from you in the future. This is a great way
to start branding yourself and building your relationship
with them.

In the third email you can begin to recommend other
products or services you offer as well as other affiliates.
If you start too soon pitching a product you run the risk
of offending your new customer.

The forth email should be nothing more than an offer to
assist them in anyway you can. Give them multiple ways to
contact you and make VERY sure you let them know they are a
valued customer.

Finally continue with this format for -well forever if you
like or until they unsubscribe. It is very important to
balance help and knowledge with sales offers. Keep all your
correspondence casual not stuffy, and be honest. This is
all about relationship building.

Follow these few simple suggestions and you will build a
list of responsive buyers any top marketer will envy.

3 Legitimate Home Business Ideas

3 Legitimate Home Business Ideas
Many people dream of starting a business of their own and
operating it out of their home. This is very easy to do and
in this article we want to look at 3 legitimate home
business ideas that may appeal to you.

1. The first thing we want to talk about is providing a
service. If you can find something that you enjoy doing
that another person would pay you for then you can start a
legitimate home business of your own. There are many
different ways to do this.

For example, if you have kids and want to stay home, you
could start your own daycare center and operate out of your
house. If you have free time you could start a business
where you run errands for people and they pay you to do
things for them such as drop of their dry cleaning, go
grocery shopping for them, walk their dog, and so on.

Another example of a home business idea providing a service
would be to work for yourself in various industries such as
plumbing, heating and cooling, carpet cleaning, and so on.
You could operate your business out of your home, and yet
go to people's homes and provide a service for them.

2. The Internet provides many ways to make money and you
can do them legitimately with your own home business. One
example of this would be network marketing. Many people are
familiar with older companies such as Amway and Shakley.

Today the Internet makes it possible for people to run a
network marketing business from their home without having
to do things the old MLM way. You can set up a totally
automated business and do very little in person sponsoring,
telemarketing, and so on.

The key to making a network marketing business work today
is to provide a unique product that people cannot go down
to the store and buy. For this reason you are seeing more
membership based and information type of network marketing
companies you can start with.

3. A final legitimate home business idea we want to mention
is affiliate marketing. Very simply put, affiliate
marketing is where you get paid to sell other people's
products. If you're familiar with Amazon.com then you will
understand how affiliate marketing works.

What makes this business legitimate is that you are
providing quality products that people need without having
to create those products yourself. Successful affiliate
marketers learn how to market these products on the
Internet and earn large commissions for doing it.

There are many legitimate home business ideas available to
you today. These are three of them and hopefully you will
be able to come up with something that will work for you.

Work from Home as a Network Marketer - Tips for Success

Work from Home as a Network Marketer - Tips for Success
When you work from home as a network marketer, running
around trying to rustle up sales leads is not what you want
to be doing. Fortunately, you do not have to, especially
if you take advantage of the internet as a marketing tool
to draw hot prospects to you. Here are some other tips to
make your business more profitable for you and more
enjoyable for everyone involved.

- Focus on the product first, making money second. If you
are genuinely excited about the product, it is much easier
to attract buyers than if you are just in business for the
money.

- Be ready to share information about your business
wherever you go, should it happen to come up. Have at
least a business card to hand out. But wait for an
opportunity to present itself rather than forcing your
sales talk on people who are not likely to have an interest.

- Learn how to market effectively so your customers find
you. Then you avoid trying to hunt people down so you can
make your pitch. Internet marketing offers endless paths
for people to find you online. An example of an offline
parallel is a listing in the phone book.

- Devote time regularly to marketing your business. Whether
you do this online or via other methods that suit you, make
it a habit to work from home each day to promote what you
are offering.

- Believe that there are many people out there who will be
interested enough to at least talk to you about your
product. Avoid self-defeating thoughts that are probably
not even true.

- Don't ask twice. When calling a telephone lead, talk to
the person once and let him call you back if necessary. If
you call more than once you give the impression that you
need the person's business; instead you want people to feel
that they are the ones who need something.

- Commit the necessary time to mentor those directly under
you and help them learn to succeed. Diligence on your part
will be appreciated and will also set the tone for your
team's expansion.

Whether you are talking to people in person or promoting
your product online, one of your biggest challenges will be
establishing your credibility. For network marketing on
the internet, what you need to do is offer what people are
looking for—information. People online don't want to
be marketed to, they want information that answers a
question or solves a problem. If you can provide the
specific answer they need, you've begun to win their trust.
Once your have discovered how to solidify the
relationship between you and your customers, you are
well-positioned to make your business grow and flourish.

Internet Business Opportunities - How 20 Year Olds Get Rich

Internet Business Opportunities - How 20 Year Olds Get Rich
Sooner or later you may get a feeling that you are looking
for more in life and want to know how to start an online
business. You have decided that there is more out there
than a 9-5 job in a windowless cubicle with a demanding
boss constantly looking over your shoulder.

The life that you want could be just around the corner if
you find the right online business and put your all into
making it a success. But how do you know what will make
your business thrive and what will hurt it?

Well the answer is that you can't know it all but you can
try to avoid common problems that others have encountered.

One of the first things to keep in mind is that many of the
online opportunities will make lots of promises to you to
entice you to try their business.

They want to convince you to invest in their product and
will make misleading statements in an attempt to get what
they want. Please don't hesitate in labeling these
businesses scams, because that is what they are. There is
no way that money will fall in your lap as easily as what
they are claiming.

Find your own resources and do lots of research on the
credibility of each so-called "opportunity" that you find
and the product that they offer. Make sure that you are
interested in the online business and think that it is
something that will be interesting to others as well.

Be realistic and realize that any online business may cost
you some money, but it will be considerably less than
starting a traditional business. Unfortunately, you will
still have to treat this with the same dedication and focus
as you would a traditional business. The money won't just
fall in your lap. You will have to put in the time and
sweat to make your online business succeed.

Start with setting up your office in your home, away from
the hustle and bustle of the house. Set up your computer
and a workspace that will be conducive to actually working.
You will be totally in charge of your schedule for the
first time in your life and this could turn out to be the
biggest enemy to the success of your business if you don't
use those hours productively. It is crucial to keep a
tight schedule, stay focused and directed.

Having your own online business can be rewarding in so many
ways. No longer will you have to answer to a boss, make
that long commute to work or sell products that you don't
believe in.

You get to choose which business you will become a part of
or start your own business completely from scratch. That
is the beauty of it all; it will all be up to you to make
happen. This could also be the downfall if you don't
really put forth the effort for your how to online business.

If you make yourself stay focused, then you might just find
that your dreams of success are just around the next corner
especially when you have a proven system that several
twenty something year olds have used to make hundreds of
thousands of dollars. These types of systems are out there
and available to you, if you know how to find them of
course.

Avoid These Common Search Engine Optimization(SEO) Scams

Avoid These Common Search Engine Optimization(SEO) Scams
Search engine traffic is sought after by many Internet
marketers because of the quality of visitors that search
engines can generate. SEO(Search Engine Optimization) is
an art form that is difficult to master and causes
confusion amongst many. Some SEO companies claim to offer
solutions that will catapult your website's ranking in the
search engines. Before you jump at that opportunity, you
have to understand the real truth behind those bold
promises and guarantees that a lot of these SEO sites are
claiming. Here's some powerful advice to help you clear up
the smoke and mirrors of SEO.

Avoid companies that guarantee you a top ten ranking in the
search engines. These companies may get your site listed
high in the search engine results, but only for keywords
that are unrelated to your website and are almost never
searched for online. Some of these SEO sites are outright
scams that will take your money and disappear. Ranking
well in search engines for the keywords that will bring you
traffic takes the right amount of time and effort. You
simply cannot buy your way to the top...especially not in
the short amount of time that these fraudulent companies
promise.

Don't waste your money on those sites that will submit your
URL to thousands of search engines. It may sound appealing
just thinking about how much traffic you can get from all
of these engines. In reality, a majority of those search
engine sites are tiny and get very little visitors using
them. It's important to realize that most of the searches
done online will originate from Google, Yahoo and MSN
alone. If your favorite isn't listed in this top three,
chances are it's powered by one of them. AOL, for example,
uses Google's index to provide search results to their
users. Many other popular search engines use the indexes
of these big three companies as well. Submitting your
website to Google, Yahoo and MSN is all you really have to
do...and it's free to do it manually.

Ranking well in the search engines is something that should
happen naturally through time tested optimization
techniques. Any company that boasts an unbelievable claim
should be approached with extreme caution or avoided
completely. If it sounds too good to be true, then guess
what? Move on.

There are legitimate SEO companies out there. If you want
to hire one, do the research online. They should be able
to help you optimize your website for the keywords that you
want...not the other way around. Remember, you are paying
them so they should have no problem working with your
interests in mind.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that no one can
guarantee you a top listing in the search engines. SEO
isn't an exact science and search engine companies are
constantly tweaking their criteria for ranking websites.
If you want to increase your chances of ranking well, you
have to do the right research to find the best keywords
that will perform well for your site and learn to use
time-tested, basic fundamentals of Search Engine
Optimization. It could take a few months for your efforts
to pay off, but the reward is high quality traffic that is
prized by Internet entrepreneurs everywhere. Good luck to
you and your success!

3 eBay Classified Ad Tips for more Cash in your Pocket

3 eBay Classified Ad Tips for more Cash in your Pocket
By now you know that eBay's classified ads are great for
filling your bank account with lovely cash, but as the
competition is heating up, it's time to get serious, so
here are three great tips for more profit-pulling ads:

1. Use bullet points in your description. People love
lists and would much rather read a list than a paragraph.
And the more likely your ad is read, the more sales that
you are probably going to make.

So, instead of writing a paragraph or two about why your
product is the greatest thing since the wheel was invented,
break the benefits into point form and create a list from
them. The shorter and more to the point they are the
better. People like to scan more than they like to read.

2. Make sure you tell the customer what to do next -
whether that is to send an email for more information,
click a link - whatever - just tell them what they need to
do.

And while we are on the topic, a big click here button is
sometimes not enough - you need to tell your potential
customer why they are clicking there. Here are some
examples: click here for more information, click here to
learn the secrets to weight loss, click here to send a man
to the moon ... you get the idea.

If there is no call to action in your ad, many eBay
customers will be left scratching their heads since there
isn't a traditional buy now or bid now button like there is
in regular auctions.

3. Think about what people WANT before you choose a product
to promote. It is no good choosing products just because
they sound cool, people must actually want the product
before they are willing to part with their hard earned
money.

So what sort of things do people want? Well I'll give you
some hints - people want to lose weight, they want to fall
in love, they want to make money. They probably don't care
much for an ebook on how to cook toast if you know what I
mean.

While listing a classified ad is much like listing a
regular eBay auction, because buyers are still getting used
to classified ads it's important to tell them exactly what
they need to do to buy from you. The easier you make the
transaction process, the easier the money will start to
flow your way.

8 Tips to Choose an Internet Marketing Coach

8 Tips to Choose an Internet Marketing Coach
There are many ways to make money online and the shortcut
to creating your Internet Income is to follow the guidance
from an Internet Marketing Coach. Here we present you 8
simple ways to find a real online marketing coach.

1. The first factor to consider is to ask how much is the
Internet marketing coach making money online, and if so,
how much?

There is a huge difference for someone making a few
thousands and another one making millions of dollars, each
year. An internet coach that teaches you strategies learnt
from a book is never as useful as one that shows you real
experience of making lots of money online, so it's not a
"textbook" coach that you need.

If you intend to make US$100,000 online, then find a Coach
who makes at least US$1,000,000 from his or her internet
business.

2. If an Internet coach claims that he has made a lot money
online, can he prove it?

Did the Coach show you his or her online income statement?
On the Internet, beware of a lot of bogus claims. It just
takes some simple editing software to change the digits on
a cheque or on a Clickbank statement.

How do you check for this claim then? Visit the website and
understand the nature of business this person is operating.
If he sells a software for US$20 and gets 1,000 sales each
month (totalling to US$20,000 in income), but spends over
US$10,000 in Google Adwords advertising. Then his income
derived will be just US$10,000 and then you need to minus
the percentage of affiliate commissions he is paying (and
for ebooks and digital softwares, it can be as high as
75%). Therefore, even if his affiliate commissions are 50%,
the nett income this person earns is just about US$5,000
right?

3. Is the coach practising what he teaches?

Many self-proclaimed Internet marketing coaches are
"overnight" gurus who have made some money by selling
ebooks or making money information.

Even if an Internet coach can prove he is making money
online, find out what is his main source of income. Most of
the Internet marketing coaches' main income is by selling
making money information, and then by teaching. And if if
they claim you can make millions of dollars without selling
anything, or even without doing any hard work, then you
need to be ultra careful.

If you want to sell physical products, and if the coach
cannot prove he has sold physical products successfully,
how can he be qualified to teach you to do so?

4. Search for the keyword "Internet marketing coach" or
"Internet marketing coaching" in Google or Yahoo.

These keywords represent this industry and their top
rankings are eyed on by millions of Internet marketing
coaches globally and are therefore extremely competitive.

If this coach's website cannot be found on page 1 of the
search results, but he claims he can teach you how to be on
top of search engines, how can he be qualified to do so?

I'm sure you have seen some websites claiming they can
teach you SEO, when their sites can only be found in
sponsored links (meaning they are probably teaching you
search engine advertising and not free search engine
optimization techniques).

But don't get me wrong. Being able to be on top of search
engines for these keywords doesn't guarantee sales (if you
target the wrong keywords), but it gives you the chance to
get free advertising online to your target prospects if you
locate the correct search keywords.

5. What kind of coaching support is the coach providing you?

Due to limited resources, most of them can offer you only
email support, which is the most basic level of support.
How can 1 person support hundreds of students at one time?

You should find someone, or rather a reputable Internet
marketing company, who has perfected an online support
system, such as online members' area with uploaded course
materials, online ticket system for asking and answering
questions, plus support from the technical team.

When and how soon will your Internet Business Coach reply
to your questions? Who answers your questions? An
administrative or sales staff will not have the proper
qualification nor experience to teach you how to get top
rankings in search engines.

6. Can the coach offer you regional support?

For instance, if you want to target the Asian markets?
Does the coach have regional physical offices in other
countries? If you intend to sell to the Chinese, then you
need to translate your website pages into Chinese, and
target local search engines in China and Hong Kong. Does
your Internet Coach have Chinese rankings in top China
search engines such as Baidu and Yahoo.com.cn?

7. Has the coach groomed any successful Internet
entrepreneurs, in selling different types of products,
services and information?

If yes, how successful they are? Has any of their coaching
participants made millions of dollars online? If the
students that are coached, end up only reselling the
Coach's ebooks or softwares, then something must be wrong!

8. Is this coaching program the ONLY one you need to attend?

Is the coach teaching you most of the things you need to
learn to make money online during the seminar or coaching?
Or is he only interested in upselling you to other more
expensive seminars, programs or websites? We have seen many
cases of entrepreneurs signing for a simple US$1,000
internet conference and leaving the 3 days conference with
additional ebooks and videos purchase of US$5,000. In
total, you would have ended up paying US$6,000 right?

Using the tips above, you can look forward to hiring an
efficient real Internet Marketing Coach that can guide you
towards creating your income online.

Five Keys to Success in Network Marketing

Five Keys to Success in Network Marketing
OK! We've all heard that there are many "secrets" to
success in Network Marketing and MLM. We've also heard
that your upline is lying to you and not sharing their
"secrets" about the business and industry. That's all just
horse hockey! The biggest secret about success in this
business and industry is that there isn't any secret.
Surprised? I thought you might be, but it is very true.
Oh! And by the way, your sponsor has a vested interest in
your personal success so he is not going to be lying to you
about what it takes. More on this later.

- Key #1: You! That's right, you. Here's what I mean
about "you." The success or failure you experience in
network marketing and MLM is totally reliant upon you, your
beliefs, your attitude, and the direct actions you take
toward success. You must have a very strong "why" you want
to be in this business and what you want to attain as the
benefits or your efforts. The stronger the why the greater
chance of success. I determined my "why" by completing a
vision statement of how I want my life to be as a result of
my efforts. What my life will look like, smell like, be
like, experience and advantages I will have that I don't
have now. Vision statements will be covered in detail in
another article.

There are many areas of your life you will need to evaluate
to determine what type of product or service you wish to
represent and market. Along with that, the choice of
company is paramount in keeping yourself aligned with your
wants and vision. See yourself as a success with this
company and product. If you can't see it then it won't
happen. Keep searching. You have to be the driving force
behind your success. Yes, there are many other elements
that come into play but "you" are the ultimate key to your
own success.

- Key #2: Product or service. What products or services
get you excited or do you already have a firm foundation of
experience and knowledge? This may or may not take some
time on your part to crystallize. It is as an important
key as any of the others and must be addressed from a
business point of view. Can you make a profit with this
product or service? Is there a ready made market? Is
there exclusivity in the product or service not found in
the general consumer market? Exclusivity is nice but is
also short-lived in this consumer market.

Network Marketing has hundreds of quality products and
services available to you including travel, nutritional,
health, long distance, VIOP, communication, energy, and
many others. Don't make the mistake of following the herd
but then again, don't be too unique that no one has ever
heard of it either. Choosing a product or service to
represent in your home based business is as personal as the
company you select to partner with that has your offering.

- Key #3: Selecting the company that represents and
markets your chosen product or service. This is so
important and requires research, due diligence,
investigation, interviews with existing reps, interviews
with potential sponsors, and following that, oh so
important, "gut feeling." To keep it simple, I will list
for you the requirements that I used to pick my current
company and this may shed some light on what you need to
look for in your company.

*Solid company of five years or older
*A fun, professional, and enthusiastic "culture"
*Competent corporate staff with business management and
NWM/MLM experience on the front lines.
*Exclusive product by quality unmatched in the marketplace
*Products supported by real life studies for efficacy and
quality
*A robust comp plan that is quick to see results and easy
to understand
*Ability to retail products at a reasonable price for
"right now" money
*A quality marketing plan and support tools in place
*Solid and increasing annual sales and distributor growth
*Qualified Upline with proven success and willingness to
share information
*A plan for a successful system to plug into and NOT
reinvent the wheel
*Both company and product recognized in the community for
quality
*Easy online signups and prospect back office tracking
*Company websites provided at no or minimum cost to the
distributor
*Outstanding customer support in knowledge and helpfulness
*No voicemail, phone trees, but "real people" answering the
phones
*Company MUST be distributor oriented with income based on
volume and not on the backs of distributors in the form of
fees etc.

- Key #4: Selecting a sponsor may or may not have a direct
effect on your success but, it may definitely affect your
failure without the correct choice. Many people in the
industry will tell you that your sponsor will not dictate
your success or failure in the business and industry. This
may be true however; I believe having all of the proper
support and guidance is to your best advantage. Once
you've selected a company then begins the process of
determining who is the best fit to have as your sponsor?
Is this person currently working the business? Are they
successful to the point you would like to be someday? Can
you relate to this person and like them? Are they
forthcoming with information, knowledge, experiences so
that you don't have to reinvent the wheel but learn from
their experiences?

A final and very important question regarding the selection
of a qualified sponsor, would you want to take a 30 day
cruise with this person? Think about that for a moment and
the answer will be very revealing.

- Key #5: In addition to the above, is there a viable and
robust training/marketing system in place and a viable and
robust team for support and interaction? All of this lends
itself to a further advantage toward success provided the
previous keys have been taken seriously and good decisions
made. You don't want to be left out to stand on your own
but want a group of like minded people to interact and
learn from their experiences. You want to feel part of a
successful team, almost like a family.

As for the training/marketing system, do you want to have
to create that all by yourself or would you rather have it
up and running and productive from day one. Look for video
and audio training, sizzle lines, 800#s, contact management
back office, auto responders, existing sizzle messages,
emails, and auto responder messages. All of this will save
you a great deal of time, shorten the learning curve, allow
you to focus on building your business, and increasing your
ROI (Return On Investment).

OK then! By accomplishing the above keys you have started
out on a strong path to becoming successful in your own
home based business in network marketing and MLM. I know
this looks like a great deal of effort but starting a
business is not a flippant decision and needs to be
researched in many areas to give you the best chance of
success. Above all, you want to have fun in the process of
doing. In a later article I will discuss "learn, doing,
learn, and being."

How To Get A Better Search Engine Ranking

How To Get A Better Search Engine Ranking
The success of your home business is mostly dependent upon
your visibility on the Internet. What does this mean? Let
me explain...

When you or any other person searches for something on the
Internet, they choose three to four words or keyword
phrases and type these in a search engine browser. When
you do this, many web pages containing the keywords you
searched on are displayed. Often the results returned may
include hundreds, thousands or even millions of pages.

Web sites that rank on the first couple pages get a
tremendous amount of exposure to web searchers because the
majority of people simply will not continue to review
results past the 2nd or 3rd page.

This is one of the main reasons why you need to consider
ways to improve your search engine rankings if you are
serious about owning a successful web site.

Here are some simple tips that can improve your search
engine rank quickly

1. Keywords are very important and the very first stepping
stone in achieving SEO (search engine optimization) is
choosing the right keywords to optimize your site. There
are many popular keyword search tools for this purpose that
will help you to find hundreds of potential keyword
phrases. Aim to choose keywords that have a good number of
daily searches, but are not so competitive that it will be
difficult to achive a high search engine rank. Wordtracker
is an excellent tool to use for this purpose.

2. Position your keywords in the right places on your web
page. A better search engine rank can be achieved if the
main keywords are placed in areas such as the title tag, in
the main heading and subheading tags, throughout the body
of your web pages and the alt attribute of image text. It
can also help if your keywords are in the domain name.

3. Content is king and in order to have your page achieve a
good search engine rank, you need to write (or purchase)
fresh original content. When your website's content is
updated regularly the search engine spiders will return
more regularly and index the pages on your website website.
Ensure that your content is exceptional so that not only
the search engines like it, but people do as well.

4. Obtaining links from content relevant websites is
essential and can have an extremely significant impact on
your search engine ranking. Your website's popularity is
measured by the importance and number of other similar and
established websites that link to your website. The more
websites linking out to you, the higher your website will
climb in the seach engine rankings. You can also build
backlinks by joining different discussion forums and
communities which relate to your website, distributing
articles with an author resource box linking to your
website, submitting your site to directories, commenting on
websites and blogs and exchanging links with other
webmasters..

These are just some of the ways that can help you to get a
better search engine ranking. You need to understand that
SEO is a must if you want good, targeted, free traffic to
your website. Before you call in experts, remember that
most of the SEO techniques you can learn and do yourself.
If you do call in SEO experts be prepared to pay quite a
bit of money.

How Does a Search Engine Rank Your Page?

How Does a Search Engine Rank Your Page?
Every smart Search Engine Optimiser starts his or her
career by looking at Web pages with the eye of a search
engine spider. Once the optimiser is able to do that, the
journey becomes a lot easier.

The first thing to remember is that the search engines rank
"pages", not "sites". What this means is that you will not
achieve a high ranking for your site by attempting to
optimise your main page for twenty different keyword
phrases. However, different pages of your site will appear
up the list for different key phrases if you optimise each
page for just one of them. If you can't use your keyword in
the domain name, no problem - use it in the URL of some
page within your site, e.g. in the file name of the page.
This page will rise in relevance for the given keyword. All
search engines show you URLs of specific PAGES when you
search - not just the root domain names like
www.marketing-scamfree.com but the paths like
www.marketing-scamfree.com/products.html

Second, understand that the search engines do not see the
graphics and JavaScript dynamics your page uses to
captivate visitors. You can use a graphic image of written
text that says you sell 20 red roses at $47. But it does
not tell the search engine that your website is related to
the sale of red roses' unless you use an ALT attribute
where you write about it.

Therefore you could easily have a wonderful graphic with a
picture of roses followed by the text "20 beautiful red
roses at only $47", but the search engine will only see the
following:

..img_src=".../images/sale_red_roses.png" width="250"
height="100" class="image"...

As you see there's nothing in the code which could tell the
search robots that the content relates to "Red Roses",
"Sale", or "Beautiful". The situation will change if we
rewrite the code like this:

...img_src="/images/sale_red_roses.png" width="250"
height="100" alt="Sale of Beautiful Red Roses"
class="image" ...

As you can see we've added the ALT attribute with the value
that corresponds to what the image tells your visitors.
Initially, the "alt" attribute was meant to provide
alternative text for an image that for some reason could
not be shown by the visitor's browser. Nowadays it has
acquired one more function - to bring the same message to
the search engines that the image itself brings to human
Web surfers.

The same concerns the usage of JavaScript. Look at these
two examples:

Visit our page about discounted floral arrangements!

script_language="JavaScript"
type="text/javascript"><!--document.write("Visit our page
about " + goods[Math.round(0.5 +(3.99999 *
Math.random()))-1]); -->

The first example is what visitors see, the second is the
source code script that produces the output. Assume the
search engine spider is intelligent enough to read the
script (however, actually not all the spiders do); is there
anything in the code that can tell it about the discounted
floral arrangements? Absolutely none!

As a rule, search engine spiders have a limit on loading
page content. For instance, the Googlebot will not read
more than 100 KB of your page, even though it is instructed
to look whether there are keywords at the end of your page.
So if you use keywords somewhere beyond this limit, this is
invisible to spiders. Therefore, you may want to acquire
the good habit of not overloading the HEAD section of your
page with scripts and styles. Better link them from outside
files, because otherwise they just push away your important
textual content.

There are many more examples of relevancy indicators a
spider considers when visiting your page, such as the
proximity of important words to the beginning of the page.
Here, as well, the spider does not necessarily see the same
things a human visitor would see. For instance, a left-hand
menu pane on your Web page. People visiting your site will
generally not first pay attention to this, focusing instead
on the main section. The spider, however, will read your
menu before passing to the main content - simply because it
is closer to the beginning of the code.

Remember: during the first visit, the spider does not yet
know which words your page relates to! Keep in mind this
simple truth. By reading your HTML code, the spider (which
is just a computer program) must be able guess the exact
words that make up the theme of your site.

Then, the spider will compress your page and create the
index associated with it. To keep things simple, you can
think of this index as an enumeration of all words found on
your page, with several important parameters associated
with each word: their proximity, frequency, etc.

Certainly, no one really knows what the real indices look
like, but the principals are as they have been outlined
here. The words that are high in the list according to the
main criteria will be considered your keywords by the
spider. In reality, the parameters are quite numerous and
include off-the-page factors as well, because the spider is
able to detect the words every other page out there uses
when linking to your page, and thus calculate your
relevance to those terms also.

When a Web surfer queries the search engine, it pulls out
all pages in its database that contain the user's query.
And here the ranking begins: each page has a number of
"on-the-page" indicators associated with it, as well as
certain page-independent indicators (like PageRank). A
combination of these indicators determines how well the
page ranks.

It's important to keep this in mind: after you have made
your page attractive for visitors, ask yourself whether you
have also made it readable for the search engine spiders.
In the lessons that follow, we will provide for you
detailed insight into the optimisation procedure; however,
try to keep in mind the basics you've learned here, no
matter how advanced you become.
