There is always a lot of talk about home businesses, and

stock of your business and know when enough is enough -
meaning - when do you stop trying to make it work, and

This is often one of the hardest business-related decisions
that anyone has to make. There are going to be many times
when a person fails to recognize that their business has

make sure that your business is going to work out. Often
the ones that are closest to something have it the hardest
when it comes to seeing that the thing they love so much
has failed. How do you step away and make sure that you can

always keeping good records. Therefore, you can make a
good decision about what to do next. You need to be able to
see your business growing as you have come along. Good
records are very important so that you can see if you are
doing better or worse. They are also important because if
your business goes through a slump you can look back and
see if this is a yearly occurrence, and if it will come
back in a few weeks. Good records can help you make sure
that no matter what you do, you are doing for the business
and for what the business needs. So, keep clear and concise
records, and keep making sure that you are able to know
exactly where your business is headed.

Next, you also have to make sure that you have good goals
towards which you can steer your business. You want to set
goals for growth that you can meet, and you want to be sure
that you are keeping track of when you are meeting them and
whether you are doing better or worse than you thought you
would do. This is a very important factor in making sure
that you are able to know when to keep working, and when to
step away and possibly rework your business plan. You
should make sure you have enough information all of the
time.

Sometimes taking a hard and difficult look at your business
plan can determine what your future will be. If you can
see the progress based on records and sales, you can
continue to move forward. If you see no progress and
continue to spend more money than you are earning, you will
need to rework your plan. Don't be affraid to ask for
help. Sometimes calling a mentor or business associate is
all you need to get your plan going in the right direction.
Asking for help is not failure. If you know what you want
as your end goal, all you need to do is figure out how to
get there. Whether it's changing your website, advertising
strategies or starting over from scratch, your desire to
succeed will determine how you approach it all. Just don't
be affraid to change your plan as you move along. It could
be the difference of meeting your goals faster and finally
living the life you dreamed about.

There are many ways to advertise on the Interent. Below is
the one of the quickest and easiest ways to advertise that
I highly recommend for someone just starting out. I teach
you more advanced advertising methods in the "Do It
Yourself" area... but for now, lets learn to "walk" before
we try to learn how to "run".

Ezine solo and classified ads.

An "ezine" is slang for electronic magazine. An ezine is
similar to the magazines you would purchase at your local
book store but the differences are that an ezine is
normally distributed though e-Mail and they normally only
have 1 article at a time.

Just like a normal magazine an ezine has classified ads in
them that you can purchase spots in and advertise.

Ezines also will allow you to send a "solo email" or "solo
ad" to their subscribers. This costs more than "classified
ads" but will have a higher response and potentially make
you a lot more sales than running classified ads. Why is
that? Because with a "solo ad" the ezine's readers will
only see your ad... thus the reason it is titled as a "solo
ad"... it runs solo on it own. Where as a "classified ad"
runs in conjuction within the content of the ezine's
published article as well as several other classified ads
purchased by the ezines other advertisers. Don't worry,
this will all make more sense as you go along.

As a good example, look at your "classified ads" section in
your local newspaper. See how all those classified ads run
together? Even though that newspaper has tens of thousands
of readers, it's hard to make all of those readers focus
all of their attention on just one classified ad because
all the classified ads are put together on one page.

A solo ad would be similar to having your ad put on the
front page of the newspaper, only better. Why is it better?
Because it's the only content sent to the readers at that
time. No other articles, no other ads... just your solo ad.
So it makes all the readers focus their attention on your
ad. Pretty great, eh?

There are thousands of E-zines on the Internet.

Here are tips and suggestions on what to look for when
deciding in which E-zines and Classifieds to advertise;

How to find E-zines manually. You can go to any search
engine such as Google.com or Yahoo.com and simply search
for "ezine directory". You will receive results on several
e-zine directories that contain thousands of e-zines all
sorted out by category and/or niche. You can also do a
search using a keyword of the niche your product is in and
the word ezine. For example... Let's say you are promotion
a product that helps people fix their golf swing. You could
type in the phrase "golf ezine" in your favorite search
engine and get many results for ezines that are in the golf
niche. Contact the publisher. A professional e-zine
publisher will expect you to contact them either by email
and/or by phone. If the publisher does not respond in a
professional time frame (i.e. 24-48 hours) then most likely
they are not very serious about their business. How much
does it cost to advertise? Posting an advertisement can
cost anywhere between free and $8,000.00. Chances are that
if advertising is free, there is some other catch or the
E-zine is simply not very popular. However, if you spend
quality time researching, you will never need to spend more
than fifty dollars to two hundred on advertising. How many
subscribers does it have? You want to spend your
advertising money somewhere where you will have thousands
of people read it, not just a hundred or two. How often
does the E-zine go out? You want the E-zine to go out in
either a weekly or bi-weekly or monthly format. How soon
can they get your advertisement out? Expect to wait a few
days, weeks or even months for your advertisement to go
out. A professional e-zine will have a very busy schedule.
This means that they have a large clientele and repeat
customers. Obviously, if their service is bad, their
previous customers will not come back to purchase more
advertising with them. If the publisher says they can get
your advertisement out the same day or within 24 hours, be
skeptical. Make sure to do your research. Just one good
advertising resource is worth tens of thousands of dollars
in reliable future profits. How responsive are the
subscribers? Spend a little time researching the
subscribers to the E-zine. Do they purchase often? Do they
enjoy the E-zine? Are the advertisements relevant? Make
sure that the product you are advertising relates to the
E-zine. Don't bother advertising gardening tools in a
Classic Auto E-zine.
