How To Generate Traffic Using Only Free Methods
What Do You Need To Start Online Affiliate Marketing Business?
There are many people that get online to start their own
internet business but they don't know what they need to get
started. It is important to know what you need if you want
to start online affiliate marketing business of your own.
You can find out exactly what you need with a little bit of
research. However, to help you get started, here are some
of the things that you will need right away.
One: The right home business for you. Most people think
that you only need tools to make a business successful.
This is not true at all. You have to start a business that
you enjoy and are passionate about. The more you enjoy your
business the easier it will be to achieve success. When you
don't like what you choose to do then you will find it very
hard to work on your internet business. So the first thing
you have to do is to make sure you start your business with
something that you really enjoy.
Two: The next thing you will need is a website. This is a
must have if you want to start online affiliate marketing
business the right way. A lot of the opportunities online
will give you a website to use when you first sign up with
them. Not all of them do though so you want to check to see
if the opportunity will provide this for you or not. If
they don't then you can always build your own website or
hire someone to do it for you.
Three: The third thing you will need is internet marketing
help. There are so many different ways that you can use to
advertise your internet business. You don't want to try any
of them until you learn how to do them effectively. This
will save you lots of time and work. So you always want to
find some internet marketing help either with forums,
eBooks, guides or anything else you can find that will
teach you.If you have access to a person who has success in
the type of business that you intend starting and they are
willing to help you then you are well on the way to
profitability. The more you are willing to learn, the more
success you will have.
These are all very important if you want to start online
affiliate marketing business of your own. Most people think
starting a business at home is all about the tools you need
and things like that. They don't realize that a lot of your
success will be due to you choosing the right business for
you and getting educated about marketing it.
Business tools are important but they are not THE most
important. So now that you know what it takes you can start
your internet business the right way from the beginning.

Discover The Top 3 Crucial Tips You Must Know To Create Powerful Headlines and Stop Losing Sales
Your website copy has several very important jobs. The
first and most important job is to draw readers into your
site. Additionally it has to answer questions, sell your
product or service, get people to join a mailing list and
more.
To make sure you are writing power copy that is sure to
grab your prospects attention and make them beg for what
you have, I am going to share some copywriting tips and
secrets.
Let's get started with the first and most important
element...
Headlines like this one:
"Discover The Top 3 Crucial Tips You Must Know To Create
Powerful Headlines and Stop Losing Sales"
With only a few seconds to grab the attention of your site
visitor and pull them into your site, your headline is the
most important element of your website.
Many people think of their website as a store, and they
open with "Welcome." After all if you have a store and
someone walks in, you are going to welcome them to your
store. This is a mistake for websites. Let me explain.
When someone lands on your site, they are not actually in
your store yet. They are standing outside your store - they
are looking at the sign and the window display and trying
to decide if they want to come in.
Your headline is your sign and your window display - it is
what has to entice visitors to come in and browse.
It is only once they start reading your copy and checking
out what you have to offer (clicking other links, looking
at pictures etc) that they are actually in your store.
So, you could have great copy, wonderful products or
services at great prices, an exciting offer or breaking
news and it just doesn't matter unless people read it.
Don't fool yourself into thinking your site doesn't need a
headline. It may not be a "sales letter site"; you may look
at it as a catalog site or an information brochure site -
but either way it doesn't matter. You need a compelling
headline to get people to come in and look around.
A lot of time, effort and research (testing) have gone into
writing the perfect headline. Please remember that you
should test different headlines and see what works for you.
To get you started, here are the Top 3 things you must
know....
1. You may be familiar with AIDA. It stands for Attention,
Interest, Desire and Action. It means you have to remember
to: capture your reader's attention, arouse their interest,
increase their desire and lead them to take some kind of
action. All are important pieces of the puzzle. You have to
remember with a headline, the action you want them to take
at this point is just to keep reading. Let's explore
increase their desire. What that really means is to elicit
an emotional response from them. People buy based on
emotion. In addition to desire, another great motivator is
fear. In face, fear of loss is a greater motivator than
desire to gain.
So, the key to remember is that you want to illicit an
emotional response for the reader. Let's look at my
headline as a sample of using fear.
Look at the headline I used on this article "Discover The
Top 3 Crucial Tips You Must Know To Create Powerful
Headlines ...." - the first part can cause people to feel
uncomfortable (fear) - they don't want to be the only one
that doesn't know! And then I added "to Stop Losing Sales"
which creates an even stronger element of fear. No one
wants to lose sales, so they are going to read further and
find out what they need to know.
Let's look at the process many new writers go through when
writing headlines. Here are some sample variations of my
headline.
First draft:
Information You Need About Headlines - This is short, to
the point and tells people what they can expect. However
there is nothing exciting, it does mention information "you
need" but it just doesn't have enough of an impact to
really cause people to feel they are missing something.
Draft 2....
The Most Important Information You Must Have About
Headlines - This is getting better but it is still not
right. You are implying there is a lot of information out
there and telling them that you have the most important
information. It is still too vague though, so let's take
another stab and make it more specific.
Draft 3...
The Top 3 Things You Must Know About Headlines - This is
more direct and makes people feel like there are some very
important and specific pieces of information they need to
have. This has now created an element of fear - fear that
they are going to miss out on knowing the Top 3most
important things. Of all the things there are to know,
these 5 are the things that must know, no matter what.
And finally, the last version:
Discover The Top 3 Crucial Tips You Must Know To Create
Powerful Headlines and Stop Losing Sales - I have added
another element to be afraid of. Now people are not only
afraid of what they don't know but they are also afraid of
losing sales because of it. I also added a verb at the
start and jazzed up the wording to create more of an impact.
2. Use action words - verbs! Telling people what to go
encourages readership and guides them. You can use words
like:
Discover Find Get Learn Join See Read Etc An example would
be: "Discover Top Weight Loss Secrets" instead of just
saying "Top Weight Loss Secrets". You are telling them what
to do - they need to discover the information. It is
implied that they will do so by reading your content.
3. Don't be too vague, however you also don't want the
headline to act as a summary of the content and go into
great detail.
This headline doesn't give away any details information,
it's not a summary of the content - but it still tells in
very descriptive words what they can expect - so it arouses
their curiosity. People want to know what these little
known methods are.
So, when considering length, don't purposely make it long
or short - simply make it the length it needs to be to
properly grab attention, get prospects interested, increase
their desire and get them to take action.
Sample headline:
How The 'Top Guns' of Internet Marketing Quietly Drive
Truckloads of Targeted Traffic To Their Sites With These
Little Known, But Lethally Powerful Methods"

A Work From Home Business - Can it Work for You?
Consider network marketing if you are looking to start a
business from home. You can begin earning money quickly as
you are taught how to sell a certain product or line of
products and recruit others to join your team. Most of the
legitimate network marketing programs are low-risk, and
they may turn into something you can continue as a way
supplement your income. Without having to develop your own
product or start your marketing campaign from scratch you
can begin to work from home to build a profitable business.
First you need to find a network marketing program and
product that you like so much you want to share it with
others. If you don't care about what you are selling and
are only trying network marketing to make lots of money for
yourself, you will probably turn off potential customers.
Others will begin sensing your self-serving motives as you
approach them. They don't want to be swindled. To succeed
at network marketing, you instead need to inspire others to
believe that the product has real value. Once they are
persuaded about the product, they can start to see the
advantages of taking the opportunity to promote it. Your
enthusiasm, if it is genuine, is what will persuade people
to buy and sign up to sell with your team.
For network marketing to work for you, it is also important
that you enjoy both aspects—selling your product and
recruiting others to join you in selling. You need to
continue selling your product to remain an example of
success to those in your downline. The best network
marketing programs realize how important selling their
product is for cultivating success. Sales of the product
are the ultimate source of income for you and those down
the line. Your business is on shaky ground if people are
focusing more on recruiting than selling the product or
service they are supposedly offering. It may eventually
become necessary to limit the number of representatives or
affiliates if a market nears saturation. Again, don't lose
sight of what you are offering your customers ' the
benefits of your product. The possibility to expand your
team and find new customers can continue for as long as
there are people in your target market that haven't been
reached yet.
If you are a person who is truly convinced of the value of
your product and wants to work from home, you should
explore the advantages of network marketing further. When
you have what it takes to excel at selling your product and
enjoy getting others to believe that they can succeed in
doing what you do, network marketing can be a great
opportunity for you. In addition to the advantages for
themselves, the best network marketers recognize the
benefits they can offer the company and their downline.
But perhaps most importantly, they see and promote the
value they deliver to their customers who form the basis of
their marketing success.

Email Marketing Mistake #1, 2, 3 & 4
What happened this week was an unsuspecting new business to
the area was trying to drum up some new business, right?
Sounds simple.
But what they did, ended up being not only a CUSTOMER
SERVICE AND PUBLICITY NIGHTMARE. But depending on how they
"clean it up", it could be a huge CREDIBILITY KILLER as
well.
Now, I'm not going to mention their name because I ended up
talking with them and they are generally very nice; they
just made an ASTRONOMICAL EMAIL MISTAKE.
So, being a new business, they thought they'd start by
email blasting out all the businesses in the local Chamber
of Commerce about their B2B service they offer. That
probably seemed like the quickest, easiest thing to do (in
their mind).
They probably went on to the chamber website and cut and
pasted all the email addresses they could find because I'm
a member there and I know they don't sell that list. So,
tons of time spent doing this, right?
Well, yesterday, I received an email from these folks with
the word "newsletter" in the subject line (I knew I had to
talk to them about that for one), opened it up and read a
little bit. It was basically a text message about their
services with a couple links to their website mixed in but
no other 'real' content.
The email had a message at the bottom saying people could
unsubscribe by replying with the word unsubscribe in the
subject line. It wasn't personalized with any one's name or
email address though to contact.
It started out though by a "Welcome to our first
newsletter" message which I thought was weird since I
didn't remember meeting anyone from that company recently.
But knowing I could be mistaken since I do talk to a lot of
people each week, I thought I would reply and ask them
where we met.
So, I replied (only to the one person who sent it to me of
course in the TO line, not to the 'reply all' button).
I asked them if we met at a recent event. Then I also
mentioned that I help small businesses with their email
marketing campaigns and theirs was breaking a few sp'am
laws - FYI. I told them about my service for that briefly
and sent it off.
They responded back (good to know they weren't a spam piece
themselves thankfully). We had a dialog back and forth a
couple times (this was pretty late Tuesday night).
I thought nothing of it but hmmm, maybe I'll get a new
client and help them maximize their email marketing
campaign?
Then the following morning (today - Wednesday) bright and
early I started getting calls....
Now for some of you who know me, it's rare to ever catch me
anywhere before 10:00 am, much less on the phone even
before my coffee BUT at 7:30 am the phone started ringing,
and ringing, and ringing. After the 3rd call before 8:30 am
(of course I wasn't answering but ...) I figured something
was up. I stumbled to my computer and found a bunch of
emails and a few messages from angry soles who had been
receiving every correspondence between the two of us the
night before.
I quickly learned that somehow the "reply" button wasn't
just replying to the one person who sent the newsletter to
me in the first place but it was going to EVERYONE they
sent it to. WOW! People kept saying unsubscribe me, delete
me from your list, etc. Now, for someone like me to get
those when I do this weekly ezine myself I thought I better
do something because these people think these messages are
coming from me - and I'm the one trying to FIX THE PROBLEM!
Apparently what had happened was he accidentally somehow
programmed the reply address to reply to all (no idea how,
he's a techie though).
So, I first listened to the messages, one was from another
marketing colleague who understood what was happening and
she was alerting me which was nice but the other woman was
pretty irate. I called her back to let her know that it
wasn't me, it was another company and I'd call them to
figure it out but by then I had already pulled up the
company's website and gave her their phone number.
When I called the guy I had emailed with, he was actually
expecting my call, it was funny. I kind of felt sorry for
the guy really as he probably had a REALLY, REALLY BAD DAY.
I told him this was going to be detrimental to his
business' success, especially since he just messed with the
whole entire chamber of commerce! I urged him to call the
chamber right away and explain the situation, gave him the
number and the person to contact because they don't take
spamming lightly at this chamber. It would help his chances
of not getting black-balled if this got around to them;
plus I also suggested he joined as soon as possible too. (I
even volunteered to introduce him around to smooth things
out if need be - always giving, that's what I do.)
He actually felt so bad I believe he finally emailed
everyone back one by one to admit and explain his mistake.
Which was good for me because the calls weren't stopping. I
had to change my voice mail and not answer the phone for
the first half of the day - I left a detailed message
explaining the issue with the "newsletter" email blast and
gave out the company's number to call even.
Luckily, the calls and emails stopped. He dismantled the
email address and the list and I might get a customer out
of the whole ordeal.
So, a few lessons to learn here are:
- Do not cut and paste random email addresses into any
email blast you are sending
- Do not use Outlook to send large email blasts or
newsletters (many reasons why)
- Do not send any email blasts to people you don't know
(only about .01% of companies will do well with this)
- Do not send out sales pitches disguised as newsletters
(you can send out sales blasts to your list but send them
separately from your regular newsletter and make sure you
explain what you're doing)
- Do not put email addresses of those you are sending email
blasts to in the TO or CC line of your email, put them all
in the BCCCC line (if you MUST use Outlook, which I don't
recommend).
- Do explain what you are doing when you send out your
first newsletter - how you know them, why you put them on
your list, what you plan on telling them in upcoming
issues, how they will benefit, what you will offer, etc.
- Do put complete contact information in every email
- Do put easy opt-out links in every email - not a message
telling them to reply with unsubscribe in the subject line
- many people are afraid to do that in case your email is
spam in the first place and they might get a virus.
- Do use a professional, preferably online, email marketing
program to send all your email newsletters, blasts and
sales pitch blasts - I highly recommend subscribing to the
one I use, Constant Contact; it's affordable, easy to use,
follows all the spam laws and you can easily track all
emails sent, opened, clicked through, etc.
- Finally, if you don't want to or can't figure how to get
this all going CORRECTLY on your own, I can help you set it
up and brainstorm what you're going to say, how to say it
and how to really attract the attention of your contact
list on a regular basis in order to get more repeat and
referral business - GUARANTEED! Find out about my Easy
Ezine Set Up Service using Constant Contact now.
Ok, so that's all I have to say about that, I hope that you
tread very lightly with your next email marketing campaign.
But I don't want to scare you off from doing one. My emails
bring me lots of business every week! They also allow me to
stay on top of the minds of everyone on my list every week
because everyone on that list has to either read me or
delete me! Rarely do they "unsubscribe" since I give so
much valuable info.
I just want you to do your email campaigns in a way that is
professional, effective and helpful to the user. I really
can help you get one going in no time so what are you
waiting for?

MLM vs Direct Sales
Let's get one thing out in the open. Nobody likes to be
sold.
So what should you do if no one likes to be sold? Try
asking your prospect if they mind if you ask them a couple
of questions. This is to see if it's a good idea that you
do business today. Why? Because it opens the door to a
conversation about their needs, and everyone loves to talk
about themselves, it's their favorite subject!
In direct sales, this part would be easy because you are
probably meeting face-to-face or at least over a telephone
conference call. But what if you are meeting through the
Internet? You could set up a 'chat' time and ask questions
and get answers that way, or, you could set up an on-line
forum where people leave comments and feedback about their
experiences with your product or services. This will open a
dialog with the customer and then you will be able to read
their 'wants' if not ask for them.
With multi level marketing, some companies have the system
already set up for you and you just join as an affiliate
and make money off the last person to join and then the
person who joins after you will make money off your sales
and so on and so on.
If they give you a website or you have a website and you
can write, write articles and post them to your website.
Post them to other peoples website, there are several
Internet sites where you can post articles for free and if
you've used the correct keyword density, you will increase
your WebPages rankings in the search engines and that is
what online marketing systems are all about, getting better
rankings on the search engines.
Join a number or newsletters and groups that pertain to
your products or services and if they allow posting of
messages, use that to announce such things as new products
you are selling ' however, never, ever spam ' use the
messages to announce a new article you've written that will
help people solve a marketing problem that you have tried
yourself.
As a marketer, you must make it your priority to obtain a
high ranking on the major search engines such as MSN,
Google and Yahoo. Learn as much as you can about search
engine optimizer or SEO and then try to increase your
ranking on a weekly basis.
You need to spend 75 percent of your time on marketing your
affiliate programs and 25 percent of your time on working
on them. The majority of people only spend about 10 to 20
percent of their time on promoting and marketing their
affiliate programs and this is where they are loosing
money. Affiliate programs will make you money if you put in
the time and work hard at it.
There has always been a sort of negative connotation
regarding affiliate marketing and multi level marketers
because people want to buy from the original seller, not
some affiliate. And this makes no sense because when you
set up your website and the visitor clicks on the website
of the person you are selling for, they go directly to
their website. The only indication you are an affiliate is
that you have their web address on your website.

Internet Marketing Using The Social Media Strategy
Social media implies that you facilitate a two-way
discussion, rather than a one-way bombardment of marketing
messages. In short, this means that you stay engaged and in
a discussion with visitors.
Social Media sites come and go like the wind. It seems like
every 5 seconds some entrepreneur is just around the corner
with another Digg or del.icio.us knockoff.
Hoping that whatever maneuver they can bring to the table
will make them this week's hot topic or at least clever
enough to catch the eye of whomever might have some money
and want to absorb some wicked bit of code or an entire
social media community.
Social media (or new media) involves a LOT of things, a lot
of tech, and could need a lot of resources (not necessarily
money). When you say you do social media, and you want to
launch a network of some sort, does that mean the entire
process is done in-house?
Social media marketing can bring traffic and links to any
website. Too often, marketers overlook the value of social
media and tend to stick with traditional methods, while the
younger generation of webpreneurs has employed social sites
as an every-day strategy.
Social media is gowing at a such a rate that domains,
websites and blogsites will increase in value due to the
increased demand for webspace. The social aspect is driving
the net into new territory and expands exponentially
because of its viral nature.
Social media - as understood in a Web 2.0 context and has
enabled us to play more effectively than was practical
previously, on a global field.
Social Media has released us, freed us: and we won't go
back. Social media has been a great resource for both ideas
and traffic for my blog. If you work and get noticed in
social media and it gets passed around that's a great way
to promote your work.
Social media seek's (in theory and in word, at least) a
different kind of influence: peer review and approval. The
medium and the form of discourse that it supports are wide
open.
Social Media is a Branding Exercise - while social media
sites can send you a lot of traffic very very quickly they
can also be excellent places to do branding. Every time a
reader or potential reader comes across you on a social
media site the more you reinforce your brand.
Social media marketing is actually becoming necessary but
it has to be done right. It is about the weight of numbers
and it will bring some honesty, ethics and accountability
back to doing business.
Social Media is conversational media in all its interactive
forms including text, video and spoken words - whether face
to face, over the Internet, over the airwaves or via mobile
technologies such as iPods and cell phones.
A Social Media Club is intended to be a place where
amateurs and professionals can come together to learn from
one another, to understand each other and to work together
on the things that make meaning in their lives - their
personal passions, their professional endeavours and their
noble pursuits.
Social Media, doesn't even really exist as a subset of
media. Everything is social now, we just expect it. Social
media companies will race to provide metrics that show
impressive results, but that's not necessarily a good
thing, especially given the ways measurement may shape
investment and in turn shape the evolution of social
mediums.
Social media campaign's go far beyond the traditional
agency model of media planning and buying. So do
advertisers they actually get into the game and get their
campaign's out there.
Social media is changing the way online businesses
advertise because control of the message is shifting to the
consumer.
Social Media Optimization (SMO) is a new term that was
recently coined by Rohit Bhargava and has since been taking
on life of its own. SMO tactics can drive huge amounts of
people to a website and can also determine whether a
startup, website or idea will make it or not.
Social media will be the optimal place to market especially
with a recession. Social networks are a rich source of
HIGHLY niche audiences and therefore are highly target-able.

Newbies: Beware the `Free Trial' Pitfall!
When I started out as a total newbie about a year ago, I
made several blunders that cost me a lot of time and money.
One of my major blunders was signing up blindly for `free
trials' just because they were free! You know the ones
that ask you for your credit card details, saying that
"this is for record purposes only and your card will not be
charged".
I made a huge mistake once when I signed up for a one-month
free trial program. I had expected that when the one-month
was up I would get a notification saying that my free-trial
period was up and ask me to confirm if I wanted to continue.
But I received no such notification, in fact not even an
email confirming that the sum had been charged. Instead it
was only when I received my next month's credit card
statement that I learnt that I had been charged $99. Now
as a newbie just starting out online, I could ill-afford
the money, especially as it was to be a monthly recurring
payment!
So I frantically looked around for a way to cancel. Being
a naïve newbie, I had not read any instructions on
cancellation procedures! In fact I had totally forgotten
about signing up. I could not remember my username and
password.
But somehow after several tries, I managed to log-in to
their website and contacted someone at their help desk.
When I asked why I had not been notified, the reply was:
`It was already stated in the free trial offer you signed
up for!'. When I asked to cancel, I was directed to
another department, before I finally managed to cancel the
subscription!
Costly lesson learned - always read the fine print!
If a program says `one-week free trial', immediately check
the fine print to see what happens after the one week is
up. How much would you have to pay? Would it be a monthly
recurring billing? Would it be automatically charged to
your credit card or PayPal? What are the cancellation
procedures? And so on.
The above caution also applies to those `$1 Trial' programs.
Note that I am not saying that all these progams are scams
or would not work!
A lot of legitimate programs out there are good, but the
question is good for whom? They might be wonderful for an
internet expert looking to expand his business but be
totally unsuitable for a newbie.
As a matter of fact, there are also some programs out there
that can be ideal for newbies. These programs do coach the
newbie step-by-step in the basics of building an online
business.
However the onus is on you, before you purchase or sign up.
Remember the phrase `caveat emptor' which means `buyer
beware'! You have to be clear about what your intention is
when starting your online business. You have to be very
focused, very selective and must ask questions such as
these:
* Is this what I really need at this moment? Will it help
with my just-begun business or would it be useful only at a
later stage?
* How much does it cost? One-time payment or monthly?
* How do I cancel?
In conclusion, I am not saying that you must avoid all free
trials! Just be more discerning.
If you do find one that is up-front about the cost and is
something you really need (like webhosting, auto-responder
etc.) by all means do take advantage of the trial period to
test-drive the system.

Determination and Passion are the SECRETS to Residual Income Success
Many people who claim they have the secret to guaranteed
residual income and make a lot of money online. They say it
is a process or system.
They may charge you a large sum of money for the secret or
they give it away because they want the people to whom they
give it to become a part of their online home based
business opportunity. What they are really offering is just
a chance to join their home based businss opportunity so
they can make more money online. This is not such a great
secret and definitely not the one true secrets to
guaranteed residual income.
To guaranteed residual income and make money online, you
must have attitude. Every person that has ever been
successful in an internet home based business has the same
attitude. They are dedicated and passionate about their
business online. Without dedication and passion a person
will not succeed at their venture. It does not even matter
how good the product is or how great the person is at
selling and marketing, the bottom line is if they do not
have the attitude they will not succeed.
It doesn't seem that attitude can have such an impact on
business, but it does. A person who is not dedicated to
their home based business will allow other things to push
their business to the backburner. They will have no problem
letting their home based business suffer in favor of doing
something else. As with anything in life, if a person is
not dedicated to the task they will likely not do much with
it.
Passion is something that any good salesperson will say is
the key to selling. At the core of every internet home
based business is something to be sold. Every successful
business person can sell and are passionate about their
product. The reason for this is that in order for a person
to buy something the seller has to develop an interest in
it.
A business ownwer that is passionate about his product will
talk about it as if it is the most wonderful thing in the
world. They will convince people they cannot live without
it, that they need it. People will then become interested
and likely buy it. A home based business person on the
internet that is not passionate about their product will
find they do not end up with very customers who are
passionate about it either.
Determination and passion are two of the most simple
concepts, but they are indeed the key to guaranteed success
in making money and earning residual income. These
character traits are not something a person can learn, but
rather are part of their state of mind about a business
concept or product. When a person finds a residual income
internet home based opportunity that fires up their
dedication and passion then they have found the opportunity
for guaranteed residual income success.

How To Sell Products To Your Opt-In List - A Three-Pronged Strategy!
A lot of Internet marketing start-ups find selling
affiliate products a surprisingly difficult task. At the
outset many suppose that all they have to do is to place
their affiliate links on their websites and sit back and
wait for the sales to come rolling in.
While some people with high ranking websites will certainly
be making sales directly off their pages, that is not
really the best way to go about selling affiliate products
or programmes, especially if the links are not supported by
useful, relevant, well written and original product
information.
The main aim of the front page should be to get visitors to
sign up to your newsletter via your opt-in form. That will
put you in a position to FOLLOW UP on visitors to your
website - remember, most sales are made in the follow up.
If you have been struggling to master the net and make a
profit on your online business, here is a three-pronged
marketing strategy to help increase your sales.
First Prong: Know Your Product
Choose a product that matches your niche, offers a good
commission and is also well written and presented. Yes,
that means you will have to BUY it yourself!
Thoroughly familiarize yourself with the product to the
point where you feel able to write a thorough, honest and
convincing review of it.
Second Prong: Write A Product Review In Three Parts
This is important. Don't just write a single review, post
it and forget it. Write your review in THREE parts and send
each part as a separate message to your list over the
course of 6-9 days.
The aim of the headline of the first message is to create
maximum curiosity to encourage a high opening rate. The
main copy should create rapport with the customer, induce a
sense of familiarity, emphasize the BIG BENEFIT and
neutralize scepticism.
Of course, your link through to the product site should be
included, but since most of the sales come in the FOLLOW
UP you will need to prepare your second and third reviews,
each in a different style.
The second message should be in the form of questions and
answers about the product, further neutralizing lingering
scepticism and encouraging purchase via the link you supply
in the body of the letter.
The third message should make use of bullet points to
emphasize the benefits to the reader of purchasing and
again provide a link for immediately doing so.
Third Prong: Whack Your List With A Too-Good-To-Turn-Down
Offer
As well as the MAJOR BENEFIT of the product itself, make
your readers a BIG OFFER and add a TIME LIMIT to give it an
edge of urgency...
Here's what you do. In each of your letters you emphasize
how good the product is and how much you want your readers
to benefit from it. So much so that you are going to make
them a generous offer.
Offer them either a rebate on the retail price. Make it
between 75%-100% of your commission. For example, if the
product costs $50 and you earn a 50% commission, or $25 per
purchase, offer to give them a rebate of between $15 and
$25!
What? Am I crazy?
Well, maybe. But notice, I did not say offer your list an
instant discount (for which, you'd probably need to use
Paypal). I said "offer them a rebate."
...What's the difference?
Well, a discount is given up front. A rebate is awarded
post purchase.
What you do is provide your purchasers with a link to a
rebate form that they print out and post to you with their
name, address and the product they purchased and the
purchasing code. Explain to your customers that it takes X
number of days to process payments. Ask them to send the
form to you X number of days after they purchased the
product to claim their rebate. You undertake to send them
their rebate as soon as you receive your commission cheque.
Simple!
Several things accrue from this.
Firstly, it is unlikely that every customer will follow up
on the rebate, so you won't lose all your profit, even if
you offered to rebate 100% of your commission.
Secondly, you have converted a number of people on your
list into customers. Once people have had a good experience
of purchasing through you they will be less resistant to
doing so again. You can now sell to them again and again.
Thirdly, when you send them their cheque, you can include
some direct mail materials. Of course they will open the
letter from you since they know there is a cheque inside,
and so they will be much more likely and well disposed to
read your printed sales material.
So make them a nice follow-up offer and you stand to recoup
your profit all over again!!

Discover 3 Essential Elements That Guarantee Internet Business Success
When you think about an internet business, what comes to
your mind? If you are new to the business you might be
confused or even be little excited. If you've been doing
it for a while, you might be frustrated or pumped up about
the income potential.
In this article we want to talk about four essential
elements that will guarantee your Internet business
success. These are not Internet marketing techniques, but
rather successful traits you must possess to create your
own success.
1. You must be an action oriented person. Included in this
is a person who can set goals and work towards hitting
those. An action oriented person is a doer and not a
thinker or a talker. All talk with no action will never
create Internet business success.
Because it is so easy to start an Internet business many
people do not take it seriously. Therefore they do not do
the work and that it takes to have a successful business
online. I can tell you right here and now that you are
going to have to work as hard or harder than anything
you've ever done in your life.
2. You must have a passion for what you are doing. A
passion will drive you to be successful, because you will
never view your efforts as work. Someone once said that
they had never worked a day in their life.
Running an Internet business successfully can be just like
that for you if you enjoy everything about your business.
Another tip along these lines is to do what you enjoy and
farm out the rest. There are plenty of people available to
do things on the Internet for you that you do not enjoy, so
why waste your time doing them.
3. Become a student of Internet marketing. The really
successful Internet businesses are run by people who have a
curiosity about success. They are constantly learning new
ways to improve their business by watching what is going on
in the industry.
An obvious place to do this is to look to what your
competitors are doing. The most successful websites and
blogs are run by people who have taken the time to learn
how to be successful online.
This is three essential elements that can guarantee your
Internet business success. Obviously there is no exact
blueprint for success when it comes to making money online.
If you are an action oriented person, have a passion for
your Internet business, and take the time to learn how to
run a successful business, you can be successful too.

Is Social Networking Worth All The Hype?
Social networking seems to be the new catch phrase for many
internet marketers. Yet it leaves many busy business
owners wondering if it is worth all the hype. Social
networking takes time, time that many business owners just
don't feel they have.
So is Social Networking worth the hype?
Yes...and no. It largely depends on how it is approached.
Social networking is the process of joining professional
and social networking sites for the specific purpose of
creating business and ultimately profits.
Social networking can result in:
- Powerful business partnerships - Customer relationships -
Added value and benefit to the community - Improved
credibility and expert status - Brand awareness - Increased
reach and exposure - Gained knowledge and education
Social networking is a very powerful tool and it can result
in tremendous profits however if approached with the sole
purpose of generating profits, efforts may fall short.
Here are a few guidelines to get the most from social
networking:
1. Where to join? One mistake many business owners make is
to join too many groups. To get real value from a forum,
membership site, or chat room you have to have the time to
contribute on a regular basis. Belonging to 10 social
networking sites is great if you have the time to
contribute to them every week, however it is recommended to
start small. Dip your toe in so to speak. Join one or two
groups that provide the most value at the time. As your
business grows and your schedule allows, add more groups to
your list.
2. Join groups that are specific to your industry. There
is a forum or membership on just about every topic under
the sun. Fitness, pet training, recycling, hiring,
cleaning, software, coffee drinking, etc the list goes on
and on. Additionally, there are professional forums and
social networking sites that can provide tremendous value.
LinkedIn is one of the growing professional networking
sites, and WarriorForum is a very popular forum among
internet marketers.
3. To find groups to research simply type your industry and
the word forum or membership site into your search engine
of choice and see what comes up. For example, "surfing" +
"Forum" generated 579,000 results on Google. That's a lot
of surfing forums!
4. How often to contribute? In order to make your presence
noted and to have any kind of effect on a networking site,
business professionals have to make regular contributions
to the site. Otherwise membership is nothing more than a
business card stuffed in a pocket. No one will know you're
there.
So what is a regular contribution? Weekly visits to a
membership site or networking site are a minimum
requirement. Many networkers schedule social networking
into their calendar. For example, on Wednesday nights they
schedule two hours to visit their forums and social
networking sites they belong to.
How to promote subtly:
1. When evaluating membership sites, forums and networking
sites it is important to make sure a personalized signature
is part of joining. Your signature is the one resource
that fellow members have to find you online. Most sites do
not allow blatant self promotion so that means a signature
can be key. Be sure to include a link to your website and
a quick USP that states what you do.
2. Two tools to help. Because forums and membership sites
can contain thousands of posts, it takes a lot of time to
read through posts and decide which are appropriate to
respond to and which are not.
http://www.botsurfer.com/ is
a tool that can scan forums for you based on preset
criteria and cut your social networking time in half.
3. Adding a social networking feature to your business
website. A great way to get involved in social networking
is to create your own forum right on your company's
website. Snitz forums, http://forum.snitz.com/, offers
free ASP based forum software. It's a solid product that's
been around for more than 10 years.

How To Create An Effective Landing Page
Driving traffic from PPC (pay-per-click), an email campaign
or any advertisement to your home page is a mistake.
Sending your prospects to your homepage (which is filled
with so many different options) and hoping they take action
is a recipe for disaster.
You want to drive your traffic to a landing page that
focuses on conversion. Your landing page should be
independent of your main website, and its sole purpose
should be converting traffic.
A landing page is focused on a single action that you want
visitors to take ' with the theme or topic of that page
being relevant to the keyword or topic of the PPC ad, email
campaign etc.
Warning: This list may seem a little long, but each point
is very important to the creation of an effective landing
page.
Here are some key points to consider when creating your
landing pages:
Many visitors will scan your entire site before deciding
whether to read your copy. So you must design your landing
page with scanners in mind. Do your headline and subheads
tell your story?
Go through your copy and reading only the headlines and
subheads to make sure they are compelling.
Typically Landing pages work best when designed as a single
column. However, please test this theory for yourself.
Remove any navigation elements. Your regular navigation
will just serve as a distraction. You want to keep the
prospect moving forward, and not have the eyes wandering
all over the page.
Graphics and copy unrelated to the offer can be a
distraction and interrupt the flow through your Landing
page.
Keep your critical elements "above the fold." Research
shows you have anywhere from 3 - 8 seconds to convince
users to stay on your site. What they see must convince
them they are in the right place and give them a reason to
stay.
Make sure your call to action is above the fold.
Your call to action should be repeated for each full screen
view that the user sees while scrolling through the page.
Above the fold is also the best place for your product
image. Images work best to the left of text.
The headline may be the only thing your visitors read. This
makes your headline vitally important. Your headline should
be compelling and match the message from the PPC ad, email
campaign etc that drove your visitor to your Landing page.
Subheads should be included for every major information
point. This will break up copy and make it easier to read.
Bullet points are essential for any lists.
Never ask for more information than you absolutely need
when asking people to opt-in. Make sure the information you
are requesting is relevant and tell the user why it is
relevant.
Having a visible privacy policy next to any form copy will
also help.
Your "Submit" button is the final step people have to take.
Make the text compelling. "Submit" is not compelling. Try
"Give Me My Free Report" or "Yes, I Want My Free Report."

Find Real Online Home Business Opportunities
When first searching for real home business opportunities
it can be very difficult. Not only are the amount of
different online businesses to choose from vast, but you
also have to be real wary about scams. Proper research is
smart and will help you find a real online home business
opportunity.
Before you begin, you need to know what you should be
looking for. Look real hard into the quality of the actual
website of the business you are researching. You'll want
to see how the website is laid out and displayed. A
quality website will normally have a good balance of
graphics and text to keep your eyes pleased as well as the
brain. If the text is poorly written and the website is
laid out bad, this may not be the best online home business
opportunity to take.
Now that you know what to look for, it is time you go a
little more in-depth with your search. Find out exactly
what the company of business is offering. Some companies
make you work for many sales before they will hand out your
commission money. Others will get the money out to you as
soon as you make the sale. I always thought that $50 was a
good judgment for a payout threshold.
Another thing to take into consideration is whether or not
you want to sell anything or not. Some companies you will
have to sell and your ultimate success will depend upon how
good of a sales person you are. Other online home
businesses will pay out commissions for referrals, articles
you write, leads you bring in, or click throughs. There
are several opportunities for you to make money online.
Once you have narrowed a few companies down, search for any
problems or complaints that they have had in the past. You
can do this by talking with other people in business forums
that have had experience with the company or email their
support for any further questions. If the support gets
back to you fast, that is a good sign that their company
probably handles and resolves problems very efficient and
appropriately.
The last thing you'll want to look into is what type of
tools and training the company will offer. The best
companies offer all the tools and training you'll need to
succeed and make the business work for you. Without proper
training and tools, there is a very good chance that you
will not be able to make the type of money that you would
otherwise.
If you are serious about finding a real online home
business opportunity, make sure you do your research. It
is important to read all the fine lines and don't be afraid
to ask questions. Proper research will lead you to making
the right decision now rather than wasting your time with
an online business that will never make you a penny.

Understanding of the cash gifting activity.
This is the second in the series About Cash Gifting
It is widely known that the concept of a cash system is not
readily understood.
Cash gifting is becoming an enormously popular way on
Google to generate additional revenue streams for people
either working a job or those with a home based business.
There is generally a internet program that has been
developed that keeps track of everything for you and
usually has a fee assigned for this service. The gifter is
not representing any company or selling any products. The
primary "product", if you will, is something everyone needs
and every one wants; cash! No pills, lotions, juices,
self-help or real estate products compare to the power of
cash.
Cash Gifting is a legal activity in the United States and
Canada. People are permitted to give gifts to other
individuals, including parents, friends, relatives or
anyone else they feel may benefit from their gift. Consider
the purchase of a first home, a down payment may be
provided by another party, tax free, as long as it is
qualified as a gift. Be sure to check with the IRS just for
your peace of mind. Cash Gifting as been considered by
many a pyramid or ponzie scheme, which are illegal
activities. These scams have people at the top who collect
all of the money or generate money on false pretenses. With
cash gifting everyone starts at the same position and has
the potential to receive as much as the next person. If one
person stops the whole thing does not crumble. As a
gifter, you are your own entity. Your success does not rely
on anyone else. However, your are supported by the "team"
and other groups of people sharing a common goal and
mission. Here is a brief overview of the Cash Gifting
Activity:
You are invited by a sponsor to participate in a phone call
or visit a website. Once you understand the power and
legitimate value of the cash gifting program, you will call
your inviter/sponsor to join and then send your gift to
your sponsor. Gifts typically are in the $500, $1000,
$2,000 & $3,500 range. The first gift you receive is your
qualifier or "Q". This is passed up to your sponsor. From
that point you are able to receive the amount YOU gifted to
your sponsor to infinity. Warning, if a person you sponsor
or your "Q", gifts at a level greater than you gifted, that
difference is passed up to the next person who is qualified
to receive that additional gift.. It is important, that
if you come in at a lower level than the maximum amount ,
you upgrade as soon as possible to take full advantage of
the activity.
By sponsoring just one person this has the potential to
generate thousands to your door over and over. Consider the
possibilities if you could sponsor just 10 people and then
train them to do the same thing?
Cash gifting is an amazing opportunity for everyone who
needs to generate additional income and has a desire to
help others achieve the same. It is all about people
helping people to achieve dreams.

The Top 5 Ways To Build A Quality Prospect List
Every time you turn around these days, people are telling
you that you need to have "a big list". Is this true?
"Yes. . .and no."
Truth is, you must have a list of qualified prospects who
relate to you AND who want to purchase the products and
services you offer.
Let's break that down.
*"qualified prospects" = Individuals in your target market
who look forward to hearing from you and for whom you
provide valuable information. If you are sending
bookkeeping tips to gardeners, for example, they are likely
to unsubscribe as the information is not valuable *to them*.
*"who relate to you" = You want to build a relationship
through your writing so your readers come to know, like and
trust you. They need to understand that you will not be
"here today and gone tomorrow" and that you have THEIR best
interests at heart.
*"who want to purchase" = It doesn't matter if you believe
your prospects NEED your information. What matters is that
THEY feel they need/want it. You could sell healthy eating
books to obese men, but if they don't want to eat healthy,
they will not purchase your book.
A solid list is the foundation of any online or offline
business -- regardless of your industry.
For example, if you have a list of 10,000 readers and you
announce a $20 product and 5% purchase it, you just made
$10,000 in revenue.
If you announce the same $20 product to a list of 3,000
dedicated readers and 25% purchase, you just made $15,000
in revenue.
Now that we agree QUALITY OVER QUANTITY is best, here are
some ways to build your quality list:
1. Article Marketing.
Can't emphasize this enough. If you're writing articles
(and if you're not, time to start!), you need to be posting
them on article directory sites such as EzineArticles.com
and BestManagementArticles.com.
2. Article Publishing.
Article publishing is another way to market your articles
-- only instead of posting them to directories, you contact
ezine publishers and associations and ask them if they
would like to publish your article in one of their upcoming
newsletter issues.
You want to be sure to contact publishers in complementary,
not competing, industries or niches.
3. Public Speaking.
Standing in front of a group, whether it be a networking
event or workshop, is one of THE best ways to build your
list. Through your one presentation, you've built a rapport
with your audience -- they've seen you, they've heard you
and they've connected with you.
If you're not comfortable with public speaking, start with
a small, local networking event such as your Chamber of
Commerce or BNI meeting or join a group such as
ToastMasters.
4. Joint Ventures.
Do you know someone with a quality list who speaks to the
same audience as you? Is there any way you can partner with
them on a project and have them promote you/your newsletter
to their list?
5. Co-registration.
Think of "co-registration" as a strategic partnership. You
promote my newsletter on your ezine sign-up or thank you
page and I promote yours. When someone signs up for my
newsletter, they are taken to a "thank you" page which
could include your newsletter name and a link to sign-up.
This helps each of us build our list through partnership --
just like with article publishing however, you want to
insure that you contact people in complementary, not
competing industries.
There are hundreds of ways you can build your list. I've
given you five of the most effective ways to build a
QUALIFIED list. Are you ready?
Coaching Challenge:
Pull out your marketing plan and look at your list building
activities -- if at least 3 of the above 5 aren't on it,
ask yourself "why" and then see which you are comfortable
adding.

I Had No Idea My Home Business Was Illegal
I was reading an article in one of my home business
magazines the other day and they were talking about how
many people are starting full and part-time home based
businesses. They said that over 72% Americans are engaged
in some sort of home business opportunity.
That number seemed awfully high to me at first, but then I
got to thinking about all the different type of business
opportunities are available to people. Working at home does
not just mean owning an internet based business. It can be
a bookkeeper, day care provider, home inspector; home
decorator, the list is endless when you start to really
think about it.
However, when you setup your home business there are a few
things many people never even think about but should
consider before embarking on this new business journey.
Below are just a few items you should consider before
starting your home based business opportunity.
1. This is a business. Separate your personal finances from
the business. You should create a legal entity for your
business. This action is two fold. It shows the IRS this is
a real business not a hobby, and in the event of any legal
action it's less likely to impact your personal assets.
You will want to file incorporation documents and open a
business bank account. If all this is foreign to you
contact a local CPA or Attorney to assist you with this
process. It will cost you a bit to get this completed but
can save you a great deal in the long run.
2. Check with your city or state authorities for any
business or operating licenses you may need for your
business. This is most prevalent in the areas of day care,
lawn services, and accounting, but not limited to just
these.
There are many reasons for these requirements, safety,
sales tax, employment taxes are just of few. If these
licenses are not completed and you are found in violation,
you could be subject to fines or worse, you may be required
to shut down. So make sure you check with your local
government before opening your doors for business.
3. One little known consideration is your home owners
association. If you live in a community that is governed by
a home owners association even operating a business from
you home could be in violation of the conveyance. For
example, you may be restricted on signage which may be
important to your operations. Or there may be restriction
on vehicles such as large truck to carry lawn service
equipment.
Be sure you read and understand the conveyance of your
community or check with your home owner's association
management company before starting your home business. This
will save you costs in fines and stress in arguments.
Make sure you do your research not only on the potential
business opportunity but on all your city, state and
neighborhood laws. Not knowing the law is not an excuse.
