between sales and marketing. So you can be the person who
assists others in selling and marketing a product or
service for their home based business.

And this one I really like Tester - You test internet
marketing opportunities. It's your job to evaluate each
opportunity for profitability. This works really well for
those seasoned MLMers who have been around the block and
tried most of them anyway.

It really doesn't matter what your answer is as long as
you're comfortable with what comes next. If you like 20

rapport. Sometimes that takes time and won't happen on the
first meeting. The more you know about the person and find
in common with each other the more likely you will build
that relationship and trust. So keep asking questions until
you understand their emotions and how your product can
serve them.

Making the Sale

A natural flow of conversation will turn to you. They will
ask you what you do for a living. This is the time you can
open with enough information to peak their interest. You
never want to sell them; people hate being sold. Don't show
and tell your product; speak to the benefits as it applies
to them. Understand if your prospect wants an opportunity
or are they better suited as a product user. Most of all
keep the focus on the prospect not the product or
opportunity.

Finally, if you have mastered these two important concepts
you will be successful in any Network Marketing
opportunity. And in the end your prospects and your team
will understand that Network Marketing goes way beyond the

newsletter. You've formatted your newsletter, written an
article or tip or two and sent it to your parents, siblings

The question I'm asked most from new ezine/newsletter
publishers is how to get more subscribers on their list.

Here are 7 simple ways for you to grow your ezine list - -
with integrity and authenticity!

1. Make it easy.

It's amazing to me how many people have only one sign-up
spot on their website or don't include an invitation to
sign up for their newsletter in their email signature.

You need to make it glaringly obvious to EVERYONE that you
would like to share your newsletter with them: put a
sign-up box on *every* page of your website, include an
invitation in your Resource Box and on your email
signature. Include a note on the back of your business card
and any brochures or flyers you send out.

2. Coregistration.

Speak with ezine publishers who offer products or services
which are complementary to yours.

When someone signs up for your newsletter, you refer your
colleague's newsletter and vice versa. Coregistration has
the benefit of adding subscribers to both your and your
colleague's newsletter with no real effort.

3. Squeeze Page.

A squeeze page consists of either a simple one page website
where the sole goal is to collect email addresses for your
ezine OR it's a "front page" over your actual website where
visitors can either choose to enter their information,
click away or, in most cases, click to "enter site".

4. Ezine Directories.

You can submit your ezine to online directories such at
Charlie Page's Directory of Ezines
(www.directoryofezines.com). The Directory allows people to
search ezines by topic and decide if they wish to
subscribe. It also allows other ezine publishers to contact

5. Advertising.

Take a good look at other websites/newsletters which cater
to your target market and advertise either on their sites
or in their ezines.

By focusing only on those sites/ezines which cater to your
niche, you will have a higher chance of getting interested
prospects as subscribers.

6. Direct Mail.

Send a postcard to members of your target audience where
you do nothing aside from inform them about your ezine and
invite them to sign up.

If you are a virtual assistant who works with real estate
agents, you could send a postcard to all the local (and
not-so-local) real estate agents and invite them to become

7. Speaking.

One of the fastest ways to get sign-ups for your newsletter
is to speak at public events and offer a susbscription to

"What Do I Blog About?"
We get this question all the time from small business
owners and lifestyle entrepreneurs diving into the blogging
world, and the answer is, "Anything related to your
business, products, services, industry, which would also be
informative and entertaining (and not sales-y) for your
Ideal Audience."

And that answer, while accurate, just isn't helpful.

Because (as we're finally realizing) when our clients and
prospects ask what to blog about, the question is also a
stand-in for a host of other concerns:

* What's the point?...

* How will this get me more business?...

* I'm not a writer...

* There's fear involved in "putting myself out there" in
this way...

* I don't know where to start...

* I'm overwhelmed by the idea, the technology, the
fitting-it-in around the rest of everything else I have to
do as Chief Cook and Bottle Washer in my business...

You get the idea.

Assuming for now that you will be jumping in to the
blogging world, here's the easiest formula I can come up
with for a successful blog post, which I laid out for one
of our clients in a Progress Report last year:

"To sum up, blogging can be as simple as:

"1. Reading an industry news story

"2. Formulating your opinion on it

"3. Typing up your opinion and supporting it with your
unique set of knowledge

"Could each of [your executive team members] do that in
15-30 minutes or so, once (or twice) a month? If so, your
blog will be a roaring success."

As another example, a storage and organization systems
company out of Wolfeboro, NH, is going through blogging
training with another company as I write this.

I met with the co-owner separately, and we got to talking
about how new closet systems affect the resale value of
homes. I checked out Remodeling magazine's 2007 Cost vs.
Value annual report, and was surprised to see that they
didn't include anything storage or organization-related.

That lack of inclusion is blog-worthy. In fact, if it had
been included, it would also be blog-worthy, but for the
