engine ranking. The very experienced writer stated that
your domain name does not help with ranking. To a point she
is correct, however there are other things to consider when
using a broad statement like this.

Lets look at one of the ways you can build links to your
site, being article marketing. Effective article marketing
can bring many links, and traffic if done the right way.
The articles are from 400 to 600 words and each have there
own resource box and link back the writers site.

The articles are then submitted to many article directory
sites that accept articles from thousands of authors. The
best known site being ezinearticles.com. The articles are
then made available to others provided they are kept in
tact and with the link back to your site. Effectively this
is like newspaper syndication and allows your article to be
used in many different places, allow your site to get
credit. Now this means that your article, while submitted
to a few sites, can start appearing on many others.

Also add in RSS which allows blogs to display your
articles, pulling them directly from the article sites,
then you can see how articles can spread quickly.

Now many of these sites accept articles only in text format
and this is when the domain name becomes important.

In a recent project I got a site from zero to in the top 50
out of 66 million, just using this method. The site name
had the main keywords right in the domain name.

Now some say there are no good domains left to do this. All
you need to do is think outside the box a little, by adding
words to your prime keyword. For example the site I had
been working on was CompleteHomeOrganizing.com prime
keyword is home organizing and the site is set up as a blog.

The site is only 90 days old and has just begun to gather
email addresses and first names. I always recommend you get
the traffic to take action when they get to your site
others wise what use is the traffic.

So always keep in mind that your domain does have some
effect in ranking as people will also link to you in the
simplest quickest way, which is by copying and pasting your
URL.

Article Writing is a very effective and low cost way of
getting a site at zero up and running quickly. Some people
think they cant write however that is a matter of guidence.

The most common niche blogging roadblock is also
unfortunately, the very first thing that has to be decided
upon when developing a blog. Every blog requires a topic,
theme or niche and until you find or choose yours', you'll
have nothing to write about and nothing to offer your blog
visitors.

How Do I Choose a Niche?

Some Internet marketers subscribe to the "passion theory";
choosing a niche based on passions(s). While others believe
it's better to find a need in the marketplace and develop a
niche to fill it.

I can tell you from personal experience, I've done niche
blogging both ways. In my particular case, they both proved
productive and profitable, yet still, I know in which
direction I will go from here on in.

Let's see if this makes sense for you by first asking
yourself these 3 questions:

1. If I commercialize my passion(s), will I continue to
enjoy them in the same way I do today?

2. Will I still enjoy my passion(s) if I'm "working" with
them 8 or more hours a day?

3. And if my passion becomes my work, what will I do on my
"off-time"?

PASSION THEORY

You see, from personal experience, when I chose to create a
niche around my passion, everything about my passion became
work related. My passion became a business and I had to
think too much about "other people" and what they wanted to
know and learn and buy relative to my passion.

Ultimately, my passion became my job and during my free
time the last thing I wanted to do was anything relative to
my passion.

MARKET DEMAND

When I chose a niche based on market demand, and kept my
passions out of the equation, I had a life. I focused on my
niche during working hours, then I had my passions to enjoy
and relax with during off-hours.

Generally, our passions are our hobbies. Our hobbies are
things we do to relax and immerse ourselves in something we
thoroughly enjoy. It's our downtime, away from work and the
chaos of our lives; our sanctuary.

When you start to monetize and market your passions, they
tend to lose their tranquil effect and before long there is
no distinction between what we do for work and what we do
for fun. You know the old saying...."all work and no
play....".

When you choose a niche based on business reasons, and you
go to your computer to start your business day, it's all
business. It's the part of your day where you are focused
on providing products or services in exchange for financial
compensation, and that's that. Of course you do so with
integrity and compassion for your customers, but at the end
of the day, you can leave the work and "go home" to your
life and your passions.

It sounds very black and white. And for most folks it will
be. But there's also a gray area to consider.

PROFESSIONAL PASSION

A passion for providing something of value to others that
can only be offered in the business world. A passion that
provides a service to others that you have the skills,
experience and knowledge to provide, and you enjoy doing
so. A professional "calling", if you will.

Such an example would be my professional passion for
training. Teaching people and sharing knowledge with others
about topics I know and love. Creating training manuals and
implementing training programs and executing training
courses is something I have loved doing since I was a young
child when I use to "teach" my younger brother everything
under the sun, much to his dismay!

So for me, choosing a niche based on my passion for
training, and considering my personal areas of knowledge
and experience, eliminated the niche blogging roadblock
that you may very well be facing right now.

Beginners to multi-level marketing (MLM) always have a cash
crunch at first. Money is tight, budgets are short and
patience is a virtue. The mistake that most people make is
expecting to see a massive profit immediately. To tell you
the truth, that will probably not happen.

You will need a way of raising some cash while you build
your list. The question you should be asking right now is
"How do I do that?" This is where a funded proposal makes
it's center stage appearance.

A funded MLM proposal is a simple concept. Offer a low cost
product or service on the front of the offer. Then you
build some trust and rapport with the visitor/client.
Finally, you offer your "main" product or service on the
back end. Many MLMers do this with great success and you
can, too.

The funded proposal helps in two areas. First, it acts as a
list builder. As people take advantage of the initial offer
you make, they are added to your mailing list. This is what
is known as lead generation. Second, they put a little cash
in your pocket to offset advertising costs. This is what
makes it a "funded" proposal.

Now we need to go over how you can get people to see your
offer. There are several free ways to do this.

Safe lists. This is probably the lowest cost option you
will have. A great portion of them are free to join but
there are paid ones as well. The members of a safe list
agree to receive ads from other people on the list. In
exchange, they get to send their own ads. Free members send
only to other free members while paid members send ads to
other paid members in addition to the free members. It
should be easy to see why a paid safe list would be more
responsive. The paying members are serious about their
business and they are more likely to actually read your ad.

So how can you use this method? Send your ad as often as
the list allows. Create several different versions of the
ad and keep track of what works and what doesn't. In this
way, you will have a good feel for which campaigns to use
in other advertising mediums. Along the way, you pick up
some great leads and possibly some cash to boot.

Traffic exchanges These are another low cost option.
Basically, you post your splash or landing page in a
rotating system. You agree to view other people's ads and
you are given credits. The credits are used to display your
page to the membership. Usually, for every two or three ads
that you view, your ad is shown once. The good thing about
this is that actual peoples see the ad, thus you have more
chance of a conversion.

Again, this can be used for your funded proposal. Like
above, create several different ads and watch what works.
Since you have real people seeing the ad in real time, you
can get a good idea what prompts a visitor to click your
offer. Thus you have a gauge to use when you take your
campaign to the next level. Once more, you generate some
leads and make some money along the way.

Not that long ago I had a friend, who has struggled with
her belief in the industry, to share with me that network
marketing is hard work.

Well from time to time, I have heard from prospects &
people outside Network Marketing industry & it's critics
that the industry is a lot of --h-a-r-d w-o-r-k-- and
that it takes too long to see cash flow.

Well, the "hard work" part is accurate, for sure, and we
should never deceive people about that -- and that is 'why'
the ultimate rewards can be so very high.

So in a nutshell here is what I answered - Is network
marketing difficult? Yes, and so is anything 'else' in life
that's worthwhile.

But let's be honest - "how" difficult is it? - and,
difficult in comparison to What? What other options are
'out there' for personal business ownership that are as
easy to get set up in?

H-e-r-e is what's "difficult" - -

It is difficult .... when you tell your family that there
is not enough money this Christmas to buy them what they
want.

It is difficult - knowing the rust bucket we call a car is
eating us alive in maintenance, but we cannot afford a new
one...

It is difficult - to go to our annual performance review
(job), and even though we have worked "hard" for another
year, we come away "empty handed"...

It is difficult - knowing that we shop by "sticker", rather
than whether the garment "looks good" on us...

It is difficult - knowing that we married a wonderful
person (our spouse), and promised them the world, and yet
for the next 20 years, we look at "balancing the budget"
and figuring out what "sacrifices" must be made...

It is difficult - always lowering our "dreams" to meet our
"means"...

It is difficult - knowing that we have spent 30-40 years of
our life working for someone else -- only to realize that
we will be retiring on 1/3 of what we cannot live on
"today"...

It is difficult - knowing that the fish are biting this
week -- and we cannot drop what we're doing and take our
Dad fishing...

So ' What are we going to do about it? We have nasty
habits about rationalizing, procrastinating and skirting
important things, rather than 'facing' the issues. Too
often we allow "others" --who do not pay our bills -- who
do not share our dreams -- to direct "our" future!

Is network marketing "Really" so difficult after all? - Is
it so 'traumatic' for us to tell people about our
breakthrough products? Is it so 'difficult' for us to
understand that if we "tell enough people" - and "work"
this business "hard" - for a few years - that they might
not have to ever confront some of the nasty alternatives --
and that instead, we could create "choices" for ourselves?

By this time I was really on a roll and I ended the
conversation this way ........

Would you be willing to "work really hard" for next 3-4
years, so that you could be well on your way to putting
our family in a more comfortable home? Would you be
willing to "work really hard" for a year or two - so that
you could send your children to college, chosen by
"excellence" rather than one chosen by "price" (the same
criteria we used for clothes shopping)??
