Internet Marketing Tips - Advertising Resources For Newbies To Avoid

Internet Marketing Tips - Advertising Resources For Newbies To Avoid
If you want to make money online, you will need to get the
hang of the various promotional methods available on the
Internet. There are free advertising resources as well as
paid for advertising. Some work, some are a pure waste of
time and some only work if you know the right way to go
about it. Let's have a look at a three Internet based
advertising methods.

Traffic Exchanges

Traffic exchanges are often used by Internet newbies
because firstly they are free and secondly they are easy to
use. The problem is that traffic exchange advertising does
not work for every type of offer and you need to know what
works and what doesn't if you are going to use traffic
exchanges successfully. For the average newbie,
advertising on traffic exchanges represents a lot of wasted
time.

The problem for newbies is that your advertisement will be
seen by other webmasters who are interested in promoting
their products and not in looking at yours. You, however,
as a newbie, will be bombarded with ads inviting you to
sign up for all sorts of money making programs, useful
tools and so on. You can easily find that using free
traffic exchange advertising ends up costing you money
because you have been tempted into signing up for some
useful items. Save traffic exchanges until you know how to
use them properly.

Safe Lists

Membership of a safe list program, entitles you to email
your ad to everyone else on the list. In return you agree
to accept ads from all the other people on the list. You
will be inundated with emails, and this could mean hundreds
of emails every day depending on the size of the list. The
people on the list are there to promote their own goods and
services and most will probably not even open your email,
let alone read your ad and click through to your website.

Most safe list members use a free throw-away email account
and have all the mail directed straight to trash. The
chances of your email being seen by a potential customer
are extremely slim; it is up to you to decide if that slim
chance is worth the time you will need to spend on sending
emails to the list.

Purchased Leads

Most Internet marketers will tell you that you should never
purchase leads. Leads, for the sake of complete Internet
marketing newbies, are details of people who are
purportedly interested in your product and would welcome an
approach from you. The problem with leads is that they are
either cheap and completely useless or expensive and mostly
useless. The cheapest leads will have been obtained by
dubious methods (ie stolen), they will be years out of date
and will have been sold many times over.

If you buy these you will be paying for out of date
information and details of people who have received so many
unwanted approaches from other Internet marketers that they
would be more likely to come after you swinging a baseball
bat than sign up for anything you recommend.

If you buy expensive leads, they will normally be fresh but
they will still be sold to several different people and if
you are unlucky enough to be the tenth person calling them
with an offer, you won't get a warm welcome. These leads
might also have been obtained by the offer of an incentive,
and you will find that they are not interested in your
offer and only signed up to get a freebie .

In summary, I would not recommend any of these three
promotional methods to newbies. Bulk emailing to safe
lists is a waste of time, paying for leads is a waste of
cash and traffic exchange advertising is only effective if
you know what you are doing.

5 Top Internet Advertising Tips

5 Top Internet Advertising Tips
The number of people who have their own website or blog is
at an all-time high. The number of people making money on
the Internet is at an all-time high as well. However, the
difference between a person starting an Internet business
and the person actually succeeding is as high as it ever
has been.

In this article we want to talk about Internet advertising
tips, and the importance of getting traffic to your website
so you do not become another Internet marketing casualty.

1. Join a forum and point your signature file to your
website or blog. Take a look at other signature files to
determine what catches your eye. A signature file in a
forum is similar to placing a classified ad. If you don't
get read your dead.

Forum marketing becomes more effective, the longer you do
it, because you begin to establish credibility and people
know who you are.

2. Post comments on blogs. When you are controversial you
capture attention. This can lead to traffic as well when
people visit your site to learn more about you. Another
benefit of posting comments on blogs is you create back
links to your site where search engines can find you and
rank you higher for specific keywords.

3. Post comments in social directories. When you see an
article that captures your attention comment on it. Social
directories such as Digg, Stumble Upon, Propeller, and
others are great places for you to create back links to
your website or blog when you post comments on articles you
have read.

4. Write Articles and submit them to the top article
directories. In your article write a quality resource box
that would give a person a reason to want to click on the
link that leads to your website. Automate the process by
using article directory submission services to get even
more articles out to more directories.

5. Don't forget about pay per click advertising. There are
still great opportunities to bid on underserved keywords
and get traffic to your website without spending an arm and
a leg to do it. Pay per click programs such as Google
Adwords, Yahoo Marketing, Miva, and more, offer a terrific
way to quickly get targeted traffic to your website.

This is five proven Internet advertising tips. Every
business needs website traffic, and in many cases, the more
the merrier. Your ability to use these five Internet
advertising methods, and many others, can make the
difference in whether you are successful or fail with your
Internet business.

Common Errors That Kill A Residual Income Home Business

Common Errors That Kill A Residual Income Home Business
Although because of the internet it seems rather easy to
set up or configure a residual income home business, there
are a few things that you must consider first. Before you
get started with any product or program consider these 2
things that can kill your business.

1. Wrong Product

To create a residual income with any product it has to be a
product that people continue to buy over and over. A
residual income is built on the idea that one day you can
walk away and not have to work anymore. If you choose a
home business that represents a product that is overpriced,
or can be purchased anywhere for less than you are selling
on the Internet, you will have problems creating an ongoing
income.

For example, health products fall into this category. Many
network marketing companies are built around providing
nutritional supplements as their primary product. For sure
there are excellent nutritional supplements and you can buy
companies from like that.

The problem is that you can also buy similar products at
places like Wal-Mart and Walgreens. Because people join a
program and get excited about the income opportunities they
never really get attached to the products.

This makes it easy for them to quit when they are not
making money and therefore their residual income is not
stable. You are better off to choose a product that is
unique, will attract a lifelong customer, and cannot be
purchased down the street at any retailer.

For this reason, information-based products, membership
style products, and so on, make excellent products.
Examples of this are website hosting, personal development
training, niche marketing, private label right products,
and so on.

2. Attrition

It is only natural that a certain percentage of people who
join a program are going to quit. Not all people are
motivated enough to stick with something long enough to be
successful. Certainly most of them do not have the skills
it takes to build a home business of their own when they
first start.

Unfortunately, the attrition rate in affiliate marketing in
network marketing has been so high that to achieve a
residual income from your home business takes an effort
that very few people can achieve. For this reason
developing a duplicatable system becomes even more
important when you are using the Internet.

You can never really ease up, or feel like you can retire
in the early years of your home business. Eventually you
are looking for a frontline of distributors or affiliate
marketers that you can earn an ongoing income from their
efforts. This is going to take a lot of time and effort,
but in the long run can be worthwhile if you yourself are
willing to stick with it.

In the end what you decide to do is a personal choice. Use
these valuable tips for making the best choice on starting
your own residual income home business.

Ever heard of an Affiliate program scam?

Ever heard of an Affiliate program scam?
Everyday, A lot of people are learning that the best way to
make money at home online is to start with some of the best
affiliate programs on the web. They go in with big hopes of
making it big online just like many who have done it and
are still doing it.

What's easier then joining a free affiliate program,
throwing some links on your site, promote the site, and
start to make money online at home. Again, many are making
tremendous amounts of money for doing just that.

Every successful internet marketer knows that many work at
home programs that people pay money for are flat out scams.
They are no good. But what many new and older marketers
don't know is that some of the many internet affiliate
programs that are out there don't pay their affiliates for
their owns sales.

Are you shocked? You probably never heard of this before.
Is this something new to you? This has happened to many,
including myself.

This is very true. You go and sign up to a brand new and
free to join affiliate program. It looks and feels good to
you. You feel excited because it tells you that the
conversion rate is 1 sale in every 20 unique visitors. So
you say to yourself "What the heck, this program looks
good. I am going to give it a lot of exposure on my site".
So you do just that.

Sales start to come in on a daily basis. Now, many
affiliate programs pay their affiliates twice a month. When
the pay period comes, you expect to get your money either
through online payment or through a check. Everything seems
to be OK. But one day you start to think about why you have
not gotten your affiliate commission payment from that
particular affiliate program.

So you email the affiliate manager and ask them why they
are not paying you your commissions. Days go by, and the
affiliate manager doesn't reply back to you so you email
again. And again, no response. If you are waiting for a
check or an online affiliate payment then you go into your
account and see if you got all of your info right . Every
thing seems to be OK.

Now, if you are reading this article, you are probably
thinking that this has happened to only 1 or 2 affiliates
for that particular web affiliate program. But what if I
told you that many people who promoted this particular
program also had the same problem.

This is what I like to call "An online affiliate program
scam". You can promote the program and make sales, but
chances are that you will not get paid. This is linked to
your regular web work at home scams. Schemers sell people a
work at home program, they take their money, give them
nothing in return, and run away.

Believe it or not, there are a small number of these free
affiliate programs out there.

The best way to find out if an affiliate program is good or
not is by going to the many good online forums out there
and see if the program that you are looking into right now
is any good.

Not every bad affiliate program will come offline and be
stopped. They will keep going even though they have not
paid 1 single affiliate. Find a good forum where top
affiliates go and see what they are talking about and what
internet affiliate programs they are promoting and are
getting paid on. You will find good affiliate programs to
promote who will actually pay you for your sales.

Email List Building Tips

Email List Building Tips
Go and ask a full time internet marketing expert what is
their #1 secret to online success. The one thing that you
won't hear from them ever saying is to have a state of the
art website. Yes, it is important to have a nice looking
website but this is NOT the most important aspect of being
very successful online. Their most important tool is their
opt in email list. What you won't find in this article is
how to build a nice looking site.

If you come to me as a new internet marketer and tell me
that you don't want to have anything to do with an email
list, you are just going in the wrong direction.

Here is an example. It is not the best example but you will
get the point:

If you had to arrive at Miami from LA, wouldn't it be
better to take a plane rather then actually walking or
taking the bus to get to your destination. You would get
there but it will take you so much longer. That is why you
need to get your own opt in email list as soon as you can
and start sending them your offers. This is the fastest way
to succeed online.

In this article, I would like to help you out and give you
7 valuable tips when building your own opt in list.

Let's start.....

1. Your first priority is to build a quality opt in email
subscribers. That means that you will want to have all of
your website visitors subscribe to your personal opt in
list. You will want to focus on people coming in to YOUR
site and giving them their personal permission to send them
your newsletter. The more subscribers you get on a daily
basis, the better.

2. There are places online with companies who will try to
sell you subscribers for a fee. You will come across them
through a website that someone else recommends or even
through email that the company sends you to get your
attention and your money. This is not the way to go because
this kind of email marketing is called SPAM email. This
will not do you any good in the short and long term.

3. Buy a domain name that describes what you do. If it is a
"Home Business" website, try to get a domain that has
"Business' in it. The next thing that you will want to do
is to add at least 3-4 different places on your site that
allow the visitor to subscribe to your newsletter. Try to
also put an email subscription form right at the very top
of the page so that your visitors can see it as soon as
they come into your website.

4. You also need to add, in every email that you send out,
a place to unsubscribe. Not everyone on your list will like
what you send them. Some will reply back to your emails and
ask you to remove them from your opt in list. You should do
that immediately.

5. You will eventually build sub sites to your original
website. You will also want to add an email subscription
form to them. Every page that you create, make sure to
have, again, at least 3-4 email subscription forms.

6. Work at developing a relationship with those subscribers
once you have an opt-in mailing list. Your main goal is to
become a trusted person that offers them valuable
information in each and every email. As you develop that
trust you will be able to sell to your list more easily.
Anytime any of your subscribers email you with questions,
do respond back to them. You don't want to ignore them even
though they didn't buy anything from your yet. Treat each
subscriber as you would want others to treat you. 7. Don't
send them schemes and scams through email. This will hurt
your credibility with them and online. Your goal is to be
able to go back to your list and sell over and over for
years to come.
