product and explained its features, its benefits and so on.
Since he's not talking about his own product, you listened

Oh yeah, what the company is offering sounds like it would
make a great bargain! Wait... you mean it's not good
enough? I'm already intrigued, you actually mean you have
something better? No way!

Then he pulled his offer out and present it to you. You're
SOLD before you're sold.

Well that's the power of comparison selling. Michael
Masterson, in his book "Ready, Fire, Aim" once talked about
his experience working with a boss who sold aluminum
sidings.

If you've ever seen Barry Levinson's film "Tin Men," you
know that the siding business is no walk in the park. For
one thing, the product you're selling isn't something you
can port around in sample case. It requires imagination.
Not just on the part of the prospect, but on the part of
the salesman who has to paint the picture of a newly
finished home.

What's more, the price was high. It could cost as much as
$2,600 to cover a house in aluminum siding. Remember, this
was at a time when the median annual salary hovered around
$5,000.

Here's how it would work...

Michael's boss would run through his pitch for covering and
protecting a house with siding and then he would throw a
question to the prospect.

"How much," he would say, "do you think it would cost to
cover your house in oak?"

Oak? Did he say oak?

cost to cover the whole house? I can tell you. It would

That is how comparison selling can work for you, too.

Now if that isn't enough, sometimes you can also add
bonuses or premiums to your offer to further amplify the
value you deliver to customers. And, done right—by
explaining how valuable the bonuses are on their own, your
prospects would hold their cash right in front of you like
a hungry wolf waiting to be fed. Of course, this' a
metaphor. Have you tried applying comparison selling to
your sales message before? If you haven't, you can start
with some of your competitor's offer competing with yours.
Explain why yours is better, and how it can trump your
competitor's in value.

And yeah, sometimes it doesn't have to be something you
uniquely have. It could be some of the most obvious facts
in the industry. If you haven't heard of Claude Hopkins'
stories about how he sold Schlitz beer, it would worth at
least a close read.

You could make it your unique selling proposition, you
could use it to turn your prospects' objections into
benefits you can sell, and you can do so many things with
this strategy to sell much, much more products in return
for a wealth of fortunes.

Use it, but remember—don't go overboard on
exaggeration in the comparison. Ultimately, it's enough
proof and trust that help prospects hand you their credit
cards and hard-earned money.

system, you are the person who has to answer them, so you
would occasionally have to interact with a real person,
despite Coughlin's claim that things are going to be "on

When I first decided to start making money online I sat in
front of my computer dumb founded wondering "what" I could
do to start getting some of that internet gold. I just
didn't have a clue.

It wasn't until listening in on a live tele-seminar one
night that gave me a definite plan, a red-hot proven
pattern for success. You see, a professional marketer and
one of his associates were spilling their guts all about
creating your own moneymaking niche products. That changed
everything for me and I got busy!

I knew the guy because I had previously bought a product
from him that taught all about setting up Paypal, uploading
files, choosing a web host, etc. He was my newfound friend!

You see, previously I got my start in mail order. For a
while I was stumped on what I could sell by mail. I pretty
much started from scratch. I didn't even own a word
processor yet.

Then I discovered reprint rights material. I started buying
all kinds of reprintable reports and manuals. I had to
re-build a lot of the old worn out products that I bought
doing paste-ups late at night at Kinko's.

As time went on I made good money by creating my own
reprint rights collections after I got a new computer and a
laser printer. In time I even bought my own copy machine
and saved a lot of time and money in making copies and by
filling orders at home.

I even created my own products. And they sold well. The
only trouble was I didn't have the capital to grow and
expand advertising wise. That all changed the minute I
found out how to make money online.

By doing business online I didn't have to worry about
expensive magazine advertising. There was no waiting months
for an ad to come out, no expensive printing to buy, no
expensive postage, etc. No more spinning my wheels profit
wise!

Making money online was so much easier. I could run a
classified type ad through Google Adwords and instantly be
up and running in 15 minutes. People could instantly see my
products on my web site. I could deliver products instantly
too. It was like mail order without all the mail!

Again, when I decided to start an internet marketing
business, I was stumped on what I could do to make money
online. But that night I listened in on this 1 ½-hour
tele-seminar.

They were telling how they created their own niche e-book
products and used Google Adwords to get instant traffic.
How they launched a product fast even if it wasn't as good
as it could be yet. How they made at least 1 - 2 sales per
day online per product. Sales of something like $25 - $50 a
day for each new e-book they wrote and how all that cash
piles up fast. That sounded good to me!

These guys are still making lots of money online today and
helping others as well. When I started creating e-books and
selling them online I started seeing sales automatically
for $29 at first and then more and more. These guys spoke
truth!

As a matter of fact, I am 3/4 of the way retired now. I
only have to work outside my home a few days per month
sometimes to help pay my house payment. The rest of the
time I am either perfecting a moneymaking product that is
already up and running or I am creating something new to
sell online.

That is how easy it is to create your own digital
info-products. And I am not that sharp or I would be a
millionaire by now since I have been at it online since
2004. But I am happy with my results so far and so is my
wife! So if I can do it, you can probably do it better!

You cannot depend on a job. If you don't do something to
make more money now, chances are you will have to keep
working after you're 65 to make ends meet. Supposedly, US
government statistics prove that 95% of Americans, at the
age of 65 are either dead, disabled or broke.

Trading products for dollars instead of hours for dollars
is the easiest money you will ever earn and the easiest way
to get rich. You too can make money online if you will just
work half as hard for yourself as you do for your boss. Do
it in spurts. Do it just for a month and see what happens.

Beginners in web marketing often direct their pay per click
ads to their home site. This is a serious error. People who
click should be sent to a separate landing page that
utilizes the words they used to find your ad. For example,
one of my most success ads uses the key words "learn to
sell" and the landing page opens with the headline "learn
to sell". This allows the visitor to quickly realized they
came to the right site. Don't make visitors find the button
or topic on your main web site. They won't do it.

Effective landing page copy is written from the buyers'
perspective, not yours. Be sure to tell them how your
product or service solves the challenge that brought them
to you. Many successful organizations have hundreds of
landing pages, each optimized for a particular set of
related search engine key words.

Here are tips that make landing pages more effective:

SEO Landing Pages

If you are attempting to drive traffic to your site from
search engines, you will need to create a landing page that
has a high density of key words. Take the key words and
work them into your landing page many, many times. This is
why you see long, rambling landing pages that repeat like a
TV infomercial. These pages are actually written more for
the search engine spiders than for human eyes.

Pay Per Click Landing Pages

We suggest much shorter landing pages for pay per click
campaigns. These should be written more for human eyes and
not search engine robots. Be sure to start with a headline
that matches the keywords that brought your visitor. Early
in the page, show how you will solve the challenge that
brought them and have a call for action "above the fold".

Eliminate Distractions

The landing page is a place to deliver a simple message and
drive your prospect to respond to your offer. Don't try to
do too much. We suggest you remove navigation bars as this
encourages prospects to go to other pages. Keep it to a
solution and a call for action.

Make It Easy For Them To Take Action

Make it as easy as possible for visitors to take the action
you made the page to create. If they have to fill out a
form, only ask for critical information. For example, if
you will be emailing them an e-book, all you need is their
email address and name. Don;t ask for all kinds of other
information. be sure to test all buttons to buy etc to be
sure they actually work.

Don't forget to follow up!

Some visitors will buy on their first visit, but most will
require follow up. Most sales are made after a few follow
up messages are sent. We use Aweber (www.aweber.com) to
automatically send follow up messages every 10 days. Be
sure your follow up messages give them more exciting or
meaty information. People like free information but do not
respond well to many messages asking them to buy.
