How To Prepare For Starting A Home Based Internet Business

How To Prepare For Starting A Home Based Internet Business
If you are interested in starting a home based internet
business, but do not know which kind you would like to
start, you should begin by thinking about your interests
and skills.

In this way, starting a home based internet business is
similar to starting any other business. What can you do
easily that you also love to do, and how can you apply this
to an internet business?

There are many other decisions to make when starting your
own home business. For example, you need to decide if you
want to quit your regular job so you can run your home
business full-time. Maybe you just want to keep your
current job and run this business on the side to make extra
money.

If you do decide to quit your job, you should hold off
doing so for at least a few weeks while you get your home
business up running. This is because, like any regular
brick and mortar business, it will take time for your
company to start making you money. You will need to use all
your free time to market the business for the first month
or so before being able to solely rely on it for income. In
fact, it could take longer, depending on your marketing
efforts. This is why many people start out with a part-time
home business, waiting to see if there is even a market for
the product you are selling.

You also need to figure out if you will have to buy
inventory before making any money. You will need to do this
if you have decided to buy products online and then
personalize them, such as with Bible quotes or inspiring
messages, and then sell them. If you plan on making your
products, you will have to buy the material first.

This is why such a business is somewhat risky. If it turns
out there is no market for your product, you may end up
losing money. For this reason, many people decide to begin
a business that does not involve buying any products, or
have any costs at all. Luckily there are several of those
types of businesses out there.

No matter what type of business you decide to start, you
will need a website. This allows you to showcase all your
products or services in one place that you can easily
direct potential customers to. You can even personalize
your website in order to make a lasting impression on
visitors. All you need to do to set up your site is to
purchase a domain name and choose a web hosting company,
which usually costs a few dollars a month. It is a great
investment for your business.

Once you have made these crucial decisions, you can start
marketing your online business, allowing you plenty more
decisions to make.

10 Important Tips To Consider When Promoting An Affiliate Marketing Program

10 Important Tips To Consider When Promoting An Affiliate Marketing Program
There are many horror stories about being involved in some
affiliate programs and networks. These stories may have
come from illegal or suspect programs that created a lot of
hype without having a real and worthy product.

It is obvious that you want to be associated with a program
that offers a high-quality product that you will readily
endorse. A program's growing number of existing members and
successful affiliates' stories can be proof that it's worth
your time to consider joining.

How do you choose a good affiliate program to promote?

Here are some tips to guide your choices:

1. Look for products and programs that cater to a growing
target market. This will insure a continuous demand from
customers and referrals. Check out forums and discussion
groups for reliable feedback.

2. Choose products that you are interested in. If you are
interested in purchasing the product yourself, the chances
are good that there are many others who are also interested
in buying the same product.

3. Join programs that offer useful products. Research your
niche market and find out if there is a real need for what
your prospective product has to offer. Check out the
competition and see how your product compares in price and
features. This is what your buyers will do. You want to
offer value to that market.

4. Look for a high quality program to promote that is
associated with experts in that area. If they are willing
to endorse a program, you can be more assured that the
program has a high standard. Member and customer
testimonials add to the credibility, too. Forums and
discussion groups are a good place to ask someone else what
their experience has been with the product you want to
offer.

5. Promote products and programs that payout 30% or more
with each sale. Some programs will pay you a commission up
to 80% of the cost of each product you sell. Do not waste
your time with programs that are not willing to
substantially reward you for your efforts.

6. If you're interested in receiving a residual or passive
income each month (one that keeps paying you after the
initial sale) look for a program that offers to add more
resources and tools after you buy in and on an ongoing
basis.

7. Watch out for programs that require minimum quotas or
sales targets that are hard to achieve. Some affiliate
programs impose difficult restrictions before you get paid
for your sales. Be sure that you are capable of attaining
any requirements they have.

8. Select a program that has plenty of tools and resources
that can help you grow your business in the shortest
possible time. Not all affiliate programs contain tools
that you are useful to you.

9. Make sure the program you promote has a proven system
for tracking your sales and lets you check your network and
compensation. It can also be important that it's available
online anytime and from anywhere.

10. Look for programs that offer strong incentives for
members to renew their memberships. Affiliate programs that
provide continuous help and upgrades and new products have
a stronger tendency to retain members and can assure the
growth of your network.

Using these 10 tips to choose wisely, you will gain a
thorough and working knowledge of the affiliate programs
you want to promote. And you will not encounter any
surprises along the way.

Knowing the kind of program you are getting yourself into
in advance will also increase your enthusiasm for your
business that will show up in your promotions and increase
your sales.

Mary Kay- MLM Home Business Review

Mary Kay- MLM Home Business Review
A company that has been around for more than 45 years
should be an MLM success story. And indeed, Mary Kay has
been recognized and awarded for its achievements in direct
sales. Selling a great product from a well-known might seem
easy, but with MLM there is more to it than meets the eye.
Most people agree that their products are high quality.
But generating sales and making your business worth your
time can be challenging. It pays to investigate both how
the company is set up and what makes its people succeed or
fail before you decide to start out as an independent
beauty consultant.

The Ideal Presented

Flexibility, income, and rewards—these are some of
the major benefits the company advertises to prospective
independent beauty consultants. The commission is 50% for
products that you sell at full price. Commissions increase
once you become a sales director with consultants under
you. Thus the three basic levels that the company outlines
are independent consultants (beginning level), independent
sales directors (second level), and independent national
sales directors (top level).

So what are some people so unhappy about?

Many former consultants have complaints about how the
company tends to operate. In reality, it seems that only a
small percentage of independent consultants manage to build
a profitable business. Some of those who have exited blame
the company's business tactics, though it could be that
these women who left found they lacked the time and energy
to make enough sales. Certain ex-consultants complain that
they were pressured to buy large inventories and that what
they sold was not enough to offset their expenses. What has
also rubbed people the wrong way is being targeted as a
prospect by consultants desperate for a sale. Having a
large inventory of products that the consultant was
encouraged to go into debt would probably contribute to a
consultant's desperation. It has been argued that your
chances of moving up the ladder are slim, though for the
few that make it, there are well-known pink perks, those
shiny vehicles being the most well-known.

Those still considering becoming a consultant with an eye
to advance up the ladder should get first hand accounts
from people who have been and are involved in the business.
As with any MLM business, you need to thoroughly discuss
the opportunity with your potential mentor who would be
your sales director. Before you join, remember that you
are in the driver's seat and can interview your future
director. This choice that you have is an advantage over a
traditional job, where the boss interviews you. Especially
with all the unflattering things being said about Mary Kay
directors, serious inquirers should seek the best directors
to work with and not settle for someone who falls short.
If you can find a director who is a woman of integrity,
with experience in selling and building a profitable
business, you may be on the right track. Still you will
need to consider all the factors and assess your own
abilities to decide if this opportunity will enable you to
get the results you are seeking.

Is Your Website Working for Your Business?

Is Your Website Working for Your Business?
The power of a website for small businesses cannot be
emphasized enough. It is a must have marketing tool for
small business owners.

Your website is a gateway to a worldwide group of customers
and prospects; it markets and sells your products and
services; it attracts and converts sales leads; it
establishes your credibility and expertise, and much more.

And as a bonus, a website can do all this at a relatively
low cost to build, maintain and update.

However, just because you have a website up and running,
doesn't mean that it's doing what it's supposed to do in
terms of marketing and sales.

First you need to be really clear on what the purpose of
your website is. For most small business owners and
independent professionals, your website should do the
following:

* Attract qualified prospects

* Convert prospects to customers

* Convert customers to repeat, profitable clients

* Collect the names of people who are interested in your
business offerings

* Act as a 24/7 sales person - taking and processing orders
and providing information

* Establish you and your company's expertise by making
articles, products, resources, speaking schedules, etc.
accessible

So, does your website do all of the above? If not, there
are 3 key areas that you can take a look at:

1. Content of your site

2. Design of your site

3. Promotion of your site

Let's look at each of these in more detail.

1. Content of your site

Most sites focus on the business's products, services,
credentials, history, bios and processes. This information
is not the primary motivator for why people visit your site
- especially for the first time.

People go to a company's website to seek a solution to some
problem or pain that they are experiencing in their
personal or professional life. They quickly scan the
website to see if the site is aimed at them and if it
offers what they are seeking.

They'll download free information (like a special report,
ezine or article) that addresses what they want and need.
They'll sign up for an appointment or buy something, only
if your website content clearly outlines the benefits of
your services and products and it's something that the web
visitors want.

2. Design of your site

Make sure that your website's design, navigation, links and
graphics are all serving the prospects and customers needs.
Are they able to quickly and easily find what they need,
take action and get any questions answered? Are you
getting people to do what you need them to do?

For instance, I want people to sign up for my free special
report so that they quickly get a taste for my marketing
philosophy and they can decide if they want more
information by clicking on my coaching services page. But
I also want to capture their name and email address so that
I can start a marketing relationship with them. So, my
website is designed to make it easy for people to get the
special report and for me to get their contact information
- the opt-in box is on the top of every page and also
mentioned on a couple of the web pages.

Remember that it is the content that will keep visitors on
your site and visiting again and again. However, if your
website's design makes it difficult to find and get any of
this useful content, they will leave and probably won't
come back.

3. Promotion of your site

You've got great benefits-driven and customer-focused
content on your site and the navigation makes it super
simple and fast for people visiting your website to find
what they need.

Now you want to promote your website as many ways as you
can to make sure that you are getting the first-time and
repeat visits to the site.

Some ways that you can start promoting your website
immediately are:

* Write articles, with your website link included in the
resource box at the end, and send to article submission
sites, ezines, forums, websites, associations and
publications of companies that are targeting the same group
of people as you

* Identify and use the keywords people use to search for
your website (and similar sites)

* Make it easy for people to forward on your ezine and
articles to friends and associates

* Make sure your website URL is listed on all marketing
materials: business card, letterhead, brochures, direct
mail, ads, etc.

* Give out your website address anytime you're talking
about your business - at seminars, speaking engagements,
signature on bottom of emails, networking events, on your
phone message, workshops, fundraisers, business functions,
and so on

Take a look today at your website statistics and see if
you're pulling in and keeping all the visitors and
prospects that you want and need. If you're not happy with
the numbers you see, then spend some time with your website
and make sure that the content, design and promotion of
your site is doing all it's supposed to do.

Search Engine 101

Search Engine 101
When promoting your web site or online business most
webmasters are looking for more targeted visitors. Search
engine optimization otherwise known as SEO can help you
accomplish that goal. Sometimes small changes in SEO can
bring your website a tremendous amount of traffic by
bringing your website closer to the top of search engine
results.

A search engine searches the web for information on
relevant topics found on web sites. Internet searches are
performed using keywords. The search engines keep an index
of keywords and where they found them. For instance, if
you search for the keyword vitamin, the search engine will
return a list of sites that contain the word vitamin. The
search engines sort through infinite amounts of data to
help searchers find exactly what they're looking for.

In order for a search engine to be able to provide relevant
results it has to find the information for itself. This is
done using what are called web robots or spiders. These
spiders constantly "crawl" the Internet looking for new
content. Once they find this information it is organized
and indexed into a list. In looking for new information
the web spiders generally begin on popular sites. From
there they spread out following every link on the website.
They index the words on the web sites and in the links
keeping track of where they were found.

At optimal levels the spiders are very fast covering about
100 pages per second. The spiders review web pages behind
the scenes from left to right top to bottom just like we
do. The keyword closest to the top is given more
relevance. As are keywords in bold, title text,
underlined, italicized or highlighted in some way.

In addition to the text you see the spiders also read the
meta tags on the site. Meta tags allow the webmaster to
select key words and ideas to help index the site.

Once the information is found and indexed it is organized
to be used by searchers. The index includes the key word
or key word phrase, The URL, and how many times the keyword
appeared on the page. The job of the search engine is to
return the most relevant results for your search, so key
words are weighted based on the density of the keyword on
the site.

The exact methodology used by the search engines is a
highly guarded secret. It is important to understand some
of the basics of how the search engines work in order to
optimize your page for the search engines.

If you want to maximize the traffic you receive from search
engines it is important to practice good SEO. There's a
tremendous amount of information available on the Internet
including articles, eBooks and even free courses teaching
SEO techniques.

Home Based Business Advertisement: Is It Effective?

Home Based Business Advertisement: Is It Effective?
A lot of people contribute a lot to the profitability of
most Home Based Business but the real question is, "How
would you be able to gauge the efficacy of your Home Based
Business advertisements?" Is it really just about the rise
in the number of sales and inquiry from after the timeframe
with wherein you have released the Home Based Business
advertisements? Of perhaps the brand assessment is also a
contributing factor?

In reality it is not only with those elements that you
measure the quality of your Home Based Business
advertisement, but rather it hinges on a lot of factors
which includes the kind of media which you have employed,
the budget or your assessment for Home Based Business, the
objective of your advertisement, the phase of accuracy and
consistency that is necessitated, who is your target market
and the budget you have allotted for the entire advertising
period for your Home Based Business.

These elements would have to be sufficed first before you'd
be able to precisely proclaim that your particular Home
Based Business advertisement is effective. That is the
reason why a lot of people assert that it is intricate to
gauge their Home Based Business advertisement's efficacy.
Aside from the need to consider many things, there are also
other influential elements for that matter such as the kind
of previous Home Based Business advertisement that had been
released and its quantity.

It is also necessary for you to know the responsiveness of
your consumers to the brand or the product you had
advertised for your Home Based Business. Also, there are
certain instances when you need to gauge the accessibility
of cost effective assessment computation, the area where
you have to place the Home Based Business advertisement,
the choices of matters regarding the product like the price
and sometimes even the capacity of your Home Based Business
direct market to remember. It is also necessary for you to

How To Make Money Using Private Label Rights

How To Make Money Using Private Label Rights
One of the best ways to make money using Private Label
Rights Products is to "Create Your Own Products."

This is one of those things that so many people are afraid
of. But it is quite easy if you use Private Label Rights.

All you have to do is purchase one or a few eBooks with
Private Label Rights, edit them and make them your own. Or
you can purchase Private Label Rights Articles, put them
together and make them into an eBook of your own.

When you acquire access to material with Private Label
Rights, it means that you can do practically anything that
you want to do with the material.

It's very easy to create your own product. You can create
your own eBook the lazy way in a matter of minutes.

All you have to do is purchase an eBook with Private Label
Rights (they are fairly cheap), remove the authors name,
place your name on it as the author, and just like that,
you have your very own product!

Since you can change the content of a Private Label Rights
eBook any way that you wish, the possibilities are endless
as to what you can do with them.

Here are just a few:

You can personalize a Private Label Rights eBook and make
it unique to you simply by changing the outline around in
it. To make a larger eBook, combine the contents of 2
Private Label Rights eBooks together to make it one eBook.

Use the outline of the original eBook, change it around
however you wish, then add more content to it by combining
it with the content of the second eBook. You can change the
information around in the second eBook as well.

However, if you want to make it totally unique to you, then
edit the content of the whole eBook.

Always strive to make sure that you are providing good,
solid information. You can research the topic, if
necessary, to make sure that you are providing solid
information.

Don't forget to fix any spelling and grammatical errors to
make it a more polished and professional product.

You may be asking yourself -- how do I choose a topic for
my eBook?

You can get your topics from places such as forums, Yahoo
Groups, Social networking Groups, MySpace and other online
groups as a good place to start.

Again, make sure you have your link in your signature file.

Another thing that you would want to do when you create
your own product is to look around for potential joint
venture partners.

Joint Venture partners are other network marketers who (for
a percentage of the sale) will help you promote your eBook
by promoting it to their email list.

By offering them 50/50 or 60/40 split of any sales they
bring in, you can make a lot of money, especially if they
have a large mailing list. Just send them a quick email
with your offer.

If you have and opt-in list (and you should) you can also
offer it to your customers on that list.

Never sell yourself short. Find website owners to do joint
ventures with and leave your link in your signature file
when you visit the forums.

Six Keys To Becoming Successful With Internet Marketing

Six Keys To Becoming Successful With Internet Marketing
Focus, Dedicate , Concentrate

Have you ever had a job? Do you currently have a job?

Yeah, I know some web marketers make fun of the word "job"
referring to a situation where you actually "go to work"
everyday for an employer. Because they are self employed,
they consider themselves "free" from the humdrum existence
that the majority of people live.

Is there really much difference?

Well, yes it's always better to be able to chart your own
course.

However, outside of that, both ways of making a living
demand the same kind of time, effort, and dedication. O
yes, there are the glamour stories of the occasional
internet star who puts together a web page and "gets rich
overnight". You really have no idea of the actual time that
was invested..

The reality, even if you're running your own internet
business, is that dedication, lots of time and work, and
single minded focus are the leading causes of marketing
success. Yes...in fact, it's very likely that the self
employed marketer will put in even more time than if he
were working for an outside employer.

Oh, but the rewards of being one's own navigator are so
wonderful that the time and dedication required are always
worth it!

Here's an old saying that is pretty much true: If you want
to make a living...get a job, if you want to make money, be
your own boss.

However, being your own boss requires dedication, and drive.

If you are willing to invest yourself, you can make a lot
of money with internet marketing. In order to be
successful on line...I mean make a lot of money, there are
six very important factors to consider:

1. You must have a goal. You must set the amount of
income you plan to make for the month. You cannot allow
yourself to fall below the planned amount. If you have
leisure time, it's after you've assured your specified
income for the month. It doesn't matter that you are
working for yourself...name your wages.

2. You must have a plan for reaching that goal. If your
business is centered around dog training, you must
determine what types of info documents, and how many - at
what price-you'll need to market for the month in order to
reach your income goal. You must also determine what kinds
of and how much free information you must put together for
your loyal customers. You must determine how much time
you'll dedicate to research for your market. You must lay
out on your calendar, the work that must be completed each
day.

3.You must focus on completing each step of your plan. You
must not be distracted. You must complete each step of the
plan. Remember, this is not a hobby. This is your
livelihood. The relaxation comes after the business is
established and able to run on autopilot.

4. You must not rely solely on your autopilot. Stay in
touch with your market. Correspond with them. Ask them what
they need. Ask them how you can better help them. Send them
good free info.

5. You must learn to tweak. Once you have your business up
and running, you must be willing to tweak it here and there
and test the results until it is producing at a maximum
return. Don't settle for less if it will produce more.

6. Finally, give something back. Don't forget the
marketplace who enabled you to work your business. Help
others be successful. This will pay you more than all the
money in terms of satisfaction and fulfillment.
