3 Tips to Building Your Email Marketing System the Wrong Way

3 Tips to Building Your Email Marketing System the Wrong Way
Go to any internet marketing forum and ask the following
question: If you had to start your internet company all
over again but were allowed to incorporate just one item
from your previous business what would it be? Some
marketers may say a certain traffic generating technique or
advertising method which has made them a lot of money.
Others may pick a specific product or service. But you can
bet that the overwhelming majority will say if they had to
decide on just one thing, it would be their opt in email in
list. According to Direct Marketing Association, revenue
generated last year from email marketing was projected at
18.5 billion dollars and that was just in the United States
alone. The advent of filters due to spam email makes it
tougher to contact your target audience but having your own
email marketing system remains essential to online success.

But you can take it to the bank, that anytime a good thing
comes along, some people will do everything in their power
to shortcut or game the system and ruin it for everyone
else. They will then try to convince many people who are
just starting out to do the same. If you want to build your
email list the wrong way then.

1. Buy the List

There are many distributors online who will sell you an
email list. This is a very ineffective way of marketing
since these lists are usually to general in nature. You
make a list mailing purchase of 10,000 names and addresses
but the number of people who are going to be interested in
your product or service will be minuscule. Another problem
is that many people on the list never asked to be sent a
solicitation, which brings up the question of how did the
distributors compile the list? Unsolicited emails are a
good way to get accused of spamming.

2. Email Harvesting

A few years back many a website offered software to gather
emails from online profiles, forum postings, mailing lists
and various other places. The software would look for
anything that appeared to be an email address and then
compile it into a list. While not as prominent as before,
this software still exists. You maybe able to find a
legitimate email distributor to buy a list from but email
harvesting is spamming; pure and simple. This method will
get you in a lot of trouble.

3. Selling, Selling Everywhere

You post to forums and message boards on a regular basis
however no one is signing up. A big reason for this is you
may not be contributing any useful dialogue to the
discussion. Instead you bombard them with one sales pitch
after another. It does not matter if your webpage has an
opt in form at the bottom; all visitors see is a huge "by
my product" sign. When you visit forums offer up quality
information that adds to the topic. Let the other forum
members get to know you before you start pitching your
products. Even then a better strategy is to provide
something of quality to them for free as long as they opt
in to your list. Never underestimate the power of the
freebie.

Opt in email marketing is arguably still the best way to
generate a steady stream of customers and revenue. Yes it's
been made tougher but that does not mean the system has
been rendered useless. Just stay away from the shady
practices or quick fixes and you will have no trouble
building a responsive opt in email list of people who
cannot wait to hear from you.

Should You Change Your Website Often?

Should You Change Your Website Often?
It seems like some websites are changing as often as every
few minutes. And while this seems to make sense for news
sites and those that want to provide readers with up to
date information, does this necessarily make sense for your
business website? You want to show your visitors that
you're constantly innovating your business, but at the same
time, does changing all the time seem like you just can't
make up your mind about what you have to offer? Here's
what you need to think about before you build your business
website.

The Case for Change

There is certainly something to be said for always being
fresh and new. When your visitors are looking for the
latest and greatest fads in clothing, for example, you need
to be able to deliver these trends as soon as they're on
the red carpet or the runway. Change also shows your
visitors that you are always looking out for them and their
needs. You can include a daily blog, for example, that
gives up to date information on the state of affairs in
your business or perhaps on trends in the products you are
selling. You might also want to keep a streaming band of
words across your website to show updates on things like
interest rates or stock market quotes. By keeping your
website alive with new information, your visitors will see
that you're interested in the long term health of your
company.

The Case for Keeping Things the Same

On the other hand, you also might want to look into keeping
your website the same most of the time. While there will
be a need to change things up from time to time as things
are out of date, keeping the basic setup of your website
can help regular visitors feel like you are consistent and
easy to keep up with. When you're always changing things,
a customer can become confused as to how to do things on
your site or whether or not your site is something they
should spend time on.

The Verdict: It Depends on Your Customer Base

In the end, the case for change will largely depend on
whether or not your customers are looking for constant
updates. And this depends on your business focus. If you
are trying to give your customers up to date gossip, yes,
you will need to change your site a lot. But if you offer
the same products over the course of a month, there's
really no need to change your website until you change your
stock.

There will always be times when you will need to change
your website - as in when you introduce a new item or you
discontinue an item or pricing scheme. But the overall
consensus is that you might want to keep the basic
structure for return visitors to your site.

Introducing Change to Your Visitors

If you plan on changing your website significantly, you
might want to let your customers know well in advance of
the actual change. This will give you time to get feedback
on your changes as well as help you roll out your new look
with minimal problems and concerns. Post a 'sign' on your
website about the upcoming change and then provide a link
to how the new website will look. Giving visitors a list
of the changes they can expect to see will also help them
see what they will notice when you eventually follow
through.

Change is good, but when it scares away customers, it's not
always the best idea. However, you also don't want to keep
your website up for so long that you begin to seem
outdated. Changing things up every season is a reasonable
schedule without being too confusing for visitors.

Authority Site Building Blueprint - What You Need To Do

Authority Site Building Blueprint - What You Need To Do
If your aim is not just to survive, but pronounce your
presence online more prominently, then an authority site is
your solution.

An authority site will have more content, more pages and
more links added to its body. The quality of content should
be very relevant, original, up-to-date and complete. The
site will be such a high quality statement of the genre
that other sites will want to add their links and refer the
authority site's link on other pages.

Now, to build an authority site you need to be very
conscious and diplomatic. It is imperative that you have a
wide knowledge of your industry, present market conditions
along with a well researched market segmentation and
identification of targeted readers before you embark on
authority content. You would also need to have an
understanding and a full knowledge of how the content
works, the various high networking options and
sophisticated web site builders with guaranteed SEO ranking.

A successful authority site would also require identifying
and collaborating with similar sites, finding new marketing
ways like adding link baits.

Here is a step-by-step guide or blueprint if you will on
how you can successfully create an authority site.

Step #1. Product Research.

To build an authority site the first thing you need to do
is to know everything about your product. Whatever product
you are launching, or whatever service you are offering -
first get all the primary data on it. This will give you an
idea about the content for the pages of your site. Arrange
your knowledge in an importance based order - this will
give you an idea about what your content would be and where
would you need to place them. Also, a wide knowledge of
your product or service will help you throughout the
process.

Step #2. Market Research.

Now study the market. Generally, large organizations hire
market researchers for this job because it is very
systematic and needs a vast knowledge of statistics and
marketing. As you go with market research, you will know
your competitors, the current industry situation, nature
and quantity of demand. This will help you revise your
content to suit the demands of online optimization. Your
study of your competitors will make you aware about the
current industry standards and help you set your goals
above them. This process is necessary because it can give
you the list of important links that you can add on your
sites.

Step #3. Audience Research.

This step starts from market segmentation and identifying
your target readers. This will make you reshape your
content accordingly. Moreover, it will give you an idea
about the designing of your site keeping in mind the target
age group and financial segment of your audience.

Step #4. Planning the Site.

This is the most important step. Because here you have to
apply all your knowledge and on this depends your future
prospects. Plan your site according to your link strategy,
keyword fundamentals and keyword saturation. Plan web
hosting including emails, file manager, fantastico, traffic
stats, log files and cpanel. You may also add link baits to
accumulate more links on your site. It is a good idea to
arrange blog-space as it will automatically increase your
content. Above all, design your site in such a way that all
users feel comfortable, free and tempted to visit your site
more often.

Step #5. Developing & Designing.

This is the step where you realize your project. You may
use different website ranking optimization tools like
ContentPress, Pheedpress to your site. This also includes a
rough hand out submission to major search engines, press
releases with submission to DMOZ and various directories,
booking web space, registering domain name and ultimately
designing your site attractively and uploading.

Step #6. A Strategic Marketing Plan.

As you launch your site, it is also now time to market your
site. There are popular methods to market your site like
Search Engine Optimization with monthly link building
campaign, search engine ranking report, link campaign
status report and more. This will continue with a thorough
online marketing, Internet promotion services, periodic up
gradation, troubleshooting, indexing and all other relevant
services.

These 6 steps I outlined above will give you a good head
start with creating your first authority site. I recommend
you read through them one more time so it really soaks in,
then sit down and start thinking about what you want your
first authority site to be about, then take action.

Good luck and have fun.

Who Is Mining Your Master Mind?

Who Is Mining Your Master Mind?
As a student of Napoleon Hill, with a Napoleon Hill forum
and lens, I keep attuned to the Napoleon Hill principles
which were channeled to Hill by a divine source.

Since the publication of Hill's book, "Think and Grow
Rich", whole empires exist because of these principles.

Since reading "Think and Grow Rich", I wanted to be apart
of a Master Mind group.

But this opportunity was not available anywhere in my life.

My friends in the nursing or teaching fields don't
necessarily partake in the entrepreneurial vision. They are
content to complain about the realities of the workplace
and feel powerless to change some of the idiocies we all
confront.

But nurses love their patients, and teachers, their
students. Often we stay stuck because of this love we have
for our charges.

My adventures as an Internet Marketer has elevated my
vision. My first e-book and web-page is laying the
foundation for my success in building my own Portable
Empire.

I joined Pat O'Bryan's Portable Empire University prior to
the launching of his book: Your Portable Empire: How To
Make Money Anywhere Doing What You Love.

Soon after, Pat O'Bryan created Your Portable Empire Island
over at Second Life, with the original intention of
promoting his book.

Portable Empire Island has been a powerful experience for
those of us who visit regularly.

For instance, we meet people we already knew from the
University Forum at the island, and in the 3-D setting of
Second Life where our little avatars communicate with
everyone else's little avatar, these relationships are
deepening.

Last night, we spontaneously formed a Master Mind group for
Internet Marketers specifically to gain clarity on the
projects we already have in our minds or have already
started.

Napoleon Hill describes a Master Mind as: When two or more
people meet, an unseen power is also present to lead and
guide the group to further inspiration and insight.

Each person in the group comes to the meeting with a
specific question or challenge and puts these before the
group. Then each person decides what he/she will accomplish
towards his/her goal by the time the group meets again.

For instance, if my challenge is an unfinished sales letter
that needs to be written before I can write my e-book, then
the group may offer suggestions for the major headline and
body of the sales letter.

My goal may then be to have the sales letter written by the
time of the next meeting.

Each Master Mind member in turn describes her/his
challenge, and each member contributes her insight and
intuition as to how to remedy the challenge or problem.

The unseen forces influence the minds of everyone there.

The Master Mind IS the power of the unseen, operating as
creativity, flow and the higher acquisition of enlightened
manifestation of all that is possible to achieve in this
life time.

What you may think is impossible to achieve at point A of
the journey suddenly becomes real.

I am new to the Master Mind game, but because I asked the
Universe to provide me with the perfect group, I believe
the perfect group appeared.

Pat O'Bryan was there when this Master Mind was born.

He was on the phone with Bill Hibler when I mentioned to
the group that I was reading Bill's (and Joe Vitale's)
book: "Meet and Grow Rich." The book is about the way to
form a Master Mind group.

Pat wrote about this in his blog.

Synchronicity, master minds and destiny---all the
components for the perfect hair raising, goose bumping, AHA
moment--at the Meeting Of The Minds.

5 Opt In List Management Secrets That Really Work

5 Opt In List Management Secrets That Really Work
Do you have a list of your own? And how are you going about
building it. Let's talk for a minute about opt in email
list marketing. When you break it down you come up with
components.

1. Email marketing

2. Lists

3. Opt in

If you do Internet marketing you should be doing email
marketing. If you do email marketing you should be building
one or more lists. If you are building a list or two they
should be opt in. This just means that the person agrees to
receive email from you.

If it is not opt in, or even double opt in, you could be
accused of spamming. Do that enough times and you will be
in danger of losing your list. I should know, it happened
to me.

In the summer of 2003 I was using an autoresponder that
claimed to email for customers with lists of over 1 million
people. My list was made up of over 125,000 subscribers I
bought 10,000 at a time. They all had a ISP, date and time
stamp, so they were legitimate. I was protected, I thought.

Anyway I went away on vacation to Mexico and when I came
back I had lost my list and my domain name. The
autoresponder company had been shut down due to spam
complaints from all of the members in total. OUCH!

So I went about building an opt in email list for marketing
by getting my subscribers one at a time and making sure
they confirmed they wanted email from me. I use AWeber for
this and have not had one problem now in 4 years.

Here is what is great about doing it that way. I get a
chance to sell 3 times.

1. On my subscription form

2. On my confirmation request email telling them to
activate their subscription

3. On my thank you for confirming your subscription email

I like to offer a small bonus in the email requesting they
confirm. There is so much junk mail that sometimes people
just need a nudge to follow through and confirm.

And I even like to offer one more bonus on the thank you
page and in the thank you for confirming email. Doing this
builds some good will and keeps people from unsubscribing.

One other thing is to point them to your privacy page where
you emphatically state that you hate spam just as much as
they do. You will never share their contact information. I
put this on my sign up form and again remind them of it in
the request to confirm email. This will increase your
confirmation rate for sure!

Another thing I like to do is spruce on the thank you page
they get from AWeber. These are usually pretty cut and
dried and people can get used to seeing it and clickin away
before reading it. Liven it up a little with another bonus
or a graphic or to. If you have a logo or a picture of
yourself add it here. This just helps brand yourself, your
company, and your product.

Finally when doing opt in email lists marketing make those
first few emails you send really good. I mean so good that
a person would be crazy for unsubscribing. If you have a
blog post in it and get your list visiting it. If you email
in html add some pictures, your logo again, affiliate
banners, or anything to seem like your business is alive
and fun to be around!

Hopefully this will make your opt in email list marketing
more effective. As they say, the money is in the list and a
quality one is worth the time it takes to build it right.

Multiple Streams Of Iincome. Don't be A Program Jumper

Multiple Streams Of Iincome. Don't be A Program Jumper
This is a huge topic and is one that you must completely
understand. Otherwise, you will get ripped off and lose a
lot of money. Let me explain what multiple streams of
income are and what they are not. Multiple streams of
Income are a concept that many millionaires use to have
many revenue avenues. Michael Corcoran, who was the founder
of the first multiple income stream marketing system on the
internet in 2001, would agree with this concept.

When Mike Corcoran created the first Multiple income stream
marketing system, he never imagined how so many people
would take advantage of this concept and use it against you
to rip you off. Before I get into detail about the ways
that these so called "internet Gurus" are taking advantage
of you, I'll get into the way it was intended to be used.

Multiple income streams was intended for a person to start
a business with one company, affiliate program, M.L.M. or
direct sales company. It was intended for a person to
master one program, have success with it for a minimum of
one to two years and then add another business to the
portfolio when, and only when, the first business was
running on autopilot. While still running the first
business, putting little time into it because it was
running so well, focus a little more time and money into
the second business to get that one up to speed where it
was duplicating the results of the first business. This is
how you can double your results. Like I said, it usually
would take a year or two to get a business and multiple
incomes up to the level where they were running on
autopilot.

If you have spent many years developing the above strategy,
it is alright to add a third or a fourth business to the
portfolio as long as you maintained the original
businesses. Adding more than one business to your portfolio
in less than a year just proves that person is not focused
and says a lot about their character. Having a total of
more than 3-4 businesses in a portfolio just means that a
person is simply a program jumper and is out to take your
money.

Program jumping is becoming more and more popular these
days from these so called "internet gurus". This is a
typical case in which someone is a program jumper. Watch
out for these people. If someone has joined three programs
in 6 months time, they are a program jumper. Program
jumping makes sense for the leader of jump. They usually
say things like "Brand New" or "Get in Early" or "This one
is so much better". The truth is, they take all the
followers from program to program to program. They make
excuses of why they left to old program to find another
one. The truth is, they have suckered all the people they
can sucker into the first program and their income is
suffering, so they say they've found a better mouse trap
over here, so come and join me over here and you'll make a
ton of money with me over here.I know people who have
joined 5 programs in 7 months. Anytime a new program came
on the market, they were in it, suckered all the people
they could into it until the next new program came about.

I know several people, who on the outside look great, but
jump ship every two months. They put together training
packages, marketing tools such as capture pages and auto
responders, professionally written letters, etc. They look
like a leader until you pay them $1000 for program A, then
another $1000 for program B, the $1500 for program C and so
on. Pretty soon, they are rich, you are broke and left to
fend for yourself.

Use your common sense out there. Do your homework before
you join anything with anybody. The first question should
be, What else do you promote? What have you tried.? How
many have you tried this year? Last year? If they do NOT
have a stable track record, run for the hills. Think about
it. If you were an employer and wanted to hire an employee
and you get an applicant that has had four jobs this year
alone, would you hire them? NO Way! You know that by the
time you trained them, they would leave looking for more
money! Isn't that right?

My suggestion, use your common sense and beware of the so
called "Internet Guru". They disguise themselves as an
expert, but they are really just program jumpers.
