Your Portable Empire And Second Life

This was the week when Pat O'Bryan launched his new book:
"Your Portable Empire: How To Make Money Anywhere While
Doing What You Love."

I'm a member of Pat's Portable Empire University, where
hours and hours of audio and video teach the student
everything about how to build and automate an online
business and their own portable empire.

Members can access a forum where all questions are answered
by the knowledgeable students as well as by Pat O'Bryan
himself.

I know that any question has an answer. My friends at the
University are more than generous with their explanations.

In preparation for "Your Portable Empire" book launch, Pat
created the Portable Empire Island at Second Life.

This has been an amazing experience and adventure for
someone who was raised just as television was introduced
into the 1950's home arena.

As kids, we played outside until dark, and had the run of
my crimeless hometown. We knew everyone and could depend on
the kindness of this extended community.

When Pat opened Portable Empire Island, I was one of the
first to arrive.

It took me three days to learn how to walk instead of fly
my little avatar, alter ego personality, Mooie Infinity.

Second Life is now voice enabled but for now I hear sounds
like water falls and laughter, as well as the sound of
typing as we type our messages to everyone at the virtual
chat room.

The beauty of this experience far surpasses what any of us,
including Pat O'Bryan ever imagined.

When I need a break from product creation, or article
writing, or blog posting, gardening, weed pulling,
housecleaning, or after a twelve hour shift at the
hospital, I log into Second Life and socialize with my
friends there.

Because of this interaction, we feel more connected to one
another at the University.

And because we discuss our projects and encourage one
another to define how we wish to create a Portable Empire
of our own, the creative energies are flowing.

In just the first week of my experience at Portable Empire
Island at Second Life, I decided on a project, began the
research, began the sales letter, and decided on the first
bonus.

Each time I visit Portable Empire Island and further
discuss ideas, another exciting insight surfaces.

I go to sleep and awake with other action plans to add to
the original vision.

Napoleon Hill didn't conceive of this modern day Master
Mind potential.

But then again, neither did any of us.

Pat O'Bryan's avatar sits in on our various musings,
sometimes making a well placed comment.

He says he has 2 laptops going at the same time, one to
stay logged to Second Life, the other to write, blog, keep
updated on the Amazon ratings for the book, as well as
whatever else he does.

Soon he may need 3 laptops!!

Lawyers can also see clients at Second Life.

Coaches coach, teachers teach, counselors counsel.

People can dance over at the disco.

Barak O'Bama, Hillary and John Edwards each have their own
islands at Second Life.

I thought my siblings and I could buy an island, meet there
and chat, giggle and discuss life. We all live far from
each other.

This way, we would feel more connected.

For now, I enjoy my time at Portable Empire Island. Pat
O'Bryan's generosity and cutting edge vision has added a
new dimension to internet marketing.

One that is sure to get the attention of all the other
internet marketing gurus in the weeks ahead.

Is Online Poker illegal in the US? What's really going on?

There are some interesting things going on in the world of
online poker. For starters let's clarify what the current
law is in the US regarding online poker. The only thing
that is currently illegal in the US in regards to online
poker has to do with financial institutions (banks). In a
nutshell, it is illegal for banks and processing companies
in the US to process transactions related to online gaming
period. A gaming site operator could also go down for
aiding and abetting.

A U.S. online poker player has never been prosecuted for
playing online poker. There are still at least four large
online poker rooms that still take bets from US players.
Those rooms are Full tilt Poker, Poker Stars, Ultimate
bet, and Bodog. The funny thing is that these poker rooms
have endorsed players that you still see all over the
television. Like, Jamie Gold, Joe Hachem, Chris
Moneymaker, Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, and many more. These
online poker companies are private which allows them to
avoid much scrutiny in the public eye.

It's amazing. I am playing poker on Bodog right now as I
am writing this article. I used my ATM visa debit card to
make a deposit on Bodog. The transaction was instantly
approved by my US Bank. The bank I use is called U.S. Bank.

In essence, the UIGEA poker ban passed on October 13th,
2007 has had a very small impact on US poker players.
Ironically, the US online poker market has been
consolidated into the hands of a few wealthy people and
companies. The online poker rooms still exist and the ones
like Poker stars that still take US players have grown by
several hundred percent or more overnight.

There appears to be no end in sight to US poker. Online
poker is a multi -billion dollar a year industry, and the
US market only accounts for 50% of it. Regardless of the
US laws on the book, there is nothing federally illegal
about a US citizen placing a poker wager online. There are
11 states whom have laws against it, so you should check
the laws in your jurisdiction before ever making a wager of
any kind online.

Ironically, it is also possible for a US citizen to own

isn't based in the US and that the company does not take
wagers from US players. There are many legal opportunities
to get involved in this immense market for any person in
any country.

The much anticipated UIGEA court hearing to repeal the US
law has been pushed up to September 26th 2007. The case is
being filed by iMEGA. The defendants are the U.S.
Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission and the
Federal Reserve Board of Governors - all agreed to the date
change. The reason for delay is that the defendants asked
for more time to prepare their case.

Time will only tell as it appears the courts' decision and
ruling could go either way.

day. Every one's definition of success varies so it is
more than possible that there is always a niche that needs
you to fill it. Stop going through life looking out for
your bosses best interests while you know they care very
little about your needs and desires. Working yourself into
exhaustion for a fraction of what your employer actually
gains is nonsense.

Stop wasting your money and energy to pass up two sales,
and there is no need for "qualifying" orders. Why should
you "qualify" to run your own business. Your financial
freedom is your only way out of the rat race and into a
life of tranquility and independence. Take the time to
understand how to manage money, how to invest, and what
business you would be good at. What is your niche? You
will be most successful in a business if you truly love
what you are getting rich off of.
