that comes your way. You have to be able to overcome

Invest In Your Future

In the beginning of your marketing experience there are
many things that you can do to promote your business for
free. However, at some point you are going to have to start
investing in your business. My advice is sooner rather than
later.

Many people make the mistake of skimping on their
advertising budget. The old adage is definitely true, "If
you want to make money, you have to spend money." You could
spend $5,000 per month advertising, but if you earn $50,000
in that same month, it's all relative.

You also have to reinvest your earnings. That brand new
house or car might look intriguing, but just think of how
much more you could have if you are patient and grow your
business. Don't get greedy.

It is possible to become a King or Queen of online
marketing, but it won't happen overnight. Be patient and
keep learning.

Recently some promotional videos claim top ranking quickly,
but the advice given is not quite right. This relates to
several products I have seen recently on using video for
Google ranking and the way they are being promoted.

Some of these promotions are been portrayed as a 5 minute
push button solution to top search engine ranking, and in
the example, they are correct but there is more too it than
that. Warning rave coming...........

Lets say you are playing a game of tennis against a 10 year
old. You, as the adult, don't need to work hard, just a few
well placed shots and you are winning. Great for the ego,
but not really any kind of achievement.

Now lest say your 10 year old runs home crying and brings
back his brother, Sam. Now the brother plays some tennis,
but you still achieve a win. (Bare with me I do have a
point....)

Now the win this time provides a much better feeling and
you have achieved something over a similar opponent.

Now let say the brothers says his cousin also plays tennis
and he is currently staying with them. He asks if you would
be interested in playing him? " Sure " you say after all
you have had success already and are feeling confident.

The cousin arrives and suddenly you don't feel so
confident- he introduces himself, but he really didn't need
too...."Hi, I am Sam's cousin, Pete" - You shake his hand
and you stutter....Pete Samapras?

He nods and you begin to play. Very quickly he wipes the
previous smile from your face when each and every ball is
sent past you for another point.

Now what's my point here.

Now did the game change? No

Did the rules change? No

Did the standard of competition change? Yes

The competition playing field had changed creating
different results.

People just love the fast quick fix. It is a video service
product which allows you to upload videos to several places
instantly and also create social bookmarks for you.

The video that is being shown creates ranking in Google in
the top 5 in hours not months.

Here is where I have a problem....The example shows what I
call an "ego keyword" - good for ego, not for pocket - not
a money making keyword. The term that its shows rank for
does not have enough people searching for it. (so what is
the point anyway?)

Due to it being brand new content, Google would
automatically rank it high, after a few days it would then
suffer a "Google bounce" and it settle back down to a
reasonable position. That really doesn't matter because not
enough people are searching for it any way

See this is the competition comes in. If it were a money
keyword, then it would have competition, from at least some
sites that know what they are doing. Who wants to be ranked
high for something no one is likely to be searching on? I
have yet to see anybody prove using video is a way of
getting real money making top rankings. Please point me to
someone if you know anybody!

You can get traffic from videos and viral marketing going
on by putting the videos up and getting others to comment
on them, making them top in Youtube which will bring you
some recognition and more visitors- Really this is using a
database to drive it.

The final point is to stop looking for the "microwave"
search engine ranking results- The major search engines
don't allow it to happen. Anybody can achieve a top ranking
if they have done the work to get it.

Imagine you are five years old and it's Christmas day. You
rush downstairs to the tree to see what Santa has left and
find not a thing, not one present. You look at the
carefully left mince pie and glass of milk by the chimney
and see it untouched. What has happened?

You just don't know what to think so you run off to find
mum and dad. They are looking very sad, and with tears in
their eyes tell you that "Santa didn't come", in fact they
say "He didn't even know you existed and doesn't even have
our address".

What a shock that would be, your whole life would seem to
crumble, you wouldn't know what to think, what a horrible
experience...

However when you think of it from Santa's point of view, he
has quite a few (million) people to visit, so it's not
surprising that he might miss one, especially when they
haven't gone to any trouble to tell him where they live..

The really sad thing however, is that this is happening to
countless businesses every day, their websites never
getting a visit simply because "no one knows they exist"
and "no one has their address". Thus no one, including
Santa, ever comes to call and the websites sit there all by
themselves and are no use to man nor beast.

But what is the answer to their plight?, it's quite simple
really, their websites need marketing, they need someone to
"tell" the Search Engines that they exist and make sure
that their site when visited, "tells" the right story, one
that will get them noticed in the crowd, and get them those
all important visits.

This "marketing" is called Search Engine Optimisation (or
SEO for short) and contrary to many is not a black art, but
one that needs good old fashioned hard work and the
knowledge of how the Search Engines work. It's all about
looking to see what words people are using when they a
searching for what the website is "selling" and then
"weaving" these words into the web sites pages, in the
right place in the right way and in right frequency.

It's very important however to remember that these pages
have to "tell" their story to both the Search Engines and
any human visitor, to do one is no good, you have to do
both, and that takes a bit of skill.

Alas, though, to work only on the pages will more than
likely not be enough, you also have to prove that a website
is popular enough to merit getting a listing, and that
means getting lots of links pointing at it. Of course these
have to be the right links, which is another story, but get
it all right and Santa (and all those other lovely
visitors) will be sure to call.

So don't be the owner of a lonely website, go and get it
"marketed", get it optimised for the Search Engines, you'll
not regret it.

That's sounds like a pretty sweet deal, and I think most
people would think so as well!

Something that I found to be somewhat alarming was that on
the Passport to Wealth site under the compensation plan it
states, "In fact the compensation plan is preferred by home
business leaders because it provides immediate cash flow ",
however, during my research I found quite the contrary
because a new member not only has to pay the $997 to get
access to the product line, but they also have to pass up 2
sales before they can earn any return on their money. This
didn't sound like immediate cash flow to me, in fact, a new
representative is actually giving up over $3000 before they
can expect to see a profit.

Here's something that you might want to watch out for while
on your quest for a perfect wealth formula. Ask yourself,
How long have these e-book products been around?" In
comparison to other products are these generic or are they
cutting edge? "Are they in demand and how resalable are
they?" Some titles like Adsense Money Machine and
Autoresponder Plus are examples of products that have been
around on other sites for less than $10 per month. Be aware
of products that have flooded the market and are widely
distributed.

It will be interesting to see how Passport to Wealth
handles the struggles that they are having with the
competing programs that carry re-sale rights to such
cutting edge products like flash video and what if any
adjustments that they might make.

One of the biggest myths that newbie's are made to believe
today is that everyone is their prospect. If they can't
convert someone from a prospect to a customer it's because

In most cases it doesn't have anything to do with the level
of dedication or the belief in a product. While networking
is like any other career in that it takes work to see
results. It doesn't matter how much I hound a potential
prospect if I don't know the right approach my success rate

prospect. Some people are automatically suspicious of
anything that relates to MLM businesses. Some people love
their job and wouldn't give it up for a million bucks. Some
people are scared to death of anything that involves risk.

Whatever the reason it's a waste of your time and energy to
try and convince anyone to get involved in this business.

The bottom line is no one is worth your time until they
have shown an interest in what you're offering. That's
right I know it goes against all the conventional MLM
wisdom that has probably been passed on to you by your up
line. If you really think about it for a minute places like
Wal-Mart for example don't phone and harass potential
customers to come in and buy their products. You would
never see an associate turning up at your door trying to
drag you into their store would you?

It doesn't matter if you think their the perfect prospect.
: Great people skills, sick of their job ect. It doesn't
even matter if their looking to start their own business.
Until they go out of their way to get more information from
you they are not a prospect.

Your job is not to try and convert people. Anyone who has
made any money in this business knows you are trying to get
the maximum return on your time and effort. MLM up lines
love to tell you that trying to recruit friends and family
members by dragging them to hotel meetings is perfect for
the average person because it costs nothing. I don't care
how loyal you think mom, dad or your hairdresser is do you
think they want any part of having to solicit people to
join a business?

When you Market this way it shows them that you are to
cheap or inexperienced to invest in respectable marketing
methods. If you spend all your time chasing prospects you
will be viewed as a nuisance. When people seek you out you
are viewed as the expert. Don't get me wrong I have nothing
against MLM businesses but you have to take the time to
learn the proper way to position yourself.

The thing is the person is a guy posing as a girl wanting
to meet people. They set up a bogus account with the dating
site and a ppc company and all they do is go for ppc income.

What was interesting to me is the writer was pumped up
about the idea and every response was from people who were
not comfortable trying it or did try it and felt bad about
tricking people who actually replied to their ad on the
dating site.

This got me thinking about ethical marketing and how
important is it when it comes to making money online. Some
people will think of this as ethical behavior or ethical
integrity and these words are searched in various forms on
Google everyday.

WHY?

You run your business online everyday that requires you to
make ethical decisions in how you deal with your customers.
Most of us never give it a second thought because we
understand the golden rule....

"Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you"

If you promote a product that cheats people or takes their
money is this the correct way to behave? With the explosion
of social networking and the impact it can have on your
business do you feel a certain ethical social
responsibility to treat people the way you would want them
to treat you.

How about selling a product that you know will not deliver
what it says it does, but it has a great sales page and
converts well. You make excellent commissions on it as
well. Is it o.k. to continue to sell that!

How about this? You buy a report that comes with no resell
rights, yet you give it away as a bonus for joining your
mailing list. You think so highly of it that you feel
people must have it, so you give it away by justifying the
good it will do.

What kind of a vibe will you get back for this kind of
marketing. Is that ethical to do? This does cheat the
author out of commissions, but you are helping the people
who will read it.

Ethics in the workplace have long been a part of almost
every orientation a person gets when they start a new job.
However, I have never seen any kind of a course offered
online teaching this very topic to internet marketers.

Internet marketing ethics are left up to the individual and
we all kind of adopt a "let the buyer beware" mentality.

So I would like to suggest that if you are going to do
anything in your business and you question if what you are
about to do it morally correct, do not do it. Error on the
side of caution.

Ethical marketing is a choice that you get to make, but
will have to live with long after your internet business is
over and you are dead and gone from this earth.

Ever since I started Network Marketing, I have been on a
mission to learn the secrets to how top income earners
succeed and why most people who start their network
marketing business don't.

I'm going to share with you some important key principles
that only the top marketers in the world truly know, to
creating wealth in this changing industry. You can learn
all the cutting edge techniques you want to help your
business grow, but the truth is, techniques change but
principles don't.

So if you ever desire to grow your down-line massively in
your first year, pocket more profits in your business (and
still keep your friends!) understanding and applying these
principles WILL separate you from the pack. And you know
what? People will be coming up to you to find out how you
do what you do!

What I have learned from successful network marketers are
these common traits they possess despite their own unique
story of growing their business. I have outlined a few of
these traits or characteristics which you and I can learn
and develop over time.

1. They are passionate and truly believe in their product.

Simply put, it is absolutely important to your success that
you are a product of the company's product. So if you do
not think your company offers the best products or services
you are in the wrong company. Additionally if you do not
care nor use the products that your company offers because
you just want to make some money, believe it or not, you
are in the wrong business.

On the contrary you do not have to be a product expert
and/or know everything there is to know about your product
or service. The response you will get from the successful
leaders is something like, "I am not entirely sure how the
product works; all I can tell you is that since I started
taking it I feel awesome!" These people use their products
everyday and talk to people about their amazing results of
using the product. Just be able to give a simple personal
testimony of why use it. A good example might be weight
loss or overcoming health challenges, or whatever the case
may be.

2. They know their WHY and have a plan.

Determine WHY it's an absolute MUST to achieving your goal
- your purpose of doing the business. Really take the time
to define what this business means for you to improving
your current situation. Begin to create a dream that
inspires you - more than you could ever imagine possible
for yourself. Because if your dream doesn't scare you, it's
probably not big enough! As my mentor said, "Dreams are the
fuel that give you the motivation you need to put in the
extra mile."

Developing a detailed action plan or game plan is using a
specific strategy to setting and achieving your goals. I
update and go over my plan every month as I continue to do
new things. I have my WHY on the top of the page, then list
down all of my prospecting methods I plan to use for that
month. Not all successful marketers use the exact method I
use but they definitely have a why and a game plan.

3. They understand the importance of being a student.

Keep your dreams big and your knowledge high. Top income
earners believe in personal development and are constantly
learning and improving themselves! I know this to be true,
because I totally believe learning is mental fitness. The
concept that success leaves clues is you can learn from
your mistakes or from someone else's mistake. Things that
have worked years ago may not necessarily work with today's
technology changing the way it does.

You may consider wanting to change the way you are building
your business? Network marketing is just like any other
business and is constantly evolving - you need to be also.
My mentor told me that what has real meaning, is the person
you have to BECOME in order to create the type of income
you deserve.

4. They let the tools do the selling.

The biggest problem most people have when starting their
business is thinking they need to know everything. From
personal experience this has kept me in the analysis of
paralysis category. Please don't let this happen to you!

This really is a business about sorting and sifting and
DUPLICATION. It is not a sales business. What is required
of you is to point people in the right direction and let
your marketing tools give them the information they need to
make an informed decision. You will get either a yes or a
no, and that is all there is to it.

The only time you will have a problem is when you try to
explain it all to them. Having the business presentation
recorded on CD or DVD will help build a big business. Top
income earners are rarely experts on their company's
compensation plans or even their products! They are more
like consultants, constantly guiding people to the right
information in the form of websites, customer support
lines, DVDs etc. whenever answering to questions.

5. They never quit!

This is the most obvious one out of all the others, because
once you quit it's all over! People don't fail, they just
quit. You will find that there is not one top income earner
in the industry who has not had a rocky start. People do
overestimate what they can accomplish in 90 days and yet
drastically underestimate what they can accomplish in 5
years time.

You may have known of where two people will come into the
industry, one earning a top income while the other is
blaming the company for their lack in success. Yet they are
in the same company with the same compensation plan dealing
with the same market!

This business does not have to be nearly as hard as most
people make it out to be. Give yourself a chance to succeed
by not giving up, and then success is yours. Learn from
people's mistakes and develop these traits so hopefully it
won't be such a big learning curve for you! However brief,
master these principles and believe in your success!

people who know a little bit more about choosing keywords
and these type of people usually will pick keywords such as

more than the others. Then we have the smart marketer that

Well I know I do, I know when I'm doing a search online, I
want my searches to be well related to what I type on my

positions in the organic search engine results, you will

If you are not accustomed to writing, you probably think
you would not be able to write worthwhile articles for
publication. If you are really unable to write your own
articles, you could employ a ghost writer to write articles
to order or you could invest in PLR (Private Label Rights)
articles. Having articles ghost-written to your order is
the better solution but can be expensive.

If your budget won't stretch to hiring a ghost-writer,
buying good PLR articles would be your only real option.
There are two points to note here:

1. They must be good PLR articles, the more expensive kind
which are sold on a limited edition basis. Don't waste

should be re-written to at least some extent (25% change to

believe almost anyone with normal literacy skills should be
capable of producing good articles with a little effort and
some practice.

Why do people assume they can't write articles? The main
reason is that writing articles is an alien activity for
most people once they have left school or university. Most
of us never have to write anything longer than a text
message or a greeting in a birthday card, and writing
articles is a skill we have to learn from scratch. This is
where younger people (particularly students) have the
advantage: they are quite used to essay writing for school
or college, so they can easily adapt to writing articles.

If you are up for the challenge of learning how to write
articles, there is no shortage of resources to help you:
just doing a simple search online will locate numerous
articles on the subject of writing in general and writing
