Whoops... I Made An Internet Marketing Mistake

Whoops... I Made An Internet Marketing Mistake
Hey, we all make mistakes right?

But that's no reason NOT to try to build an online
business. I say, get out there, make some mistakes. After
all, that is how we all learn.

I know there are some people out there who want to give
Internet marketing a try, but fear of making a mistake has
kept them from getting started. Don't let fear hold you
back.

Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't study up on unfamiliar
topics before you start. Do your homework. But at some
point, you are going to have to learn by doing. As a
matter of fact, it is impossible to learn everything you
need to learn unless you make a few mistakes at first.

You'll NEVER be able to foresee every problem that will
arise or predict every outcome. There are no 100% risk
free ventures, either on the Internet or in real life. But
one thing is for certain. If you don't try, you fail
before you even get started.

Here's the good news...

Unlike failures in the real world, a "failure" on the
Internet doesn't have to be all that costly. Starting an
Internet business can be done for a small fraction of the
cost of starting a physical business. So the risk is
considerably lower.

Plus, many of the products you can sell online are
information products with huge profit margins. Even if you
are affiliate marketing, the payouts can be great for very
little investment of your own. In my opinion, the ability
to make such a huge margin of profit makes starting an
online business a no-brainer.

Here are two tips to help you get started and curb your
fears...

First, don't think you have to reinvent the wheel here.
There are plenty of people ALREADY making a full time
income online. Study what they do. Determine if their
business model is right for you. Then base your business
model after them.

Just because McDonalds turned selling hamburgers into a
science, doesn't mean other restaurants can't sell
hamburgers, right?

Second, think about how you can inject your uniqueness.
What is it about you or your approach that sets you apart
from everyone else? Focus on that special aspect and build
your business around it.

Look, the skills to running a successful online business
have to be learned. Nobody was born an Internet Marketing
genius. Even the millionaires had to start somewhere.

And they made mistakes along the way, just like you will.

So, don't worry about it. Get out there and give it your
best. Make some mistakes. Overcome them. Then you'll
realize there was nothing to fear in the first place.

Ready, Set... Go!

Success Is Not About Your Skills

Success Is Not About Your Skills
Many employees never start a home business because they
think they can't or won't be successful. What if I told you
that you really do not have to have skills to be successful
in a home business? Would you tell me nonsense? Read on!

It would be my guess, and it's only a guess I have not
completed any formal survey on this subject, that at least
75% of employees are unhappy with their job. It can be for
many reasons, financial, they are not being paid what they
believe they are worth. Satisfaction, the job just does not
make them want to get up in the morning. Work life balance,
they spend more time at work than with family or
pleasurable activities. So what do you think, you think I'm
right?

So if people are that unhappy why do they continue down
this path? Fear; they are afraid of losing everything,
possessions, respect, confidence; what would my neighbors
think? Even if they feel in their heart there is something
better out there, what they most often do is look for
another job.

What they should be doing is taking control. Business is
not about how much you know it's about how much you feel.
Don't believe me, take this short quiz and see what you
think at the end.

1. Write down three of your top wins or accomplishments to
date. The win could be finishing high school or college,
landing the job in the field of your dreams, marrying the
love of your life, having children. This will be different
for everyone...

2. Now pick one of the top three events that exude the
strongest feelings within you. Then make a list of the
qualities and characteristics that led you to that
achievement. How where you thinking, what where you
feeling? A quality might me trust, passion, focus, honesty
or enthusiasm. Come up with as many of them as you can
think of.

3. Now...this is the fun part. Mark an (m) for mindset or
an (s) for skill related next to each quality or
characteristic it most applies to.

What did you see? Same thing I did I'll bet. Most are
mindset or emotional aspects.

Your success is in the way you think, what you believe in
and how you apply that you your daily activities. If you
think something is not going to work you can bet it won't.
Now I'm not going to say that you don't have to have some
knowledge of building a business for success. However, it
is not all you need to become a successful home business
owner.

So as you ponder the results of this little activity,
ponder your way to fulfilling your dreams. Start right now
developing a plan to your success and out of your dead end
job.

Why Reciprocal Links Should Be In Your SEO Strategy

Why Reciprocal Links Should Be In Your SEO Strategy
Reciprocal links may not be as powerful as one way inbound
links when it comes to ranking juice, but they still have a
big part to play in where your pages rank in the search
engines. And it's not as hard as you think to find
partners willing to trade links.

For anyone new to internet marketing, reciprocal linking is
an important component of search engine optimisation.

It's a technique whereby you put a link from your site to
another site, and in return they link back to your site.
Traditionally, that is why you see "links pages" on a lot
of web sites. It's the page where Webmasters place their
outbound links to the other sites, usually in return for a
link back.

Initially it can be a hard to find partners who are willing
to reciprocate links with your site. It's basically the
"chicken and egg" scenario.

For example, another site that has decent page rank will
usually not be interested in trading links with you,
because your new site will have zero page rank and
therefore not add any juice to their rankings!

So basically you need to have inbound links to attract
inbound links!

I therefore tend to concentrate on requesting links from
related sites that have a low Page Rank to start off with,
usually three or less, until I have at least a page rank of
3 myself.

I don't contact higher ranking web sites until my site gets
some PR of it's own.

So how exactly do you go about finding link exchange
partners?

The simplest way is to start with Google. Type in one of
your keyword phrases together with the words "add url" or
"add link". The results returned by Google will list sites
in your niche that are looking to swap links.

The returned pages will show you what you need to do to get
your link on their sites. Usually it's as easy as adding
your site details to the fields on the returned page, and
then copying and pasting their hyperlink code to your own
links page.

When you create your own links page in order to display
links from other sites, you really want it to be more than
just a links page.

I suggest you do the following: Add some relevant content
to the page as as well as just links to make the page more
attractive to the Search Engines. Don't call it Links
Page, call it "sites of interest" or something similar;
Ensure it links directly to your homepage; Split the site
links into sections with good Keyword headings and
description; Finally, get some inbound links to it!

Why effectively optimise your "links page"?

Well if you do, your "links" page will earn a decent Page
Rank, rank well and get traffic. If it does, you'll have
potential link partners lining up, begging to have a link
on your page! Not only that, if your links page gets a
decent page rank, you'll attract higher page rank link
partners to exchange with, boosting your rankings further!

Next, do what the sites returned in your Google results are
doing. Place an "Add URL" page on your website and make it
easy for other webmasters to exchange links with you!
Again, add lots of keyword rich text to the page to help it
in the rankings so that webmasters find it!

Ensure "Add Url" appears in the page title, page heading
and in the body of the page along you're your keywords.
Also, use "Add Url" as the anchor text for the links to the
page.

Finding reciprocal linking partners doesn't have to be hard
work, and it can be fruitful, particularly over the longer
term. As you find partners and they find you, your inbound
links will grow naturally over time.

No Cost To Low Cost Online Business and Marketing? Myth or Fact

No Cost To Low Cost Online Business and Marketing? Myth or Fact
There are many self-proclaimed "gurus" out there that claim
you do not need much money to start off your internet
career. This often leads new marketers into believing they
can make a fortune online with only a twenty dollar
investment.

Of course, there are the "rags to riches" stories to catch
your eye, but I have found that the average successful
online marketer started with a few thousand dollars to
"play" with. Comparatively speaking, this is a very low
amount to invest in your business, whether it's located
online or in a more tangible brick and mortar building.

The average cost to start a brick and mortar business like
a small espresso and coffee shop will cost in the upwards
of $15,000 for the equipment alone. If you find the right
online business you will spend anywhere from $800 to $2000.

Yes, you can make some money working 8 - 12 hours a day
with a coffee shop but imagine making huge amounts of money
24 hours a day on autopilot.

You have probably heard the old cliché it takes money to
make money. Well I have found in my experience that this
statement can be both true and false in online marketing.
Now you may be asking, "How can this statement be both true
and false?"

Let me show you:

The only ways to invest in your business with Money and
Time.

Here are a few ways to invest: Your Money - Here dollars
and cents is how you will build your business. Pay Per
Click - Buying keywords that people searching the internet
type in when they are looking for a solution to something.
You can expect to pay anywhere from a few cents to $2 - $3+
a keyword. Depending on how you set up your campaign you
can spend anywhere from $200.00 - $1000+/month. Banner
Ads - Placing banner ads on web sites that already achieve
high rankings in keyword categories that want to target.
If a website owner has a good amount of traffic they may
charge you anywhere from $150 to $500/mo to place an ad on
their site.

Print Ads - Purchase display ads in magazines and
newspapers that target readers in your market. Good sales
copy is a must. It is hard to say exactly how much this
will cost due to a number of variables. Variables such as
the size of ads, circulation, color and location to name a
few...

Classified Ads Under Your Chosen Business Category- Very
effective for targeting people who are actively looking for
solutions. You can buy classified advertising in bulk
through services like nationwide newspapers - or you can
buy individual papers on a city by city basis.

I recommend purchasing in weekly classifieds rather than
daily, you will get longer ad placement for your dollars.
Most classifieds charge by number of lines in your ad. A
decent range is $2.00 - $5.00/ line.

Buy Leads - Buy names, phone numbers, and email addresses
of people who want to find know about your product or
service. There are all sorts of leads to choose from
varying from 'real time' to aged leads.

Results depend on the quality of the lead and your ability
to sound like a real person. Depending on the service you
can pay anywhere from $100 for 1000 to $30 for 100 leads.

Direct Mail - Works well but can be expensive. You can
obtain leads and use direct mail as a follow up. Your
production and sales copy is critical. With companies like
Adswift you can print and mail postcards for as little as
.49/card. To get response from a customer it may take at
least 5 - 7 contacts by direct mail.

Billboards - If you have the money and want a person'
undivided attention as they drive to their jobs every
morning (and then return every afternoon) you might
consider a billboard. Typically, some markets can get you a
large billboard on a major artery for $1,000 for 30 days.
Rates depend on market size and traffic.

Radio Advertising - Buy radio spots and have them
professionally voiced. It is cheaper to buy times late at
night, but buying a 'day' package that gives you a bit of
every listening period can be good too.

Cable TV advertising On Listings Channel - Like the radio
spots, but this time with TV. You can expect to pay a
little more for the commercial you produce, but the cost
per spot is typically quite reasonable if you advertise in
something like the TV listings that scroll up and down the
page.

Your Time - Trading your dollar to invest for time

Press Releases - You can do unlimited press releases
online. Prior to the release of your product or service
you can submit a release to several sites getting the buzz
out. 2-3 hours

Blogs - Blogs are frequently updated 'web journals' that
are maintained by people who specialize in something. Blogs
talk about and openly discuss specialized themes like
making money online - or stay at home moms online. 1-2 hours

Article Marketing - In its simplest form, this is
advertising where you can write short, unique, relevant
articles related to whatever you want to talk about: making
money online, how to make money online, the 7 dangers of
marketing online, etc. 30mins - 1 hour.

Forums - On line forums are basically online discussion
groups or chat rooms or bulletin boards that have a
following with various people. Forums can be a great way to
brand yourself as an expert in a subject, or build
credibility with people who frequent a particular forum..
The key to success is making a great contribution and
building online relationships with the other people who are
part of the forum that you join. Takes some time - but can
be well worth it 1 - 2 hours

Video Marketing - Marketing yourself online with video.
Have you heard of YouTube? Enough said. 2 - 3 hours

Free Online Classifieds - There are a ton of free online
classified areas on the internet. Typically, you get what
you pay for. You have to post in a lot of them to get any
kind of result. 2-3 hours

Craig's List - Craig's list is a network of online urban
communities featuring free online classified advertisement
in a endless number of areas including jobs offers and biz
ops. There are classifieds from several hundred cities on
Craig's List worldwide. It has been said that they get
about 9 billion page views each month - and about 25
million Americans use it each month. You can target by area
or by city. 2 - 3 hours.

Squidoo - Squidoo is kind of like a wiki, only when you
create a page (called a lens) you are the only one who can
edit it.Then you split the profits from the money made by
that page . You can use it to create almost any kind of
page. 1 - 2 hours

Social Networking - Social networking is the grouping of
individuals into specific groups, like small rural
communities or a neighborhood subdivision. It is very
popular online because unlike most high schools, colleges,
or workplaces, the internet is filled with millions of
individuals who are looking to meet other internet users
and develop friendships and business relationships, too.
possibly even contacting them. Sites like Face Book and
MySpace fit into the social network category. 1 - 2 hours
So you can see that there is no such thing as a low or no
cost online business. You can either choose to invest
money or time.

Pick your poison. It is completely up to you which one you
decide.

5 easy steps to spot a work at home scam

5 easy steps to spot a work at home scam
One of the biggest problems with working form home is the
number of scams around. Spotting something that is not real
or out of the ordinary is easy in the traditional job
market, but in the virtual world it can be very difficult
to see the scam in the work at home environment. Weeding
out these scams is a job that everyone wishing to work from
home must be prepared to do.

Following are 5 easy steps that you can follow to help you
to spot a work at home scam. I will give you things to look
for when checking out these work at home opportunities. You
will need to go through each of the 5 steps to see if the
company passes or fails. To be a legitimate business it
needs to pass all 5 steps. By using these 5 steps you
should be able to avoid most scams without ending up losing
lots of money or wasting valuable time on an opportunity
that will not give you anything back.

Step 1:- The company gives no details. The company should
give you details of who they are, what the company does and
what the job is you are expected to do. This is not a
covert operation and full disclosure should be made. It is
more than likely a scam if they do not give this
information.

Step 2:- The company requires payment up front to work with
them. Although saying this, some cases of upfront payment
can be above board. It is quite easy to get caught up on
this. In a direct sales situation, paying for a sales kit
upfront is okay, however paying an application fee or
administrative fee is not okay. You should never pay just
to get information about the job. If you are not getting an
actual product (ebook etc.) or a sales kit then steer clear.

Step 3:- The company has no products or service. If you are
not told what you will be selling then you will be selling
nothing at all. Taking money without selling anything
(whether tangible items or information products) has no
place in the online world and is more than likely a scam.

Step 4:- the company is not known. It is rare for an online
work at home business not to be known about by anyone. If
nobody has heard about the business and after searching for
this business (online is a good avenue for this) no
information can be found, then it is likely a scam. People
will be buzzing about a real business. People will be
talking about it using blogs and social networking sites,
telling others about their experiences.

Step 5:- Follow your gut instinct. If a business deal does
not feel right then it probably is not right. Do not go
with a company or work at home scheme if it does not give
you a good feeling.

I have given you these 5 steps to help you weed out the
work at home scams. They can help you to stop falling for
these scams and will help save you a lot of time and money.
People become despondent and give up on the work at home
experience due to these scams, which is a shame because
they can really be a lot of fun, and there are a lot of
companies out there ready for people to make a good living.

Economic downturn boosts work at home opportunities.

Economic downturn boosts work at home opportunities.
Work at home opportunities or home based businesses will
soar over the next few years. This is not just because
people will have to work from home because they have been
laid off - had to retire - or feel uncertain about the
future. It is because this is the economic trend.

The economy is in excellent shape. Despite the general
gloom and reports of economic stagnation we are in the
middle of a millionaire population explosion! And most of
these new millionaires will be work from home entrepreneurs.

These ideas are not mine. They belong to world famous
economist, Paul Zane Pilzer, who has an astounding
reputation for accurately predicting economic trends. Here
are some of his latest predictions:

- The Internet has barely gotten started

- The decline of the big corporations

- The rise in home-based businesses

- The speed of technological change will change your job,
or see it disappear, within 2 or 3 years

- The vast majority of people retire broke

According to recent surveys, 85% of Americans wished that
they could work from home. A UK survey had similar results.
You are one of these or you probably wouldn't be reading
this. If you think that you are secure in your job, think
again. If you have recently been laid off, take heart. If
you have recenty retired or about to - and you're broke -
again, take heart.

More comments from Paul Pilzer:

- Our (US) economy is in the middle of its greatest growth
spurt in history

- (Today) working for yourself is actually the the safer
route, and working for a corporation has become the riskier
proposition

- ... the age of the corporation, which barely began a
century ago, now gives way to the age of the entrepreneur

- Our wealth is rewarded directly in proportion to the
number of people with whom we are willing to share

- The technology gap is where you will find the greatest
potential for growth This is where the ....Next
Millionaires will come from in the years ahead of us.

Remember this is coming from an expert who has never, ever
been wrong.

Now, I barely type with 2 fingers and can only just master
sending an email, but if ever I needed an incentive to do
something different with my life, this is it.

Read it again. What he appears to be telling us is to
spruce up our IT skills, get an online business and start
to work from home.

The 'oldies' are living for years past their retirement
date and 95% of us are broke. The 'laid off' will probably
never find a job like the one that they have just lost. And
secure employment is not guaranteed.

To work from home is the new career choice. It isn't just
about becoming a millionaire. It's about survival.

----------------------------------------------------
John Hutchinson describes himself as an 'oldie newbie' and
encourages the older generation (and others) to grasp the
internet marketing opportunities that are available and
work from home to secure their 'golden' years'.

Landing, Squeeze and Sissy Pages - Oh My!

Landing, Squeeze and Sissy Pages - Oh My!
A landing page is the first page a visitor arrives at on
your site after inputting a specific address or clicking a
link in an email or at another site. At one time, the home
page was the primary landing page for many online
marketers. But as marketing on the internet has developed,
landing pages designed specifically to have a visitor take
a specific action, have become more popular.

Seth Godin, well known marketing expert, states that a web
page can cause a visitor to take one of only five actions:

1. Click and go to a different page

2. Make a purchase

3. Give permission for follow-up

4. Tell a friend

5. Learn something that may prompt the visitor to provide
feedback

Squeeze page is the term frequently used to describe a
landing page designed to capture a name and email address.
On a traditional squeeze page, if you don't take the action
the web site owner wants you to take, you have no other
option than to close the page.

In the past, more technically oriented visitors could check
source code and figure out how to get around the squeeze
page and find the pages behind it. As a result, many web
site owners now encrypt the page so that there is no back
door to sneak through.

A squeeze page that allows the visitor to go to another
page without taking the action the web site owner wants
them to take is called a sissy page. I'm not sure how this
phrase came to represent this action. Merriam-Webster
defines "sissy" as a timid or cowardly person. So I guess
someone thinks you're afraid to not let a visitor find out
what you have to offer!

The intent of my landing page is to get my visitors to
request the special report. But if they decide they don't
want to, or they have already ordered the report, there is
a big red button near the bottom of the page that says
"Enter Site". Guess that makes me a big sissy!

More online marketers are using landing pages to narrowly
focus on their target audience and to prequalify their
prospects. Landing pages are ideal for product or service
launches because you only need to convey one message -
there are no other distractions like there can be on other
types of web pages.

From a marketer's standpoint landing pages are a good time
and budget investment. That's because since you know this
is the first page a visitor will see, you can confidently
spend your time, energy and money on developing the page
into one where the visitor will take the action you want.

This includes researching keywords, creating an attention
grabbing headline and including graphics that support what
you want your visitor to do.

Single page web sites will continue to be popular as long
as visitors continue to take the action their creators want.

How To Build Multiple Streams Of Income Cheaply

How To Build Multiple Streams Of Income Cheaply
We have all heard of "Don't put all your eggs in a basket"
at least once in our lives. We learn this lesson but do we
put it into practice? Each egg is can be a metaphor to one
income source. If you only have one income source, then
it's no different than a basket of eggs. One accident can
wipe out your whole income source. So building multiple
source of income in different areas is an important thing
for you to do.

Those who are in business or have been laid off before will
fully understand this old saying. If we rely solely on one
income stream, then if that income stream disappears, we
will lose all income. That is why in business or if you are
employed with only one salary source, it is vital to build
a couple more income streams. This will help grow your
financial networth, buffer you from significant income loss
if one source disappears, and accelerate your objective of
being financially free.

Those who are already enjoying an income source, can
consider starting another income stream through affiliate
marketing. For those who are unemployed or would like to
switch to a job that can grow multiple streams of income,
can also join affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is
one of the easiest business to build and duplicate.
There are many reputable affiliate marketing programs that
offer almost anything under the sky. You need to pick a
product that you have knowledge of, or something that you
are passionate about. Most people start with a product or
service which they enjoyed or are part of their hobby.

There is little cost to start an affiliate marketing
business. You just need a pc or a notebook, internet
connection, a website and a domain name. Joining affiliate
programs are usually free, so there is no high upfront
cost, unlike buying a franchise. Most affiliate merchants
will provide marketing tools to the affiliate, helping them
to start up as soon as possible. So the affiliate can use
the marketing tools to start marketing the product or
service immediately after joining the affiliate program.
The merchant also provides sales tracking, product delivery
and after sales product support. All the usual back office
and operational function is also being handled by the
merchant. You just need to sell the product or service and
start earning money.

In affiliate marketing, it is good practice to have several
source of merchant for your niche product or service
offering in your website. If you rely only on one merchant
to supply you the product or service, you may have a supply
crisis if the merchant close shop. So, find a good range of
merchants to supply you with similar product or services in
your affiliate business. Your customers will also
appreciate the variety of suppliers in your product or
service.

You should not go overboard and sign up for many different
products and service and market everything, hoping to get
at least one sale from one of them. Choose wisely and
select only those product or service that you have interest
in or are passionate about. Your readers can sense your
enthusiasm in your marketing. Those product or service that
interests you or are passionate about will tend to sell
better than those that you don't have an idea about.

Finally, build one niche business and make sure it is
stabilised and fully automated before you move on to
another niche business. Focus and work hard on one business
at a time. Move on to the next business only after you are
making comfortably from the first. By building several
businesses in various niches, you are building a natural
hedge against any downturn in any industry or any merchant
closing down.

After you have successfully built several sources of
income, your responsibility will change to become a
business manager. You don't really need to get into the
nitty-gritty detail of operations. You become a manger who
review and monitor your income portfolio and to make any
necessary adjustments to your portfolio of businesses.
These adjustments are for you to ensure that you stay in
business despite the new entrants of competitors, new
technologies or even new trends of doing business. Use this
blueprint to build your multiple streams of income cheaply.

What Is Affiliate Marketing? - A Newbies Easy Start Guide

What Is Affiliate Marketing? - A Newbies Easy Start Guide
The internet has revolutionised the method that we search
and gather information. With just a few clicks you get
access to millions of sources information and data on
virtually any topic. And where there is an abundance of
interest and activity, it doesn't take much to realise that
this phenomenon can bring about sky-high financial gains.
To gain a slice of this, the opportunity exists to ride on
the coat tails of someone else. It's called affiliate
marketing.

You might have come across these words over the net while
surfing. Affiliate marketing is a revenue sharing agreement
between a merchant and an affiliate who gets paid for
referring or promoting the merchants' products and
services. It is one of the burgeoning industries nowadays
because it is proven to be cost-efficient and a means of
earning large profits both for the merchant and the
affiliate and other players in the affiliate program, such
as the affiliate network.

Affiliate Marketing - The Merchant's View

The merchant gains opportunities in affiliate marketing by
being able to advertise their products to a larger market,
which increases their chances to earn. The more affiliate
websites or hard-working affiliates they have signed up,
the more sales they can expect. The benefits of getting
affiliates to market their products and services, are the
saving of time, effort and money in looking for possible
markets and customers. When a client clicks on the link in
the affiliate website, purchases the product, recommends it
to others who look for the same item or buys it again, the
merchant multiplies his chances of earning. It could be
described as "viral earning".

Affiliate Marketing - The Marketer's View

The affiliate marketer benefits from each customer who
clicks on the link in his website and who actually
purchases the product or avails of the service provided by
the merchant. In most cases, the affiliate gets commision
per sale, which can be fixed percentage or fixed amount.
Potential earnings without actually owning the product or
service. The affiliate marketer is in fact an agent of the
merchant.

Affiliate Marketing - How You Can Start

1 To start in affiliate marketing, identify a particular
niche that you are interested in or passionate about so you
will have a personal interest in it which will make things
easier for you. Focusing on a specific area you know very
well will motivate you without much risks and effort. By
following this path, you can add a personal touch to your
website and give your visitors who are possible buyers an
impression that you are an expert in your field. In this
way, you gain their trust and eventually encourage them to
buy the merchant's products that you endorse.

2 Once you have found a niche, look for good paying
affiliate merchants with products or services related to
your interest. In choosing the product or service, you must
also consider the likely conversion rate. This is the ratio
of customers to the website who turn into buyers. There are
various affiliate networks and affiliate solution providers
that can give you info on the most profitable products and
best paying merchants. The key here is, be wise enough to
choose the right one.

3 In order to sell the affiliate marketer's product or
service, you will require your own domain name and website.
Try and source a domain name that has keywords related to
the product or service. Some affiliate programs provide a
purpose built affiliate website but most of the time you
will have to build one yourself or integrate the affiliate
product or service within your existing website.

4 Now you need to undertake some promotion of your
affiliate product or service. This is a crucial task,
since it is through this that you would be able to increase
traffic to the business website, sales and of course,
profit. In affiliate marketing, it is possible to earn
large sums of money in a short span of time especially when
you're endorsing high-priced items. Expensive products are
hard to sell; however, with the right marketing strategies
and sales techniques, you can draw visitors to the
affiliate merchant's website and make them buy the
products. Never stop learning and testing on how to bring
traffic to your website.

Affiliate Marketing - Is It For You?

Affiliate marketing may seem very tempting due to numerous
encouraging testimonies of merchants and affiliate
marketers alike who have benefited from it, but it does
require a great deal of hard work and persistence.
Furthermore, you need to be creative, flexible and willing
to embrace new ideas to market your affiliate merchant's
products until you find the perfect strategy that works for
a specific market that you are targeting.

It certainly won't work for you if you sign up to the first
affiliate program that you find, make the product or
service available to buy on your website and hope that
potential customers will see it and automatically buy.

Neither signing up for an affiliate program nor copying ads
and leading others towards the merchants' site doesn't
guarantee success. Many affiliate marketers fail to
understand this, so when they don't make sales, they quit,
then look for other affiliate programs and repeat the same
mistake.

Undertaken correctly, by utilising affiliate marketing you
can work your way to great financial success if you employ
the right strategies.

Three Strategies All Affiliate Marketers Must Do To Succeed Online

Three Strategies All Affiliate Marketers Must Do To Succeed Online
All active affiliate marketers are searching for the
successful marketing tactics which will create the most
traffic to their website. Sometimes, online marketers will
fall for a magic formula or a quick fix approach. I wish
it was that easy. What really works are the tried and
proven legitimate forms of marketing. These marketing
styles will require a lot of dedication and hard work.

Below, are three strategies which you should incorporate
into your overall marketing plan. If you follow these, you
will consistently increase your sales and be a long term
successful affiliate marketer.

1. You should use a unique web page to promote every
product you are trying to sell. You don't want to lump all
of your products on one page, as this looks very cluttered
and it just confuses your visitors. It is much better to
have a separate page to outline each product in detail.

It is helpful to have product reviews on your web pages so
that potential buyers will have a better understanding of
the product. Also, include testimonials for the products.
Testimonials are a crucial element to include and visitors
really do read them. The best testimonials will include the
name, photo and website of the person who has given it.

In addition to having unique web pages for each product,
you should write a comprehensive article for each product,
which highlights the uses and benefits of each. All of
these articles can then be turned into separate web pages,
which can in turn, be linked to from the product page.
Every article should include a call to action (to buy the
product). Also, every headline should be structured to
entice the reader to move on. It is a great idea to include
your contact email address in each article.

2. Always offer free reports, newsletters and e-books to
your readers. These offers should be located near the top
of your page, on either sidebar, so they cannot be missed.
A free newsletter offer is great and this can be
constructed so that visitors can opt into it by filling in
their name and email address. The opt in box should be
linked to your auto responder so that they can start
receiving your newsletter. Research shows that a potential
client must see a version of your newsletter at least seven
times before they buy. In my experience, they need to see
it much more than seven times to be effective. If a visitor
lands on a simple web page, only two things can happen.
They will either buy something or they will leave and never
return (usually they leave). Now, if you have a free
newsletter that they can opt into, then you can hang onto
this potential client for a while. With the newsletter, you
can automatically send them useful information by email on
a scheduled basis. Within the body of each newsletter, you
can insert little reminders about the product. Just don't
make it sound too much like a sales letter pitch. It is
better to use a softer approach.

When you mention the product in the newsletter, you'll want
to stress how the product will improve the buyer's life.
Compelling lines should be incorporated into the email. Try
to avoid using the word "free" in the body of the email, as
this will trigger many spam filters. Convince the potential
buyer that they will miss out on something big if they
don't buy your product or service.

3. The final strategy is to seek out traffic that is
targeted to your product. If a visitor is channeled to your
site who was not interested in your product to begin with,
then he will exit your site very quickly.

One of the better ways to acquire targeted traffic is to
write and submit quality articles. Each article has a
resource box at the bottom where you can place a small bio
about yourself and a link to your website. You don't want
to advertise within the body of the article itself. This
will just turn away your reader. The article can be
submitted manually to sites on the internet that accept
these types of submissions. If you want to save a lot of
time, you can pay an article submission service to
distribute the articles for you. Your articles should be
between 400 - 1500 words and, ideally, they should be about
700 - 800 words. If you don't like writing articles, you
can have then ghost written for a small fee per article.

In summary, the above strategies should be at the
cornerstone of any comprehensive marketing strategy for
your affiliate program. With time, you will see your
website visits continually climb. Since these visits will
be targeted traffic, it is virtually impossible for you to
fail. You just need to stay persistent, and stick to your
plan. I wish you the best of success in your affiliate
marketing endeavors.

How Online Marketing Could Work For You

How Online Marketing Could Work For You
Like most of us, you're probably fed up with dealing with
your boss and the usual nine-to-five grind. After months
of careful research, you've decided to "take the plunge"
and start your own business. You've set up a great
business plan and your friends and family say they are
behind you one hundred percent. Now it's time to advertise
so that everyone else will know what a wonderful business
you own. But where do you start?

Do you buy print advertising in your local newspaper?

Buy some air time on your local television or radio station?

Arrange to have a full page ad in the local yellow pages of
your phone book?

Do you hand out flyers to everyone you meet?

Those methods work, but only insofar as reaching your
immediate area and your ability to immediately track the
results of anyone campaign.

You have big plans for growing your business in the future,
but everyone keeps telling you to be careful and keep it
local until you establish yourself. Besides, you're going
to need to use any initial profits you make to pay for all
that fancy advertising you've set up.

Unless your friends and family have their own booming
business, why are you even listening to them? If you're
reading this, then your aware of at least part of the power
of the internet, so why not utilize this formidable
promotional tool?

Power of Online Marketing At A Glance

Online advertising is plug and play: Any type of print
advertising has to be set up and scheduled; flyers and
newspapers may take several days and an ad in your local
phone book may not come out until many months down the road.

Online advertising gives you control: You've decided to
offer your customers a special discount: you can
immediately add a coupon and adjust what you need to right
on your website rather than having to wait for someone at
the print shop or newspaper to get around to it.

Online advertising is not just cost effective...it is
cheaper: you get more "bang for your buck" online. Rather
than having to pay higher prices for print work and
distribution costs, you can use the money you save on
advertising to add to your merchandise. If you are looking
to go "Green" (An added bonus is that you'll also help
environmentally because you're using little, if any,
natural resources to promote your business! )

Online advertising can be interactive: Instead of just
seeing a flat, two dimensional image, you can catch your
customer's eye with all sorts of "bells and whistles"!
Audio and visual enhancements invite your customers to
involve themselves to a much greater extent than just
looking at a newspaper ad or flyer. There is an added
benefit to advertising online and that is you can also
include additional information as part of your customer
testimonials and Frequently Asked Questions ( or FAQs ).

Online advertising can be easily tracked: If you do any
sort of print advertising, the only tangible means of
tracking how effective your campaign is, or at least part
of it, is to use coupons that the customers have to redeem.

Even then, it's difficult to know exactly who is responding
to any of your advertising. Online advertising can easily
be measured and broken down into very specific results.

Aside from tracking individual sales, there are ways of
tracking which web pages have been seen. This is a great
tool to use to help you refine your advertising and be much
more responsive to your customers.

Online advertising receives feedback: You can immediately
change your sales process, product and promotion by asking
your customers for feedback right on your site. If you
know exactly what your customers want, your sales will go
through the roof.

Online advertising works: If it didn't, it wouldn't be
enticing national advertisers to continue to increase their
online advertising budgets by twenty-five percent each year!

You have seen all the benefits of online marketing and how
it can establish or improve you current business.

So what are you waiting for? Get your marketing started!
What have you got to lose?

The 3 Keys Needed For a Successful Online Income Opportunity

The 3 Keys Needed For a Successful Online Income Opportunity
Even though affiliate marketing, one of the best onlie
income opportunities, is said to be one the easiest and
most effective ways to earn money online, it is not as easy
as it sounds. The smart affiliate marketer will plan every
move and execute it the best way he can. He also maximizes
the potential to earn residual income by utilizing the
right tools necessary for a successful online affiliate
marketing opportunity.

Here are the top three necessary tools for a successful
affiliate marketing business that the most successful
marketers utilize.

1. Your Own Website

The most important tool in is your own website. The first
step in any successful affiliate marketing online income
opportunity is building a good, credible and professional
looking website. Your website is the start point of all
your marketing efforts. So, you must first build an
original website, which will appeal to your prospects and
encourage them to click on the links to the products and
service you are promoting and make a purchase. Therefore,
you must first focus your efforts in building a website
that will cater to what your customers want.

The thing you should think about is that almost all web
surfers go online looking for information, not necessarily
buying anything. Make your website full of original,
relevant and useful content. People will love articles that
are appealing and helpful. Keep in mind that, on the
internet, content is still king.

Also, good quality content will not only build your
credibility, it can also help you achieve a higher search
engine ranking. By posting relevant and useful articles,
you establish yourself as a credible expert in the field,
making you a more trustworthy endorser of the product or
service that you promote. Establishing a good reputation is
a critical step in building up a loyal consumer base.

2. Incentives

Competition is extremely intense on the internet. You
should always be one-step ahead of your competition to
ensure that you grab a significant share of your target
market within your income opportunity. Therefore, you must
use every possible tactic to encourage people not only to
visit your site but also to click and proceed to the
websites of the products and services you are promoting.

Building an opt-in email list is one of the best ways to
gather prospects. Offer a newsletter or an e-zine. Better
yet, offer incentives to your prospects to encourage them
to subscribe to your newsletters.

3. Link Popularity

Directing highly targeted traffic to your website cannot be
emphasized enough. Attracting people to your online income
opportunity should be the first step that you should
concentrate on. Do everything to achieve a high search
engine ranking. Link Popularity is one of the factors that
search engines use to determine search engine rankings. So,
to raise your link popularity, you must launch an
aggressive reciprocal link campaign.

One of the best ways to do this and does not cost anything,
is to submit articles with your website's link at the
resource box, to e-zines and free article sites. You gain
exposure and will also have the opportunity to advertise
for free, just include a link back to your site. The more
sites you submit your articles to, the better your link
popularity is. Make sure your articles original, relevant
and useful so that more websites will pick it up and post
it.

These are but three of the many tools that an affiliate
marketer can use to gain earning potential in an online
income opportunity. The possibilities are endless and are
limited only by your imagination, creativity,
resourcefulness and determination. You can always
investigate other ideas and use other strategies, which you
think might help you gain maximum a residual income!
