If you already have your business plan and website in
motion, there's always room in your pocket for extra cash
to go in it. One way to do this is the use of affiliate
links on your website. Successful affiliates of several
different businesses always promote companies that could be
online stores or other businesses with a large product base
that could be of use to visitors on your website. Usually,
there was a distinction amongst affiliate marketers because
they always had a good number of pop up windows and banner
ads everywhere. Today, these techniques that are used by
affiliates have been duplicated and fine tuned to the point
that you never know if your'e getting an offer from one or
not. So here are some easy to do steps in entering the
realm of affiliate marketing.

* If you can understand the concept of affiliate marketing,
you'll find that it's like any other business concept which
is market and promote to get profits. Once you get familiar
with concepts and market base, you'll have a good chance of
figuring out what is good and what's not. Learn the lingo
so you can know whether or not your'e doing pay per click
or pay per sale. Doing one over the other makes a big
difference in revenue.

* Design your website to be user friendly and easy to
navigate thru. You can use your blog or forum where people
list their opinions, an online media source, even do
something a little crazy like promote a website for Paris
Hilton. Actually, that doesn't sound so crazy, but you get
my drift. Whatever you go with make sure it's catchy and
effective to the point to where it draws your visitors to
keep visiting and make sure you implement the steps of
search engine optimization for exposure.

* Find an affiliate business that you actually wish to
affiliate yourself with. Just pick businesses with products
and services that appeal to the visitors of your website
and the revenue that comes from that can be tremendous. You
could decide to affiliate with a piano manufacturer who
will pay $50 per sale, but requires you to have a $500
balance with them before they pay you anthing. How
realistic is it to make 5 sales within a month or two. If
it doesn't seem feasible to you, then don't invest your
time or money.

* Promote your business and the affiliate thru articles,
emails, and newsletters.

* Always keep track of your success. Even though the
company you affiliate with will provide its own stats, you
still should make reports of progress or failure so you can
use that for effective marketing only using what works.
This way you don't spin your wheels or waist any money
doing the same thing that doesn't work and you can even
create new trends for marketing.

* Don't be afraid to drop a business if it isn't doing the
job for you. If your'e not getting a return on your
investment for one program, then ditch it for one that
holds more potential for success.

Of course, there are all types of ways to make money online
these days. Being an affiliate marketer is one of the
cutting edge ideas that's making a lot of people a lot of
money.
