How To Set Home Business Goals

How To Set Home Business Goals
Making money at home on the Internet is an exciting thing.
The fact that you can earn money without leaving your front
door is something many people dream about. Unfortunately
for them it is nothing more than a dream because they never
take action.

In this article we want talk about taking action by setting
home business goals that will help you become more
successful in your own Internet business.

1. I think the first thing a person should do is set and
meaningful goals. Famous personal development trainer Jack
Zufelt talks about understand your why for doing something.
He says that goal setting is meaningless until you really
understand what drives you.

So for this reason we want you to set meaningful goals. We
are not talking about action items, but rather a couple of
really big goals such as quitting your job and working at
home full-time, sponsoring a missionary in Africa, or
putting your kids through college.

2. Next we want to talk about immediate action item goals.
Action item goals are things that you write down on a list
and then scratch them off as you complete them. If you blog
as a way to make money in your home business an action item
might be to write a 200 word blog post four times a week.

Another action item might be to post comments in 10 other
blogs related to the niche of your website or blog. Still
one more might be to write and submit one quality article
every week to the top 10 article directories.

The nice thing about setting action item goals is you can
actually achieve them, which gets you in the habit of being
successful. This is much better than setting a goal of
earning $5,000 a month and being frustrated every month,
when you fall short.

3. Set three different types of goals. We are talking about
immediate goals, mid range goals, and long-term goals. An
immediate goal is something you want to accomplish right
now or maybe this week. Mid range goal could be a monthly
goal or even a goal one year from now. Long-term goals
could be one year or could be several years down the road.

Home business goals can be achieved when you work at
hitting them, and then readjust and set new ones after you
have done that. You will be surprised at how much more you
successful your home businesses is when you become
successful at goal setting.
