The lead company I founded became the largest lead
generation and system company that services the network
marketing industry. Four years after starting the company,
I sold it for a rather large buy out to pursue new
ventures. I look back to when I first set out to build a
new lead generation company.
If you saw us then, you might not have guessed I was on to
something big. I had a very basic template web site and had
just come off unemployment, after being a dot-com casualty
in late 2000. At the time, there was only one company doing
over $25 million dollars a year. Although competition was
tuff and the market place was crowded with lead companies
promising to deliver the world of easy recruiting to
network marketers, it seemed we were able to grow well
beyond our wildest dreams.
Lately, I've been spending a great deal of time researching
the current state of the industry. I'm surprised to see so
many lead companies with the same tired old pitch, "we have
the best leads", blah, blah, blah. The reality is, the best
leads are the leads you personally generate. I tip my hat
to promoters of the "do it yourself" lead generation
systems, there are a few decent ones in the marketplace. I
believe, as a whole, it's the overall direction the lead
industry is going. So what does this mean for you? Maybe,
you should look at it as a window of opportunity. I guess
it could also mean it's daunting to be a lead company right
now. It's time to learn lead generation for yourself.
So many people I've met have held back from taking the
power into their own hands and learning the simple process
of lead generation. Somehow the industry has created a myth
that lead generation is hard, and I'm hear to tell you it's
not. In fact, it's never been easier. In the past few
years, so much has changed. Everyone has access now. You
can leverage free advertising in ways that flood you with
leads. You can take small successes and build larger
businesses, because you now have the control. The lead
companies no longer have control of the process; it's
within your reach. I'm not just talking about network
marketers. I'm talking about every single business owner on
the planet. All businesses need leads and customers. Leads
are the lifeblood of every business. We have a very simple
path to generate more leads and customers. The trend has
started and there is no stopping it.
For many years I've been in the business of selling to
those who sell. Some call it the "picks & shovels
business". Personally, I think it's one of the best
businesses you could ever build. If you are able to show a
business owner or sales person how to get more sales --look
out! Build it and they will come. I want to encourage you
to consider the concept of being taught how to generate
leads for any type of business.
When you possess the power to empower another company with
new leads and customers, you have something that is
considered golden. People will go out of their way to do
business with you. I wish that some day you could
experience the feeling of being in a crowded room of
business people when you start talking about how you
generate leads and how easy it is for you to generate
leads. You will be swarmed with people asking you
questions, as they will want leads on tap. Let me tell you,
it's a great feeling. You better have tons of business
cards, and be ready to put your action where your mouth is.
Business owners want more leads, they don't want to buy
them, and they want to start generating them right now.
The path to more business is more leads and more customers.
