Starting Your Own Home Business on a $100 Dollar Budget

Starting Your Own Home Business on a $100 Dollar Budget
There are many people who think they can't start a home
based business because they don't have a lot of money to
invest in the start up. However depending on the type of
business you want to start depends on the amount of money
you need as an initial investment.

As an example if you want to start a full fledged catering
business out of your home that will take a great deal of
investment. But if you want to start small with say cakes
or cookies then that can cost you less than $100 to get
started.

In this article I will discuss how you can get started
owning your own home business for much less than you ever
thought and set yourself up to move away from your current
9 to 5 job.

So let's say your catering business is baking cakes and you
want to sell them to people for special occasions like
weddings, anniversary parties, or to corporations for
retirement parties or some other special company affair.
You really can start this business for less than $100.

How? Start by offering small samples to friends, neighbors,
and relatives and let them know that if they like what they
taste that you are staring your own home business and would
appreciate any reference. Go to local organization and
offer to provide them a discount or something free for
their business. Make sure you give them a business card:
you can have these printed for about $25 for 500 cards.

Start small; don't spend a lot of cash until you know there
is a need for your services. Keep track of all your
expenses; these are all tax deductable when you begin the
business. This is also key information when you start to
expand the business.

Next create a website or blog. I like using Wordpress
because it's easy for everyone including the beginner to
create and update. You can display pictures of your work
here, post testimonials, and offer discounts or freebie's.
Again Wordpress is free software and can be setup and
hosted for less than $10.00 a month. Make sure that once
this is setup you put it on your business cards.

Third know you can start advertising. You don't need to
spend any money on this venture to begin with. You can
write articles about cakes, weddings, anything and post
them to article directories for free. You can post
classifieds ads for free all over the internet just search
on free classifieds. And you can create flyers and leave in
grocery stores, bridal shops, beauty salons the list is
endless. Flyers should cost you less than $25 if you do
them yourself.

This is just one example of how you can start your own home
business on a small budget. If you gave some thought to
what you really like doing you to could think of how to
start small and grow.

The key to any business is desire and belief in you. Those
two ingredients are a winning combination in any cookbook.
