Social Networks and Internet Marketing

Social Networks and Internet Marketing
So here you are with all your confidence in Internet
marketing. You are going to make a go at the big world of
endless cyber space possibilities. Perhaps you already have
your own little store? I will tell you that it is not as
easy as people make it out to be.

You make your way out into the social networking
communities but what are they and what are you suppose to
do? You join, with the expectation that everyone will just
come around and flock to your profile, then gladly join
your opportunity. Not!, and I will tell you why and show
you what to do about it. I mean you had the new store and
people were just thrilled to come in when you first opened,
but did they stay? I sincerely doubt it, because there are
things that you need to do to keep them coming.

I want to break down the techniques in which you use to not
only draw potential buyers or partners to your social
networking profile, but also keep them coming back and
interested in your business opportunity or products.

First and foremost, do not use a cut-throat tactic to
seduce customers on-line. They will definitely pick up on
your cunning tactics in Internet marketing, but it will not
work and ultimately be the demise of your business.

Let's get down to it. You find the perfect social network
and are ready to market yourself. That is exactly it,
market yourself! Setting up your profile is extremely
important and efficient in social marketing. It is the very
first step after opening a new account. Make sure that you
upload a picture or a company logo in your avatar, because
it is important to expose your presence. I highly recommend
that you use a picture of yourself, but it is up to you.

Then you are going to want to make more friends in your
quest to master Internet marketing. Now you wouldn't walk
up to someone and throw them a business card, would you? I
didn't think so. That is the same as going from profile to
profile with spam. Spam is defined as any text that is
unwanted and more so that of an advertisement of an
opportunity that is consecutively distributed to numerous
people. You are going to want to get known by marketing
yourself! Yes, yourself! Not your opportunity. That is the
secret!

I recommend going through the site and get familiar with
other members. Say hello and introduce yourself. If they
are remotely interested in you (and most likely they
wouldn't be if you didn't upload a picture earlier) they
will visit your profile. When they arrive at your profile,
they will see that you have everything about you and your
business opportunity. That is like introducing yourself and
handing them a business card per say.

Once you make new friends, open a group about your
business. Offer to send samples. When you comment on the
pages, do not, I repeat, do not advertise your business. In
some social networking sites, you may even get banned for
spamming. Don't think that they can't see your private
messages either because they can, in the back office. Plain
and simple, Internet marketing guru's market them self, not
their business.

Now you have made some new friends and you are really
mingling in the site. A lot of the sites are free, some
call for a monthly fee. Then there are some where you can
earn revenue through participation and/or ad generated
revenue, all the while you are marketing yourself.

There are places where you can even give presentations.
This is a major plus for the business, because you have
already made a name for yourself by marketing your presence
within the community. If your main focus is to market
yourself first people will gain confidence in you. Then
they are more apt to join your opportunity or buy from your
store. The reason being is that they have gained trust in
you.

Trust is hard earned in Internet marketing. Social
networking can be a great way to market your business and
then again, it can be the opposite. Doing it right, I will
assure you, can be a great way to earn money in the comfort
of your own home. They estimate that one in every two homes
will earn their sole income from home, by the year 2010.
There is no better time to learn to become a successful
Internet marketer, then now. Internet marketing through
social networking is taking the world by storm.
