Guarantee Network Marketing Success With These Ingredients

Financial success in the network marketing industry is not
a secret. It is a systematic science. There are specific
ingredients required of you to be able to have the
phenomenal financial success you have always dreamed.

There are two crucial ingredients in order to have
phenomenal success in the direct sales marketing industry.

Most people who try their hand at network marketing fail
because they lack the knowledge of two crucial and
necessary ingredients to guarantee unbelievable success.

Two Crucial Ingredients That Guarantee Network Marketing
Success:

1. Communication

2. Leads

Effective communication and leads will guarantee your
success.

If you do not know how to generate an endless supply of
people interested in what you are selling you will fail
every single time. And if you do not know how to
effectively communicate what problem your product solves
you will fail every single time.

First let me talk about how to effectively communicate.
Good communication really is not as difficult as a lot of
so-called gurus make it seem to be. That is because a lot
of people who call themselves experts use all types of
psychological tricks and gimmicks to make a consumer buy.
But tricks and gimmicks only create a buyer, not a business
partner.

All you really need to effectively communicate is honesty.
If you look around at the truly successful people in sales
you will see they are all very honest people.

I have personally lost sales from telling people the truth.
But as many sales as I have lost by being honest with
someone, I have gained far more awesome business partners
because I simply gained their trust with my honesty.

If you truly want to become wealthy, be honest with people
when you are communicating. If you lose some sales because
you are truthful that is not your problem.

Another reason why people have a hard time communicating
their product is because the product is lacking somewhere.
Either the product really is not that great or it is great
but you are targeting the wrong market. So be sure that
when you start a direct sales business that the product is
something a lot of people really need.

Second, I will talk about the ability to generate an
endless supply of leads. There are three ways you can
generate endless leads. Buy leads, create leads, or talking
to people you already know.

Well, unless you are already rich, buying leads is out of
the question. And after you talk to all the people you
know, you will eventually run out of people to talk to. So
your best option is to gain an education of how to create
an endless supply of your own leads.

In order to do this you need to gain an education in
marketing by leveraging various lead generation resources.
The biggest lead generation resource today is the Internet.
Once you understand how to leverage the automated power of
the Internet, there is nothing that will be able to stop
you from getting all the leads you want.

The catch is that it does take time and practice to perfect
the skill of marketing on the Internet to generate all the
leads you want. But once you have your leads, all you need
to do is be honest with your prospects and a certain number
will always join your business if you are able to solve
their problems.

Well, I did say that there are two crucial ingredients
needed to be successful but in all actuality there are
actually three.

The third crucial ingredient needed is the ability to never
quit, never give up. You need to think like a champion,
work like a champion, act like a champion.

No matter how honest you are in your communication, no
matter how great your ability to create your own leads,
there will still be periods of failure along your quest to
achieve financial freedom. So never quit and you will be
victorious. You will achieve greatness and nothing in the
world can take your greatness away from you.

The Importance Of Choosing Reputable Affiliate Programs

Are you representing reputable affiliate programs? Your
business and your livelihood depends on it if you do
affiliate marketing for a living. You only have to get
stiffed one time to really understand how important it is.

In this article we are going to talk about what happened to
me and how I now understand why representing reputable
affiliate programs is so very important.

When I first set out to make money online in the fall of
2002 everything was foreign to me. I certainly did not have
a website of my own and even sending email was a chore. It
didn't bother me because most of my friends were not any
better than me and I was willing to work and learn as I
went.

What I quickly learned to like was the concept of affiliate
marketing. Because I did not have any products of my own I
liked the idea I could get paid to sell products for
companies and get paid for it.

I was an outside sales rep that had built up one of the
largest territories in the country selling over $3 Million
a year in products. I had a solid customer base that
ordered from me on a regular basis. it was pretty close to
residual income, so I decided to look for affiliate
programs that could create residual income.

Finding things to sell that people buy and then pay for
every month was a little harder than just selling products
like eBooks, leads. or clicks. Selling hosting was a good
affiliate program because people who build a website and
host it for any period of time usually will not drop it. So
the commissions come every month just for making one sale.
I liked that.

Flash forward to the fall of 2007. I am a full time
internet marketer now. I have a website that ranks very
high on Google bringing me great traffic. I am an affiliate
for Google Adsense which brings me easy income when people
click on ads on my site.

I am an affiliate for Max Bounty and earn commissions when
people fill out short lead forms online. I have joined
several affiliate programs that earn me residual income
like the Plugin Profit Site, My Power Mall, SFI,
Host4profit and others.

In 5 years now I get paid every month on time because these
companies are reputable. Think about that for a moment. Why
is it important?

1. You work hard to make sales so you deserve to get paid
for your efforts.

2. You never deal face to face with the companies you
represent so you have to trust that they will pay you.

3. Your customers trust you to deliver what you say you
will and you rely on the affiliate company to back you up
with that.

The internet is full of scam artists and companies that are
not reputable. I have a pretty simple formula for how I
deal with that. Burn me once, shame on you. Burn me twice
shame on me.

In five years the only company to screw me out of my
commissions was an article marketing company. They offered
a article submissions service, which I sold because I used
it and I liked it. That is another criteria I use on my
main affiliate programs I represent. I like to be a
customer as well as an affiliate which allows me to
pre-sell from a perspective of first hand experience.

This article marketing company was not a reputable
affiliate program for several reasons.

1. They did pay on time or at all.

2. They ignored emails from their affiliates leaving you
hanging high and dry.

3. They continued to let you make sales for them and then
they keep all of the money knowing they will not pay you.

Number 3 is probably the worst. You work hard to make
sales, you put their banners on your website, blog, inner
pages, ezine ads etc. so it is very hard to go and find all
of those and replace them. It's great for them because you
just keep making them money!

Thankfully there are way more reputable affiliate programs
than there are bad ones. In my case being stiffed out of
almost $1000 dollars in commissions hurt, but it is not the
end of the world.

It just reinforces the importance of trying to know more
about who you represent. Do you due dilligence if it is
going to be a major part of your business. Your reputation
and income depend on it!

How Any Blogger Can Beat Wikipedia

How do you beat Wikipedia, the world's number one free
online encyclopedia, managed by thousands of passionate
(and unpaid) editors, and a darling of Google?

In case you didn't realize, Wikipedia already ranks top 10
for almost all popular search engine queries and keywords.
Wikipedia's main page has a PR (PageRank) of 8 and the
English home page has a PR of 9.

Almost every topic and keyword imaginable has been covered
(or will soon be covered) by this digital encyclopedia of
sorts. The fact is they have more in-depth and complete
content compared to your website or blog, and the people
writing this content don't ask for payment. Tying to match
Wikipedia in terms of content integrity and completeness is
suicide.

So how do you beat a giant like this?

The answer is to NOT become another Wikipedia yourself.

Look at it this way - how many people actually read an
encyclopedia?

Are you telling me that just because encyclopedias exist,
no one sells a book? Not in the real world. In the real
world people put encyclopedias in a dusty bookshelf and use
them only a handful of times in a year. But they read
magazines, they buy books, they attend events and they most
certainly read blogs.

The only time you should be looking at an encyclopedia is
when you need a point of reference when writing a serious
publication or thesis. Encyclopedias are boring, and so is
Wikipedia.

So here's Gobala Krishnan's 5-step process to beating
Wikipedia:

1) Improve your writing style

You must improve your writing. If your writing is similar
to the boring (although concise) Wikipedia text, you're
doomed. Inject your personality and develop your own style
of writing. My style of writing is very plain, direct and
personal. Some people choose to write in a more poetic /
scholarly way. Some people inject humor or use harsh words.
Whatever it is, improve your writing because it will set
you apart and create a loyal readership base.

2) Become more opinionated

People sitting on the fence sooner or later fall over. You
either like something or hate it. If you're neutral, you're
Wikipedia. Don't become the best encyclopedia around;
become the most dramatic blogger or writer.

Express your feelings for a certain product or service
you've tried, even if it means you may lose some affiliate
commissions from your honesty. It's ok if some people hate
the way you completely flamed a product or service. In the
long run people will still prefer to read what you have to
say then read a neutral page on Wikipedia.

3) Stay current and relevant

Read up on your industry, and put yourself in a position
where you understand not only the past, but also the
present and future of certain topics in your market.
Wikipedia can't beat you if you can (based on your
established position of an expert in a focused market)
foretell the future and influence others to accept your
views.

As valuable as history is, people care mostly about today
and tomorrow. If you are ahead of the market, or at least
up-to-date with the latest developments, write about it and
let people know.

4) Perfect your personal brand

Make everything you write, everything you sell, your sites
and your design smell, taste and feel like YOU. If it's
consistent enough, the moment someone looks at a site they
would know it's yours before they even read a line of text.
Don't brand yourself as a know-it-all; brand yourself as an
expert in one specific field and people will love you for
it.

Wikipedia goes a mile wide and an inch deep. You need to go
an inch deep and a mile wide.

You are a brand. Market that brand, and your online
business will take a turn for the better. Common marketing
wisdom has already proven the power of unique branding.

5) Don't put all your eggs in SEO

Search engine optimization is great and all, but it only
takes another 9 more Wikipedia type of sites to completely
dominate the first page of Google. There's absolutely no
way you're going to beat sites like that in terms of pure
SEO.

Focus more on social networking, making friends, finding
new business partners, and creating more non-SEO-dependent
sites. There are other ways to get traffic to your blogs
than just search engines, so get creative. If you're stuck
with the idea of "Write great content and the traffic will
come", you're in for a big surprise.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that you cannot beat
Wikipedia (or any other big content site for that matter)
at it's own game. But if you change your game, as far as
your online business is concerned, you'll always win.

You Must Beware Of The Scam Artist

What is a scam artist? I thought long and hard before
writing this article as not to offend anyone. Nobody would
ever be complimented by being called a scam artist. A scam
artist is one who takes your money for product or service
and never delivers anything to you. They run off with your
money to never be heard of or found again. I have found
very few people in the world who are scam artists like that.

It has been my experience that there are similar traits in
a lot people on the internet and I'll let you be the judge
weather or not you call these people scam artists. I
usually find that program jumpers have similar traits and
characteristics to the scam artists or maybe more
resembling a swarm of Locusts. These people are usually
people who jump ship to every new program out there on the
internet. If a new program comes out, they jump in it, take
all you suckers out there with them until they have sucked
you dry and then move on to the next program.

Here is an article I found at
http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_761574486/Locust_(insect
).html Let's see if this resembles any of the so called
"Internet Guru's". Locust (insect), common name applied to
a number of jumping insects and especially to the true
locusts, which are migratory grasshoppers (see
Grasshopper). The true locusts cause great damage to crops
wherever they swarm. Control measures include the spreading
of poison bait and the plowing under of locust eggs.
Infestations threatening large regions of the United States
are combated with insecticides sprayed by planes and
truck-mounted mist blowers provided by joint federal-state
programs.

Aside from the true locusts, the periodical cicada (see
Cicada) is another important insect to which the name
locust is applied. Grouse, or pygmy, locusts are small,
jumping insects that are of little economic importance.
Most species are dark brown and are less than 2.5 cm (less
than 1 in) in length.

Now, does this sound familiar out there on the internet? I
would love to warn you about these people by name, but
would never do that. I will however, give you things to
watch out for and let you be the judge.

If a person has joined 3 or more programs in one year, they
are probably program jumpers, which as we see above, have
similar traits to the locusts and do more harm than good.
These people are simply out to take your money. No wonder
they are making so much money. They have perfected the
locust style of business.

How to Profit Big with Joint Ventures

In this article I'm going to show you many different ways
that you can find joint venture partners, as well as some
very specific strategies you can use to get your niche
markets top marketers to promote your products and web site.

A joint venture is where you contact a marketer in your
niche market that has an email list of subscribers who may
have an interest in your product. They can be the lifeblood
of your business. Just five decent joint venture partners
who promote your ebook to their email list in exchange for
a commission can put your current income through into
overdrive. Read this newsletter and go out and take action.
I assure you your results will be life changing.

Know Your Conversion Rate

The first mistake newbie's make is they start contacting JV
partners left right and centre before they've even made a
sale of their ebook themselves. This is wrong. Very wrong.
You need to be able to contact a potential JV partner and
be able to tell them how your sites converting. How can you
expect someone to sign up as a JV partner if they can not
see your past success.

Site conversion is simple. It's the amount of visitors to
the amount of visitors who buy. So for example if one
hundred people visited your site and two bought your
conversion is two percent. You want to get at least one
thousand visitors before you know your conversion.

To work out how your sites converting download the software
from www.statcounter.com. Don't worry it won't cost you a
penny. It will up date visits to you site and calculate
your conversion for you.

Offer Large Commissions

Once you know how well your sites converting (if no one's
buying don't even bother contacting marketers. Improve your
sales letter, change your headline, whatever it takes) you
can start contacting JV partners. Offer them more than your
regular affiliates. If you offer your affiliates fifty
percent commission, offer your JV partners seventy five
percent.

You may be thinking "wait a sec those commissions are huge?
I won't make any money myself". This is where so many go
wrong. If people are sending you tons of visitors you can
build your email list and offer them other products in
email promotions, and you can also make money selling back
end products. Remember that old saying "speculate to
accumulate".

Return the Favour

Offering high commissions is not enough. Let them know that
you'll add a message into your auto responder set up so
that you'll market their products via an affiliate link in
your back end. Explain that you'll be setting up joint
ventures with other marketers in the niche so that they'll
get visitors to their site without spending a dime. This is
very powerful.

Using Clickbank

Please, please understand one thing. If you're selling an
ebook on fitness don't start contacting marketers who sell
gardening products. That's just ridiculous. Only contact
marketers who sell products aimed at your niche market and
therefore have an email or customer list of people who may
have an interest in your ebook.

With that in mind start at www.clickbank.com. Click on
"promote products" on the home page and then search the
marketplace for products in your niche. Contact the product
owners and try setting up a JV.

Google "Ezine" Trick

This is a superb way to find marketers with ready made
email lists they can send a promotion to and sell tons of
copies of your ebook virtually overnight.

Go to google and type in "(niche) ezine". So for example if
you were selling a bass fishing related ebook you'd type in
"bass fishing ezine". What you'll get is a huge list of
results of web sites in which people have a bass fishing
email newsletter (or ezine). Obviously they won't all have
one, often you'll get millions of results, but you can
spend a few hours going through the results and get more JV
contacts than you could ever hope for!

Google "Allintitle" Trick

Here's another cracker. If you could find web sites that
have your niche market keyword in their domain name there
might be great potential JV partners? Of course! Go to
google and type in "allintitle: (niche)" So for example if
you were selling an ebook on song writing you'd type
"allintitle: song writing" into google. Go through the
results contacting marketers and setting up hugely
profitable joint ventures.

Leverage Results

Once you set up one profitable JV use the results to start
setting up even more joint ventures. One joint venture will
boost your conversion and your future contacts will be far
more impressive. You can say things like "Joe bloggs from
domain name.com made X amount of sales and earned X amount
from just one mailing to his list". This really is powerful
because it shows people that you know what you're doing.

Now go and take action. You really can set up joint
ventures with any niche markets top guns if you go and
actually do it. Do it today! Good luck!

How You Can Build Your Own Massively Succesful Affiliate Program To Promote Your Products or Website

It's common knowledge that a succesful affiliate programme
can significantly increase profits if you have your own
product or service. Many marketers, however, simply don't
set up correctly and miss out by acheiving low traffic and
therefore sales through their affiliates.

I want to use this article to show you how anyone with an
affiliate programme can use some simple tricks of the trade
to move their online business up to a whole new and far
higher level.

Motivate Potential Affiliates To Sign Up

This is the thing that many people miss. It's no good
setting up an affiliate programme with links that say
"click here to sign up" and then leaving it at that. You
must sell your affiliate programme. You should create a mini
sales letter that explains the benefits that the potential
affiliate will gain by signing up. For instance let them
know how much their commission will be and how they can
earn a living promoting your products without ever having
the headaches and expense of product creation or web site
building.

Give Your Affiliates Your Own Marketing Materials To Use

Another common error! Site owners tend to get people signed
up for an affiliate programme and then leave them to get on
with it. Basically they're saying "thanks very much for
signing up, now go and make me rich". It just doesn't work
like that. You have to work hard for your affiliates if you
want them to start making you lots of cash.

Give your affiliate whatever you can create in the way of
email promotions, articles, press releases, pay per click
ads, banner adverts and whatever else you can think of that
will let people promote your site as widely as possible
with no more effort on their part than necessary. That way
all their effort can go into actually marketing your
products and services.

The thing is you could build a nice business for yourself
by writing an article and submitting it to article
directories all over the internet but just imagine the
leverage you would get if you had one hundred affiliates
putting that same article out. Your marketing power has
been multiplied by one hundred and this is the key to
making huge amounts of cash online.

You don't have to create all these marketing materials
yourself if you don't want to. Simply employ someone to do
it for you by going to www.elance.com. The important thing
to remember is that your business will only be really
succesful if your affiliates have good quality marketing
materials at their disposal.

Produce A Regular Newsletter For your Affiliates.

This really gets results. Put your affiliates on to an
email list and every week send them an update on the best
ways for them to market your products and earn commissions.
Let them Know about any new products you've just launched
or any new marketing materials you've just added to your
affiliates area.

A really smart tactic is to run a regular competition. Give
a prize of an additional one hundred dollars (or whatever
you can afford) to your most succesful affiliate. Include
the winner in your newsletter and challenge the other
affiliates to beat them next week.

This is really good psychology as you are motivating your
affiliates to promote your products like mad so that they
will be recognised as being your "number one". Ego can
often be as motivating as money.

Motivate Your Affiliates And Explode Your Profits

In this artcle I've been showing you exactly what you need
to do with your own affiliate programme in order to earn a
serious income online. If you do this properly you will
earn more money than you could ever have imagined. To
recap, in order to overcome the three barriers of starting
an affiliate programme you must..............

Convince people to sign up

Make marketing easy for them.

Motivate them to market as fast and as hard as they can.

This way you'll create a massively successful affiliate
programme which will sell tons of your products without any
real hard work or any costs.

I promise, put one or two of these simple strategies to use
and you will see a big improvement in terms of both
affiliate sign ups, and the rate at which affiliates
actively market your products. Take action and try it
yourself!

EDC GOLD a Close Look at 1 up and 2 ups Programs

EDC GOLD is a 2 up program that is creating some stir in
the home business industry. What exactly is going on and
what is all the commotion about? I wanted to plunge into
this on behalf of any newbies out there who are looking to
start an internet business. When I first started looking
into all these programs and seeing all this jargon, well,
it left my head spinning. So, what was the difference
between a 1 up and 2 up versus a 0 up and what do all these
terms mean anyway? Is one better than the other?

EDC Gold, Easy Daily Cash, Passport To Wealth, Road map To
Riches, Predator Marketing System, Prosperity
International, Emerald Passport, Advantage Conferences,
Coastal Vacations & Liberty League to name just a few are
what you would consider a 1 up or 2 up program. So exactly
what does this mean? That is where you pass up your 1st
sale to your sponsor (in the case of a 1up) or your 1st and
2nd sale to sponsor (in the case of a 2 up program such as
EDC Gold).

So what is wrong with that you might ask? Well quite
frankly I am going to let you be the judge of that. Let's
just take a look at a 2 up program for example so you can
draw your own conclusions. And I will use EDC Gold for
example.

EDC Gold is a direct sales company specializing in sales of
digital products including e-books and software that can
help enhance websites. They also have a new program called
the Promo Black Box, which is also an online marketing
training program that includes bi-weekly webinars. Their
compensation plan is an Aussie-2up. This means that your
first two sales you make are passed up to your sponsor.
Once you have made two sales you are now a qualified power
line and the third sale you make is yours. You at that
point do break away from your sponsor and become their
competition.

When you join EDC Gold you have to pay your sponsor $997.
You also pay a one time administration fee of $49. You also
pay a monthly fee of $49 which can be eliminated by a
onetime payment of $350. The last three fees are fees you
don't find out about until you begin your payment process..

In close, 1 up or 2up programs can be lucrative, but for
the newbie however this can become discouraging by having
to give away sales and then be in competition with their
sponsor. Also how much support is going to be provided
especially once you break away? Another important thing to
look at is the growth of the company and where they are
headed as well as the viability of the products.

I Want a Home Business But...What is right for me?

Beware of the Fluff. They seem like great companies, they
have a good sales pitch and their comp plan looks good too.
They have big corporate offices and have been around for
years. Isn't that good? Any company out there that sells
products like lotions, potions, pills, miracle juices or
miracle gas saving products usually doesn't work for the
average person for many reasons.

Those companies usually make most of their money from you,
the distributor, not from selling the products. They have
you on auto ship, so you are their income.

They only pay about 2% to 15% so many levels deep. They
will tell you that when you fill the matrix, you won't have
to do anything and you'll be making 20 to 40k a month. The
truth is, there are so many loop holes to their comp plans
that no body ever reaches those levels. You either will
have too many people on your left, but not enough on your
right side to make the higher level payouts. They tell you
that you need more personal volume and your group volume is
fine or vice versa, or my favorite, you had fallout this
month, so you no longer qualify for that car bonus we
promised you about.

They make you hold home parties to push your crap on your
friends. Listen to me"¦..If I wanted weight loss, I'd go to
GNC. If I wanted Lotions, I'd go to CVS, Save on, Nordstrom
or Bullocks. If I wanted to put additives in my gas tank,
I'd go to Kragen, Chief or Pep Boys and buy a product from
STP or Penzoil. You get what I mean"¦.?

They are a copy cat company of the original company. How
many companies out there are selling a juice that is based
from the Acai Berry, Goji berry or the Mangosteen fruit?
How many of those promise to cure cancer? What a joke? Is
our society that ignorant that if something actually cured
cancer, wouldn't we want to check it out? How many travel
companies are there now? How many fuel additives are there
now? How many of those have been shut down? How many make
up, skin lotions and vitamin companies are there out there?

It just seems like there is so many junk companies on the
internet, how do you what is good and what is not? Some of
these companies above actually have a good product, but I
would never go in business with them.

So, how do I choose a business that I can profit from and
that I can be proud to represent?

When I evaluate a company, I look for these key points.
Keep in mind, when I join a company, my #1 goal is to make
money and to do it legitimately. I do not want to hurt
anyone or rip anyone off. This is what I've learned and
these guidelines will help you determine what company is
right for you.

If you are not making at least 75% of the upfront
commission when you make a sale, forget it. This means that
you are doing all the work and the company and/or the
person above you is making all the money.

If you have to have 1000, 10,000 or 20,000 people in your
organization before you make any real money. DO NOT Join.
Most people will NEVER get there.

If they teach you to hold home parties and invite all your
friends. Run away fast.

If they have a sales pitch 2-3 times a day and only 2-3
training classes per week. This means that the company is
more interested in selling you than training you how to
make money long term

If you can't break even or get into profit with 3 sales,
forget it.

If you can't speak with the owners or the corporate office
via phone or webinar, Forget it. I like to know who I am
doing business with before I will do business with them.

If it is a start up or in pre launch, forget. The chances
of these companies becoming the next Amway is about as good
as winning the lottery. At least with the lottery, you have
a chance to win once or twice a week. You might as well go
to Vegas and blow your money on a good time. At least
you'll have some great memories, see a great show and have
a great meal.

These are not all the rules for success on the internet,
but this is a great guideline to follow when evaluating an
internet company.

Thousands Of Visitors And Other Fibs About Website Traffic - The 10 Worst

Everyone talks about the BEST ways to create traffic but
here are what have to be 10 of the absolute WORST ways to
get real productive, targeted traffic to your website.

How do we know this? We test website traffic programs and
publish the facts in an online monthly report - so you
don't have to waste your time, or your money, on these
losers.

First, put yourself in the shoes of someone looking for
information about the products or services that you sell on
your website.

Now be honest and ask yourself when was the last time you
did any of the following to search for information on the
Internet?

1. Sat down at your computer and really read all of that
good old fashioned unsolicited spam email?

2. Joined a site that promised to send your email message
for free ... and you diligently read the hundreds of emails
you received everyday from this same site?

3. Used a program like 101-website-traffic, 10 million
hits, global blaster, your ad blaster, blaster this or
blaster than, and you really made money from this traffic?

4. Joined a program where you have to click on ads for
hours at a time ... and you really clicked on all of those
ads? Really? How many of those sites did you actually
visit?

5. Signed up for a freebie that didn't have anything to do
with Internet marketing ... and now your inbox is jammed
with wonderful email offers that you always read for hours
and hours?

6. You paid someone to submit your site to "5,000" search
engines ... but now you realize that there aren't even 500
good search engines on the Internet?

7. Used a free hosting company and loved all of the banner
ads, at the top of your site, that you web host requires
when your hosting is free.

8. Tried some keyword trickery like keyword "stacking",
"stuffing" or "hiding" and your site didn't get banned by
the search engines.

9. Joined a link or banner exchange and became fabulously
wealthy ... just like the fancy ad copy for the exchange
program, said you would.

10. Used a program that promised tons of traffic and
guarantee you will make $100,000 in 4 months ... and you
really made a hundred grand?

I'm sure you get the point. If you are not doing the above
then why on earth would you expect your prospective
customers to be any different?

Why would you expect your prospects to visit your site by
using any of the above methods when these are not the
methods you use to visit other sites?

Now turn the tables and think of the things you really "do"
use to get information on the Internet.

1. You really do read email when it is from someone you
know and trust ... but spam goes directly to the trash.

2. You join programs and buy products you need that are
recommended by people you trust.

3. You read articles about the subjects that interest you.

4. You have joined affiliate programs and purchased
affiliate products.

5. You have signed up for "free" information that interests
you. Hint, targeted information.

6. You use the search engines to look for the information
you want - Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, Ask Jeeves and maybe a
couple of others.

7. You pay for your web hosting and setup your site the way
you want it to look.

8. You have clicked on the ads you see running down the
right side of many websites, i.e. like Googles AdWord ads
you see when doing a search on Google.

9. You have placed links on your site for affiliate
programs that you sell or other sites have links back to
your website from their site.

10. You know that a program that guarantees you unlimited
traffic and that will make you $100,000 in 4 months ... is
a scam.

These are just a few of the many ways to ensure you get
"productive" traffic not empty clicks. Empty clicks are
just that - empty - and your wallet will stay that way, too!

----------------------------------------------------
If you do not know about the many types of keyword trickery
that will get you in real trouble with the search engines,
or who the website is that is promising free unlimited
traffic ... along with a hundred grand ... then read the
details before you get caught by scams like this. For your

Traffic"

Dot Com Millions To Small Business Inginuity Part Two

What is small business ingenuity? Well, ingenuity is
defined as , the quality of being ingenious , cleverness ,
originality, skill. Websters Dictionary

Small business is a business that has very few persons
running things usually from 1-10 and usually with a very
small budget. Todays trend is the beloved home office. Yes,
a spot that you can get in the game and report to during
your own business hours.

Now the small business of choice with me is definitely
Network Marketing or MLM. Who is asking why?

Are you kidding me, ahh... Because it offers residual
income, build it once get paid over and over. How about
leverage, to get paid on the efforts of others like a
mortgage broker. You can have at least $5,000 in tax
advantages your first year and you have freedom to work
when you want , where you want, and with whom you want.
Becoming wealthy is all about building valuable assets and
that is what a mature network marketing organization is.
(Even a growing one.)

If there is anyone out their reading this article that
still questions the ethics and business practices of
network marketing, I mean really, If anyone questions the
legitimacy of this non traditional direct to the market
place approach, pay attention

Did you know that the second richest man in the world
bought a network marketing company. In fact Warren Buffet
recently liked the concept so much he purchased 3. So do
you still think we are under a close watch? Of course we
are, on wall street where stock from network marketing
companies keep rising while others are falling.

But here is my position, when you can create a system that
is teachable and duplicable that truly marries network
marketing with true internet marketing the leverage is so
much greater...

The possibilities are endless. People that have learned
what it takes to become successful on the internet will
understand the potential as everyone should. The internet
in network marketing is a way to leverage what you already
have as leverage. That is other people and their abilities.
Have you ever heard of "other peoples money"? Well how
about profiting from other peoples time and efforts?

Here is the "Scoop", you need to build and sustain assets
as opposed to liabilities to get wealthy. The way I see it,
most businesses can be or can become major liabilities.
Think about overhead and profit. What happens when you open
a business? For the most part in a traditional setting,
people just go into debt when starting a business. Hence my
reasoning behind the notion that traditional business
without the key element of "leverage" , is and most cases a
liability.

Lets face it, everyone knows that todays trend is business
on the internet and most of us have no clue how to
capitalize even if we already have a business. In network
marketing most of us networkers are the same way. We end up
listening to our sponsors and we talk to the people we know
, maybe even send them to our website and then we buy a
lead list so we have new people to talk to. don't get me
wrong , this is a perfect way for a beginner to have a
constant way to promote ones business but, have you ever
heard the old saying that it is better to teach a man to
fish than to feed them for a day?

What if you knew how to not only produce your own leads
using the internet but you could effectively promote your
opportunity or product so well that people would join you
in business without even you having to call them up? Yes
now we are talking about making your mark in a "Dot Com"
world.

This my friends is the concept of the future. Think about
it this way, how do you think all the lead companies that
we have all purchased from is producing those leads? How
about the fact that they know how to market on the internet
in a way that produces those leads and then they turn
around and market to you and I so that we can buy those
leads.

The asset that the lead companies as well as those of us who

how to produce those leads is the simple "know-how" when
it comes to internet marketing. If you are at all like me
and want to stay ahead of the trends then you will
investigate and find the knowledge to market greater
online. Build your name in your small business with very
little overhead and the leverage that the internet
provides. There is always a search engine nearby to help
you along the way. Always find a way to leverage and you
will never lack. to your future.

The Three P's of Internet Prosperity

Whether your home business is an Internet home business
where your sole venture is making money online, or you work
at home servicing local customers, you still need Internet
marketing.

No matter what your own home business ideas or the home
business opportunities of others you use to make money
online, you're going to have to promote that home business
primarily through the Internet. About the only time your
work at home wouldn't involve Internet marketing is if you
had an at home job working for someone else and your job
tasks didn't involve marketing.

For most of you who work at home, however, Internet
marketing is a must.

If you will remember the three P's of Internet marketing
you will succeed. These are Patience, Perseverance, and
Punctuality. Let's take a look at why each of these is
important to your Internet home business.

Patience is crucial if you are to succeed at your home
business. While there are plenty of folks on the Web
offering home business opportunities that will make you
vast amounts of money in incredibly short time periods with
very little outlay of money and just a few hours of work
each week, don't believe what they say. It's just not true.
Growing a home business – growing any business – takes a
lot of time, a lot of effort, and a fair amount of upfront
costs. It's vital that you don't buy into what can only be
a frustrating experience, and a loss of time and money, by
launching one of the business opportunities that promise
big bucks tomorrow. You must assume, no matter what your
home business, that you will not make enough money online
to "give up your day job" and really live off your work at
home income for 2-3 years. If you can't keep you and your
family in sound financial shape through other means, then
you must find funding that will do so, or just wait until
you can before starting your home business.

Perseverance is crucial to a successful Internet business.
Products, tools and even some of consumer's demands and
expectations for the Internet change almost daily. You must
stay on top of those changes. It's not enough to set up
your Web site, put your URL on major search engines, create
your blog and place your ads and then just wait for the
money to roll in. Your Web site must offer continually
changing content; you must update your promotional
materials often and continually search out new advertisers
and sponsors in order to encourage new and repeat traffic.
If your search engine optimization includes paid search
engines (and it should) you'll have to keep a continual eye
on where your home business site falls in search results
and re-bid as needed. Your blog should have some change
daily, even if it's only minimal. The more often you add
new material the greater your repeat traffic.

This brings us to Punctuality. Whether you are trying to
make money online or at a brick and mortar location, or
through the old fashioned snail mail print catalog method
there is one maxim that has rung true for decades – and
will probably still be true one or two centuries from now.
It is far easier to keep and grow profits from a current
customer than it is to find a new one. While you certainly
want new customers you also want to pay attention to your
local customers too. These folks are the ones to bring in
many of your new customers, after all. Punctuality is the
key to repeat traffic. If you are going to update your Web
content, do so on a regular basis. Do it at the same time
each day, the same day each week. Let your loyal viewers
know that your Internet business site will have a brand new
product launch, or a new business executive profile, or a
new column out by 6am each Tuesday – and then don't let it
be 6:05 by the time it's visible. This makes for loyal and
repeat customers. Better yet, introduce your weekly sale or
your weekly promotions at the same time of the same day
each week and watch your traffic –and your revenue -
skyrocket.

The basic tools for marketing your Internet home business
are article writing, search engine optimization,
e-newsletter or e-zines, direct mail and affiliations. None
of these, however, will work if you don't practice the
three P's of Patience, Perseverance and Punctuality.

Mining Gold on the Internet, "how to make $1,000 in 15
days!"

Shawn M. Casey, Chairmen and CEO Mining Gold Corporation
Membership this and membership that… When you purchase
Shawn Casey's e-book Mining Gold on the Internet you get
automatically signed up for $39.99 per month. This is O.K.
I guess. I know that this is supposed to be a good way to
build residual paying subscribers I just don't remember
seeing that part spelled out in the sales letter before I
decided to purchase the course. I personally don't like the
idea.

Anyway I did purchase this one and I have just finished
reading through the course.

Here is my 1st complaint. You are supposed to also sign up
for a lot of the resources that are offered on a monthly
membership basis. Not to say that there are not ones
included with the course, there are some.

Shawn Casey seems to be a pretty reputable and
knowledgeable Internet guy. He claims to have generated
over $30,000,000 in sales revenues.

The sales letter was well written although very long. I
know that there is some debate over long verse short sales
letters going on but this one was really long. I guess if
you read sales letters all day long you tend to get a
little tired some times with the really long ones. In my
opinion, how much do you have to say to close the deal?

My 2nd complaint. I was very confused with parts of the
course when just starting out. There are I think three
initial e-mails you get when you sign up, each one with a
different place to log in. This is only the beginning of
the e-mails you will receive for additional stuff to sign
up for with additional passwords and so on. Exhausting!

By the time I got a chance to sit down and review the
Mining Gold on the Internet program, those three plus
e-mails were buried under about 20 or so other e-mails as
well as some additional new ones from the Mining Gold
Corporation.

Needless to say, it took me a wile to open the right email,
navigate through the correct attached link and then
download the PDF for the course. See what I mean?

Even before all that happened, I had to fill out some
survey to see if Shawn Casey himself would want to work
with me or not. Kind of like an interview or something. I
selected no thanks at the end of it.

I found most of the course information to be accurate,
although a little on the basic side, even for beginners.
Make money selling other people's products, digital
software and e-books and such with re-sale rights included.
We all kind of know about that stuff I think.

Also discussed in the course are affiliate programs, which
again is pretty common knowledge. There are some great
affiliate programs out there by the way. There are free
advertising web site links that are included by the way, I
hate free advertising! You only get what you pay for.

To finish this up Shawn Casey's Mining Gold on the Internet
program seems to have some O.K. information built in to it.
Honestly, I was not overly thrilled with what I got and
again I don't like being signed up for these monthly fees
or subscriptions unless I am absolutely aware of it up
front. The monthly subscription was by the way very easy to
cancel, which I did as soon as I finished the course.

Are You Cut Out For Direct Sales?

If you are working in the field of multi-level marketing
(or network marketing) and selling your product or service
directly to your customers, including recruiting for your
company, there are going to be many blocks that could stop
your progress and ultimate success. Direct sales consists
of real work to make it succeed and you have to be a
certain kind of entrepreneur to make your dreams come true.

In direct sales, you have to contact customers, sell them
on your service or product, close the sale and follow up.
In order to contact someone in the first place, you have to
have a list of prospects. Perhaps your multi-level
marketing company provides you with lists of names, but
more often they don't. You have to find your own. And this
can mean cold calling.

Calling on prospects in direct sales can be very
intimidating. There are so many rejections right off the
bat that you might just throw in the towel after the first
hundred calls. However, in any game such as this, you must
realize that it is a numbers game. You will always get a
certain percent of sales for each 100 calls you make.

Maybe you think that being an entrepreneur and that the
work from home business isn't all it claims. That's true if
you think that it's simply all automatic and the money is
just going to roll in. It's a lot of hard work. Being an
entrepreneur signifies someone who can start and operate a
venture for profit. Profit doesn't come from doing nothing.

You will need to have the concept that the harder you work,
the more profit you will make. And the more contacts you
make, the more sales you will eventually make. You also
have to maintain the initial enthusiasm you had when you
started, no matter how many calls you make where someone
bad-mouths you or hangs up on you. It's all part of the
territory.

Sure, you have the overall goals in mind of what you want
to achieve with your direct sales business. But how about
setting a goal for the day? Set a goal to make ONE sale.
Then work like a fiend to make that one goal a reality. Do
the same the next day. You are giving yourself successes,
and you can remember these when the going gets rough.

Have a nice space to work, with all the tools of your trade
laid out before you. If you need to refer to something when
you make a call, ensure it is handy. Then you won't get
tongue-tied and blow a sale. Get your patter down so you
know exactly what to say and when. It will go much smoother
that way.

Confront and sort out all problems you run into. There will
be some, so get used to the idea. Don't let them halt your
production of calls, but list them out and make a time to
deal with them.

Deal with things a step at a time in direct sales, but
don't let anything drag you off your overall purpose. If
you are a determined entrepreneur, you can make anything
happen if you put your mind to it.

Image Optimization for Maximum SEO Impact

Images are great for a website. They can add to the overall
look, appeal, and effectiveness of your site. Images may be
necessary if you are selling a product. There are many
reasons to use images on your website, but did you know
that improperly used images can kill your site?

Large (those that have a high number of bytes) and
misplaced images can end up costing you money. They require
more bandwidth and storage space, which costs you more
money. Most web hosts offer a set amount of storage space
and a limited data transfer rate, so you will either waste
valuable space with large images or you will exceed your
bandwidth and end up paying extra for your hosting.

In addition to losing money this way, you also lose
potential customers and visitors to your site. Large images
take longer to load, and you can guarantee that if a page
takes 10 seconds or more to load, the person is going to
click away or hit the "back" button. Traffic = money, so it
is important to keep the traffic flowing.

Optimizing Your Images for SEO
The solution to this problem is not to get rid of your
images, but instead to optimize them for being viewed
online. Large images can be optimized so that they take up
less space on your webpage. The best formats for your
images are either .gif or .jpg formats (for logos and
navigation buttons, .gif works best, while photographs are
best in .jpg.) Your aim is to reduce the amount of bytes in
your graphic, while still retaining quality.

Online Optimization Tools
There are numerous image optimization tools available
online that you can use for free to help reduce these
problems and achieve maximum SEO impact on your site. How
do these work? Basically, you upload your pictures, they
process them, and then give you several smaller versions of
your graphic to choose from. You will want to use the
image that uses the fewest bytes, but still retains
acceptable quality. It is possible to reduce your graphic
size by as much as 70% and still retain quality, especially
in the .jpg format.

You can do a search for online image optimization tools and
when you find one that works for you, use it to optimize
all the images you plan to use on your web pages. This will
greatly improve your SEO.

Naming Your Images
Another way to improve your SEO is to name your images
using keywords. For example, instead of using
"image_1.jpg" as a name for your image, use a keyword to
describe what the image is of, i.e.
"image-optimization-tool.jpg." Also be sure to use a
hyphen (dash) instead of an underscore.

Are You Getting Maximum Impact with MySpace?

Are you getting maximum impact with MySpace? With more and
more community websites popping up where people can create
a profile and represent themselves as they want, no wonder
it can be difficult to get the maximum impact with such
communities as MySpace. Let's face it; everyone has likes
and dislikes as well as concerns and certain interests, so
you can really build a good social network on MySpace.
They can focus on their interests and let themselves be
heard by others in their network.

This is all a great thing for businesses in particular as
they can get a great deal of feedback from a large targeted
group of people. It is a smart idea for businesses to
invest some time to keeping up with these social networks
as they can play an important role in making or breaking
someone. Take time to consider the options for social
networks that are available to you and see who has the most
in an audience that is interested in what you have to
offer. That would be the one you want to be active with.

Perhaps one of the best ways to meet your goals is to
visualize what market you are trying to reach. Sit down
and make a list of who you want to target, what kind of
people are they, what do they look like? You can go down
to the very details of such things as what kind of car they
drive and what they do for a living. This will help you to
get a better perspective on your social networks once you
have the details ironed out.

Another great tool that you can use with social networking
is video and audio blogs. Once you get these tools down,
you will see your business grow. When you use such tools
as the video and audio feeds, you can give your targeted
audience a better understanding of what you have to offer.
It gives them a feeling of seeing it first hand. Social
networks like MySpace can help you to build trust with your
audience and it also give them a place to communicate with
you. Most every person loves to be interactive with the
social networks and if give them a sense that they have
contributed to something that they value.

So when looking into social networks such as MySpace you
want to be sure that you are getting the maximum impact
with your services. You want o reach the right audience
and give them the sense that they are a part of what you
are offering. You will find that your sales will soar and
your clients will grow. Social networks are definitely the
way to go to reach people from all over the world. This is
a great way to go worldwide.

The new seller's guide to eBay

Selling on eBay is as easy as ABC!!!

If you have something interesting to sell, there are
millions of buyers out there on eBay waiting to buy it from
you. Sadly, not many have been able to gauge the amazing
potential eBay has when it comes to selling and the number
of ways in which eBay can boost their businesses.

What can you sell?

As long as the range of products you have are unique and
enticing enough to lure buyers, you can sell practically
anything on eBay. From music cds and computer software to
books and interesting gift items, you can successfully sell
everything on the mega auction site – eBay! Upload these
interesting goodies in your auction list and offer them at
competitive prices for online sale.

Don't forget to add a picture

Adding images can do wonders for your online sale, as a
good picture is far more effective than detailed
description of the item on sale. When it comes to selling
items such as costume jewelry and apparels, your buyers
would be more convinced by seeing the image rather than
reading a mere description about the specifications of the
product. Ideally, you can include pictures (at the top of
the page) to show the product from various angles to lure
buyers.

How to sell?

I feel it is crucial to create a product title that's
packed with suitable keywords in order to be easily found
when buyers search for similar products. Your product
listings must be accompanies with appropriate product
details and if the product being offered is a second hand
one, don't forget to mention this in product details. When
you sell your products on eBay, buyers pay you in advance
and offering some sort of guarantee or warranty on your
products can make your buyers feel more comfortable when
dealing with you. One thing that can boost your sale on
eBay is the number of payment options you provide to your
buyers. Offer as many payment options as you can so that
you don't lose out on a lucrative deal simply because the
options offered didn't suit that particular buyer. Buyers
generally prefer online payment options, as they are fast
and easy.

Be patient and polite with your customers

Since your buyers don't actually know whom they are dealing
with, any delay on your side to contact them can be highly
discomforting. Make sure that you follow up once you
receive a sale in order to build trust and get more
business from the same buyer in future.

One thing you must avoid at all costs is being impolite.
You need to be very polite with your customers even if they
are offensive at times. If your buyers are unhappy with the
product they have purchased, you may try giving a
replacement or at least try being sympathetic towards their
concerns.

Harnessing The Power Of Expired Domain Names

-- What Makes Expiring Domain Names So Good? --

In short, expired domain names are a GOLDMINE. Better yet,
they are a goldmine on autopilot because making money with
expired domain names does not really require any active
work.

First of all, for those of you who may not know exactly
what a domain name is, whenever you see YourWebsite.com or
YourBlog.net, that is a domain name. In order to get a
domain name for a website or a blog you need to register it
with an appropriate company called a 'domain name
registrar.'

Domain names are pretty cheap (about 8 bucks a pop or so),
and there are tens of thousands registered every single day.

When you register a domain name, this is not a permanent
thing. Rather, you will register a domain name for a
certain period of time, anywhere from one ot ten years
usually.

Most people choose to register a domain name for only one
year at a time, and in this case the domain name must be
constantly renewed in order for the owner to keep it. Many
times, when a domain name is approaching its expiration
date, the owner will simply choose not to renew it.

-- How You Can Cash In On The Expired Domain Name Trend --

So that is all well and good, but WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO
DO WITH MAKING MONEY??

Here is where the cool part comes in:

Every year or few years, the owner of a domain name must
pay a registration fee or else the domain name itself will
be back in the marketplace where anybody can buy it.

There are many reasons why an owner of a domain name would
not renew it, including that they simply did not realize it
was going to expire, they got sidetracked with other
business ventures, or they simply decided that they did not
want it anymore.

But the kicker is, when the domain name expires, there is
still alot of traffic being directed to that site because
of the previous owners promotion methods!

If you can redirect this traffic to your own site
(especially if the topic of the website on the expired
domain name was similar to your own website's topic), you
have a stream of new visitors coming to your website every
day that is totally on autopilot.

If, as an individual or even a small business, you set out
to acquire some expiring domain names for yourself, you
would have a very difficult time going about this. It
requires a sizeable amount of capital to be able to get
into the expired domain name game an a large scale, and it
is only on a large scale that you have massive success.

This is just a simple principle from Economics 101, people!
ECONOMIES OF SCALE, which means the little guy doesn't
stand a chance. It's the same reason that nobody can
compete with Wal-Mart, because they have such a huge amount
of working capital.

But, like the title of this section suggests, there IS a
great way for the little guy to cash in on expired domain
name traffic. There are a few companies out there that buy
up expired domain names on a massive scale, which over time
means that they have a continuous stream of TENS OF
THOUSANDS of daily visitors which they can redirect to
anywhere on the web they wish.

But instead of keeping this goldmine of traffic to
themselves, they will allow anybody to submit their own
website address and have some traffic redirected their way,
which is very affordable and efficient for the little guy
with a small budget.

This can be a great option for anybody who has a quality
website but lacks a steady stream of visitors, as this is
among the cheaper yet still effective of all marketing
options.

--Picking A Good Company To Get Traffic From --

I will say right now up front that it IS possible to be
scammed in this arena. Be on the lookout for unscrupulous
companies who pander to the hopes and dreams of aspiring
internet marketers, and then run away with their cash.

What is it that differentiates a legitimate company from a
scam in this area? One thing is that a legitimate company
will always have testimonials from customers about their
service, and a scam will not.

A legit company will also be very upfront about what their
entire operation is, and they will explain it in terms that
even an internet newbie can understand. A scam company
will take the approach of providing little quality
information, perpetuating the illusion that they know alot
about this industry and you should just trust them on this
point and hand over your credit card info.

Basically, if you have spent a decent amount of time
surfing the web, you will have developed an intuitive sense
of when a site 'just doesn't feel right.' So if you feel
any internal alarms going off, simply click off the site
and make sure you don't give them your money. Most likely
there will be absolutely no return on investment.

Are You an Entrepreneur?

You want to start your own work from home business and make
a real life for you and your family – one that doesn't
consist of all the demands of the corporate world. But do
you have what it takes to be a real entrepreneur? Whether
you get going by doing direct sales in a multi-level
marketing company, have your own product which you will
attempt to sell online, or want to become a business coach
for others, you have to do some self-examination so you
won't fall on your face.

Naturally, there will be no guarantees that you can make
it. You, as an entrepreneur and simply by the definition of
this alone, will have to assume all the risks of your new
business. But if you engage in excellent planning, prepare
yourself for delivering an excellent product or service,
and keep intelligent self-council, you can make your dreams
come true.

You must know what your strengths are and mentally validate
your abilities. This is so you don't get discouraged too
easily. For instance, if you are in direct sales and you
know you are great at closing sales on the phone, you must
always keep this in mind, and put your all into your calls
and making sales.

Of course, you also must be aware of your weaknesses. Maybe
you are good at sales but poor at recruiting other sales
reps – as in multi-level marketing. Know what your weakness
is and work out step-by-step how you can either overcome
it, or get someone to do that function for you. There are
always solutions. Entrepreneurs overcome and squelch their
problems.

If you aren't a self-starter, it's time you figured out how
you can attain this attitude. It's important for someone
who is going to work from home to be able to get the ball
rolling when it stops. You can't procrastinate and expect
success.

There are many different relationships you will have with
many different personalities. Can you deal with them and
get along with all types of people? You will have to
communicate with customers, possibly vendors and other
professionals such as bankers, attorneys and accountants.
If you need assistance in learning to deal with any lines
in your new business, perhaps business coaching could help
you learn how to cope.

Customer complaints will happen no matter what sort of
business you are doing in your work from home enterprise.
Do you know how to deal tactfully with someone who is upset?

Even though you will face 12-hour workdays, you can plan
out and organize your work at home business to be
everything you need. Study how others deal with problems,
and learn how to confront and handle them. You will be a
success as an entrepreneur and achieve what you desire.

5 Simple Steps to Adding Offline Marketing to Your Online Business

Taking my struggling consulting business online and
following the business model I now do turned everything
around for me, financially and otherwise. So when I started
hearing from my mentors that I might want to add some
offline marketing tactics back into the mix, I was hesitant
to say the least.

But then I started studying and learning more about some
specific direct mail strategies, and recognizing the power
they have, I started wondering in maybe I wasn't missing an
important piece of the puzzle to take my business up
another notch.

Then I started seeing some amazing results from my
colleagues who were using direct mail in addition to their
online marketing efforts - things as simple as a postcard -
and I decided I needed to get into this game myself. (I'll
keep you posted on my own results in a future article.)

How do you get started adding direct mail marketing to your
mix? Here are 5 simple steps:

1. Start collecting physical addresses

You may have the addresses of those clients and customers
who have purchased from you already, which is a great
start. But you also want to start collecting snail mail
addresses from those people who sign up for your list. This
way, when you're ready to send a physical mailing out,
you'll have all the information you need. AND, as email
deliverability gets muddier, you'll always have this other
option of reaching your audience.

2. Plan a campaign

I always tell my clients to plan an online promotion
campaign when they are ready to market a specific product,
program or service, instead of sending out a single
announcement. The campaign I recommend typically includes a
minimum of three emails.

Same goes for an offline mailing. You need to plan a
campaign, with more than one mailing, in order to truly get
and discern a return on your investment.

3. Go cheap the first time

Something I learned when I was the PR director for a
university was NOT to do an expensive mailing until we had
cleaned our list. Peoples' addresses change for a variety
of reasons and you may not always have the most up-to-date
ones when you're ready to send your mailing.

So, here's a tip to clean your list before you start
investing in some higher-end mailers. Send a postcard that
has your return address on it to your current list. Then
update your list via the returned postcards you get. Then
make sure you have your return address on every mailing you
do to keep your list as up-to-date as possible.

4. Keep it simple

Do a postcard, which gets read right away, with a simple,
direct, compelling message and an immediate call to action,
with graphics that don't distract but support your message.

5. Track your mailings

The easiest way to do this is to send your readers to a
simple website address (URL) that you only use for the
purposes of that mailing. All you have to do is redirect
that URL to your existing web page (where your offer
resides) using the tracking link feature in your shopping
cart. That way you can tell how many people typed in the
URL and how many people took advantage of your offer. This
is how you measure your return on your investment.

Getting started with adding direct mail to your marketing
mix isn't difficult. And by combining your online
strategies with offline ones, you'll be gaining a lot more
clients and customers and bringing in a lot more income.

Maximum Impact Advertising

If you sell a product or service, and want to be successful
quickly, you must tell people about it through advertising
and marketing.

TV, radio and newspaper are still considered the major
media for effective marketing off-line.

However, a lot has changed with these top three marketing
vehicles in the past 15 years.

In this article some critical changes are revealed that
have occurred and how you can get the maximum impact for
your advertising dollar.

Television is primarily an entertainment medium. Research
shows the average person spends more time with television
than with radio and newspaper combined. For many years, TV
was considered the most powerful advertising choice because
of the huge audience it provided. Even today, nearly
everyone watches some TV every day.

There are three things you must consider before spending
money on TV advertising - limited lifespan of your ad,
audience fragmentation, and ad avoidance.

Keep in mind that once your ad has aired, it is gone for
good. There is no way your potential customer can refer
back to it. This fact makes it imperative that you run your
ad many times to embed your message in the mind of the
viewer. Frequency is important with any advertising, but
especially broadcast.

Audience fragmentation is one of the major problems local
broadcast television faces today.

At one time, a huge TV audience was split over only a few
local channels. Community businesses could reach a large
majority of their potential customers very quickly. Large
national companies, such as Coke, only had to choose from
the three major networks - ABC, CBS or NBC - to reach over
80% of the population.

Today, with cable and satellite TV, this same audience is
now fragmented over 200 or more channels. The percentage of
viewers on local TV has dropped dramatically. Yes you can
run ads on cable and they will spread them out over ten or
more channels. This shotgun advertising has not worked well
for small businesses because many of these stations have
only a half percent or less of the total viewers. And, what
are the odds that they will be watching during the 15 or 30
seconds that your ad is presented?

Ad avoidance is also a very rapidly growing problem for TV
today.

Because the public watches TV primarily for entertainment,
they see advertising as an unwelcome interruption - not
unlike the hated telemarketing. This was true 30 years ago
but there was nothing a person could do about it except
channel surf or leave the room. As you know this was, and
still is, often done. Today, with TIVO, pay-per-view,
public broadcast stations, and the multitude of satellite
and cable channels, the public has shown a willingness to
pay for reduced interruption from advertising.

Radio has similar problems. It is also primarily an
entertainment medium. As such, advertising is also
considered an interruption. Satellite radio is one of the
fastest growing industries today primarily because people,
again, are willing to pay to avoid commercials. In fact,
most new cars have satellite radio built in.

Additionally, radio has evolved into an entertainment
source for primarily driving, and background noise at work.
If you buy any radio advertising, it should only be aired
during drive time.

At home, radio use drops off. People can play CD's or
listen to satellite radio. This way they can choose exactly
the music or programming they prefer without commercial
interruption. The radio industry understands that folks do
not want to be interrupted with advertising. Many times
radio stations promote themselves by offering "more music,
less commercials".

Newspaperes have had their ups and downs, but have steadily
maintained their local readership base and strength for
local marketing. Even when radio, then TV, came on the
scene, people still were loyal in reading their local
newspaper.

Unlike TV and radio, advertising in a newspaper is not
viewed as an interruption. In fact, one of the reasons
people buy newspapers is for the advertisement content.
Surveys have shown among 15% and 23% of those buying a
newspaper do so primarily for the advertising.

You see, people do want to see and read advertisements.
They do want to - and need to - buy products and services.
They just want the ads on their terms.

TV's best day of the year is Superbowl Sunday, delivering
nearly 40% of U.S. households. In striking contrast,
newspapers consistently deliver well over 50% of your
community households. They do it every day, 365 days a
year. Now that is some serious marketing power.

Another advantage over broadcast that only newspapers can
deliver is engagement of the consumer at the moment they
are making a buying decision. When a person is reading your
ad, it is because they choose to. At that time you have
their full and focused attention. And the working life of
your newspaper ad is enormous because it is physical and
static. Your potential customer can refer back to it
anytime they wish, or even cut it out.

You may have heard on TV or radio that newspaper
subscriptions and readership are dropping. This is true.
But it is not to the degree they would like you to believe.

What they do not tell you is newspaper on line versions are
growing much faster than the 7% or so losses in
subscriptions. In fact, you will find newspaper web sites
are usually the busiest web sites in any community. Be sure
you take advantage of this.

Now you can see why today's trend among business people who
are in-the-know is away from broadcast and back into the
old, reliable newspaper. Most all the major stores are
getting back to the basics and finding the print
advertising to be the best return on investment. So will
you.

Newspapers, of course, should not be your only advertising
medium, but it is the solid foundation on which you build
an effective marketing plan in today's environment.

Reviewing the Roadmap to Riches Business Opportunity

"How Would You Like to Earn $999 Commissions on Every $999
Product Sale Placed Through Your Roadmap to Riches
Affiliate Website?"'

This is an actual question that is asked on the homepage of
the roadmap to riches affiliate marketing program. But is
this a real possibility or is this business just another
scam? Well, I had to put out $999 to find out so I could
have the opportunity to review the product line offered as
well as the affiliate training that is available in the
backoffice.

As you probably already realize, any new business
opportunity should have an excellent product so it will be
able to sustain itself longterm in the industry. Having a
viable and attractive product to the masses is a crucial
aspect that can't be ignored by anyone considering
marketing any affiliate program.

Here is my viewpoint on the products that are offered:

As I paid my $999 cash payment for the personal development
products, I had decided that I really wanted to spend some
time reading the audio and ebooks offered to see if I could
see real value and feel good about promoting the affiliate
program. I was impressed by how simple it was to access the
products once my payment was made and once I dived in, I
did find some great value in the products which included
the famous book, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill.

The business opportunity is made up of a 2 up compensation
plan with a 100% cash payout of $999 for every sale made.
But unlike most 2 up compensation plans, where you must
give up your first two commissions to your sponsor, roadmap
to riches allows you to split the first two commissions
with your sponsor and earn $499 immediately on these first
2 sales. This is a tremendous benefit as it allows someone
to get into profit immediately, but it also retains the
traditional leverage that 2 Up compensation plans are known
for. After the first 2 sales are made, one earns the
complete $999 on every sale from there on out.

To conclude the review, RoadMap to Riches does have some
well known personal development products. The uniquely
tweaked 2 Up compensation plan also gives a new person the
ability to earn immediate income while still having the
ability to create leverage and therefore allows them the
possibility of earning substantial long term income.

Search Engine Ranking Back Link Building Software - Useless

As all webmasters look to create better ways to achieve
link building, in hope of gaining top search ranking, more
and more software is developed and sold to make this task
"easier" and quicker.

However the problem with this as a lack of knowledge of
processes, creates a waste of your time and money.

Lets look at this based on a product that claims to
generate back links from high page rank wordpress blogs.
Wordpress is well used free blog software that has a huge
following . Many top bloggers are using it due its easy use
and friendly free tools or "plugins" – which provide more
functionality.

The software I looked at claims to post comments on high
ranking blogs, in the market of your choice simply by
clicking a few buttons. Wordpress is on its 2.2 version and
is very aware of these type of actions, as so are other
programmers.

So I log into my own blog, and I see I have 104 comments
for moderation like:

"Hi !!! -The Author, you - super hero!" and "What beautiful
text and visitors!"

Well thank you very much – (head beginning to swell….)
however they *all* link to "questionable subject" sites at
Blooger.com – the free blog site. Now all of this links
have very similar comments, so my best guess is that
similar software has posted the links.

There are 2 faults with this method:

1. Plugins stop these comments ever appearing- I use a
plugin which will highlight these links and them make me
approve them before they even display. Lets say for a
minute that I don't have the above plugin and the comments
are shown on my site - then comes the second problem.

2. External nofollow Tag– The main reason this software
exists and is being used as the owner area seeking "High PR
links" That's high Page Rank links back to there own
websites in order to rank higher in Google.

However Wordpress, in its most basic form uses what called
a "External Nofollow" –Tag on all comments placed on the
blog (I believe blogger and other blog platforms also
follow the same outline)

The no follow tag does not pass on any of the page
reputation on from the page which means you get no benefit
from the link at all, it will not help your ranking.

The best way to see this in action using Internet Explorer
is to follow these steps:

1. Go to any blog page, that has comments on it, with
external links

2. Click View >> source on the top menu bar

3. In the new text window that opens click Edit >> Find

4. Type: external nofollow in the box

If you are using the firefox browser- (which I highly
recommend) – you can load a SEO for Firefox extension
,which make it very easy to see these links and it
highlights them in red:

It also provides a wealth of information as well on the
sites you are looking at ,about links, alexa rank, Page
rank etc

So back to the software- Who does it really help? Well the
programmer who got paid to make it, the marketer who made
money when he sold it (and sold resell rights to it as
well)- everyone except the person using it!

Also at the same time do you think Google would approve of
its use? They left it to the programmers to update the
wordpress software and keep everyone (well almost everyone)
honest.

So when looking at software to help your business, (there
are many helpful software tools) be aware that anything
that totally automates any process is unlikely to be
effective when a few people start using it. Especially
anything that has a purpose purely just to create links for
search engines, which is highly disliked by the engines as
its seen as attempting to influence results.
